I've had very similar experiences to yours, Keely. Although I've met some posters in person first, the posters whom I've met online first were as I had expected them to be, when I met them in person. Any surprises or subtle differences were usually interesting and didn't turn me off to them as people. Personally, I don't think that most people set out to be a specific "online persona". People often just favor one communication style over another, allowing some to express themselves more easily through written word, than others. The posts that we witness on here do not fully capture the full spectrum of someone's personality. It's just another piece of the puzzle of who that person is, or how he/she might be feeling at one given moment. These pretty much cover my experiences as well. When it comes to the 'Who am I' question the above holds true. I am the same person whether I am sitting at a keyboard, sitting around a table with others, or where ever life places me at any given moment. Simply put, I don't have the desire, time or energy to be something or someone I'm truly not, at any point or time in the world. Life is far too short, to be wasted on not being true to yourself & those souls that become part of your life.
