    I can give you a link to the book anyway but really I decided to learn more about religion and just started with said book. It just happened to list other books and give some good information about religious texts. God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything by Christopher Hitchens Make note, if you're gonna read this book either you need to have a very good vocabulary or you need to have a dictionary nearby (i used a dictionary on my iPhone).

    Yeah, I just got up to the chapter in a book I'm reading that says it borrows from both the bible and the torah. I'd still like to give it a read or at least browse it.

    Thanks for the info. I really just wanna read through it but read the most accurate one I can. I'm not really ready to put in the time to learn hebrew since I don't plan to convert to the religion I just want a better understanding of it. If I were to decide to go back to school for religious studies (not likely, or maybe it is) then I might consider learning the language. I'll take a look at the JPS one you mentioned. Thanks.

    I was hoping a couple of people that are followers of the corresponding faiths could recommend a particular copy of their religious text that is the most accurate translation. I figure all the King James bibles are the same but I have been told the Tanakh and Koran very slightly in translation from publisher to publisher. What I would not like is to get into a debate about these various religions. Thanks in advance.

The Mayans said so They also made human sacrifices. Were they right about that? Well... I can think of a few folks that I'd like to see sacraficed I can think of more than a few. But society says I can't. So I wont.

    I dislike this argument (which I've heard from various people) because the logic is faulty. If there weren't a year 0 (which there wasn't in those days at least for how they set up the calendar) then the children would start at 1.

    That is the correct answer. The calendar numbering system went from 1 BC to 1 AD with no year 0 in between.

    P.S there is a right and wrong answer and you are probably wrong. I debated not even putting an option for Dec 31, 2009 to show those of you who believe that is the answer that you are wrong. I've been having this argument on Facebook. I don't wanna act like I'm smarter than people... but I'm smarter than a lot of people. ETA: This is one of those topics that bugs me and I will physically fight you over it.

    That would be because there's nothing to see Somehow I highly doubt that. I've found that very few people are able to do an accurate self-assesment. Either their ego over-inflates their attributes, or self-doubt underinflates them. I would think that you are falling under the second scenario. The only way to know for sure is to play the game. The Facebook photos say otherwise.
