  1. That's hot. And you my dear, are easy! Really? If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  2. aarruhh? It's a long story. You really don't want to know. I'm still his friend , but my walls are not going to forgive him for a good long time. I'm thinking that if he does to "them" what he has done to me (making me live with old paint), "they" will go away sooner rather than later. Besides, I just wanted to get another jab in. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  3. Maybe you should offer this person a paint job. If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  4. I challenge you to find something in this thread that I have said to rsmn17 which called her anything equivalent to "a lower life form". Please dig it out and present it. Failure to produce said examples will be taken as proof that you are unable to substantiate your accusation, and that your charge against me is therefore false. I do not take lightly, accusations that I am mistreating women. Put up or shut up. Read again what I wrote, John. ...INDIRECTLY MAKING HER OUT TO BE... No. You never said anything to her, but you said an awful lot about the activity in which she took part and about the "sort of person" who takes part in such activities. She took part in the activity, so that makes her the "sort of person" you referred to. And do you think you could stop telling me what to do all the time? It really sounds like a control issue to me. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb

  6. Actually... ...the understanding that "death is forever" comes to children later than many of the other understandings they need to function in the adult world. I think this figures into at least some of the killings we see committed by children. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb

  8. Thanks for the exemption. You too, huh? Maybe we need a "Do you belong to MENSA?" poll, and then we can decide if skydiving MENSA members are hopelessly weird or just a little eccentric. I'd also like to know what members do at the meetings. Are there little 12 step ladder puzzles, for example? rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. 11. Being locked into a debate with people who want to argue my personality instead of the topic of the debate. Okay, that's not a fear. That's "what is the one thing left in the world that sends you into orbit?" My greatest fear is that something unfixable will happen to my daughter. Isn't that every parent's greatest fear? rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  12. Sorry. Couldn't help myself. I promise I'll never stalk you again. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  13. Okay. Using your scale, I'll answer the question: 9.5/6.5-7/9.5 The only person I ever dated who had an IQ substantially higher than mine was a disaster. He was so emotionally screwed up, I nearly lost my mind. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  14. I was given to believe that minimum IQ for joining MENSA is 140. Is that not so? I have passed the various MENSA tests (generally test excerpts from one magazine or another, not a professionally administered test) I've run across through the years, but the only members I know personally are both annoying and weird. Present company excepted of course. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  15. how fertile are you? Not fertile enough to get pregnant from swallowing. But that's not what I meant. I was talking about inside vs. outside, and I got stuck on the face thing. As long as it's inside, it's fine. Outside...it gets sticky as it dries, and I don't like to be sticky. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb

  17. I said he went beyond his skill set. I also said that this is something he has done before. You clearly have (and have had for some time) a problem with me, but that's not the subject of the thread. And every time I counter one of your personal issues with me, rather than acknowledge it, you come up with another one. It is not essential to my self-esteem that you like me. I really don't care. Just try to stick to the subject. If you think he demonstrated that he did not go beyond his skill set on this jump, then say so. That's the issue. You think I'm negative. Message received. The best thing to do about negativity is to avoid it, so why don't you just avoid me? Please. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  18. becourse you only post and dont jump? There are a lot of people who post here but don't jump, Faber. But I have jumped. And I spent a lot of time and money on base, even though it never benefited me directly. So what does my posting but not jumping have to do with it? Yeah, well, I see a lot of shitty, stupid stuff on this board. You'll get over it, just like I have. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  19. You made a lot of points, but none of them seems to speak to your thesis, i.e., that my post is not fair. Feel free to jump with him. It doesn't matter to me. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  20. On a nature trail at the wildlife center where I worked. We got caught by a couple who was taking the self-guided walk. I never saw the woman's reaction, but the guy cracked up. And in the back seat of a car with a mutual friend driving. In that case, I think, "caught" doesn't actually apply. I've got a couple more, but these were the first I thought of. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb

  22. This ignores that fact that most of his threads catch fire. It's really kind of remarkable the knack he has for starting posts that catch the eye and draw people in. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  23. I've never read the book, but I just don't eat fast food. I find it disgusting. When I was a kid, they could get me to eat the fish sandwich at McDonald's as long as it was made with cheese, hold the tartar (which meant it was fresh cooked), and when Wendy's first opened, I ate a burger or two (they were better then), but in a choice between fast food and hunger, I go hungry. It just grosses me out. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  24. I know my Stanford-Binet score as well as my range on other professionally designed intelligence tests. Using that, I tried to figure out the answer to this question last night as I was going to sleep. I couldn't make it work. And although I was the one who proposed this question, I find I cannot answer it the way it has been posed. But intellectual capacity is not the only measure of a man. Here are the seven kinds of intelligence proposed by one psychologist: linguistic, spatial, musical, body-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, logical/mathematical, and here is a test: http://quizilla.com/users/shrimpysteph/quizzes/7%20Types%20of%20Intelligence%20-%20Which%20is%20yours%3F/ My personal theory is that without EQ, IQ doesn't doesn't help one much. There are plenty of brilliant, unsuccessful people in the world. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  25. No. But psychopathy is neither a mental illness nor a disability. It is "other." You said it's an inborn defect. Now it's "other"? You're just dodging the conclusion of your own principle. No. I'm not dodging the conclusion of my own principle. I'm refusing to get locked into the two choices you've given me, neither of which I accept. I don't agree that it's a mental illness or a disability. It fits into neither definition, the same way that anencephaly fits into neither definition. So now we have "mental illness," "disability," and "birth defect." Another whole category with which to work. There are a lot of currently known birth defects for which people obtain abortions, Falko, so as our ability to test for those defects grows, there will be women who abort damaged human fetuses. But even now there are those who reject abortion for known anencephalic births. I googled it and was appalled. But other than anencephaly, I know of no physical defect that qualifies for what you're trying to get at. I do suspect that, however, that if we learn to test for psychopathy before birth, there are quite a few women who will choose to abort if the consequences of such a birth are made known to them. I'm drawing conclusions from your principle. No slippery slope here, just applying YOUR logic. But you keep trying to use definitions that I reject by which to do it. I'm not going to accept your definitions or the choices that you offer me. I'm saying that psychopathy is another category altogether. You think I'm wrong, you think I'm pitiful, and that's your right, but trying to lock me in again and again to your definitions is not going to work. I've already rejected them so I'm not going to pick them up again at a later date. This is a boring discussion because it just goes round and round. Can we stop now? One more thing: what about the topic of the thread? Should the sick old man be killed? rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
