I dont know of any special association btwn bourbon and Quebec City. Maybe Im missing something. I spent parts of many summers there as a child. I remember the stark poverty in the old section with poor kids running around everywhere, like Mexico City. But Cooper had no accent. Still he could have had some association with political sentiments in Canada, as expressed by the Dan Cooper hero figure. From the separatist perspective the Dan Cooper icon amounts to a joke, a put on, a stereotype for the powerful bumbling super hero to the south whose economy and culture affects everything in Canada, and some resent it deeply. I have no idea who Albert Weinberg had in mind when he cast his hero Dan Cooper. If this was something out of French or British culture, because the name Cooper has both British and French links. The name "Cooper" is iconic in its own right in literature, synonymous with adventure ever since James Fennimore Cooper. Its a powerful enduring literary icon in Western literature. Dan Cooper as a name follows in that deep tradition ... I am sure Weinberg was aware of the linkage. Whether the name had specific cultural linikage in Weinberg's mind, only Weinberg could say. But as you often say, readers could cast their own interpretations .... as DB Cooper may have if he chose the name on purpose to use. If Cooper chose the name by accident, it is a large coincidence. (edit] Europeans familiar with Tintin would see the name association instantly. Americans not familiar would probably miss it altogether. DB Cooper's association with the comic might have been casual but, if he chose Dan Cooper because of the hero specifically, then that establishes some level of political or cultural self identification - he said he had a "grudge". Grudge assumes some level of self identification in the larger social context, at least as perceived by the person saying: "I have a grudge". I almost hate to make say this or make any association - but look at Weinberg's dress. Look at the Cooper sketch. Formal ties in both. I realise this is a weak association. Some have attributed Cooper's dress to businessman, office genre, food server (Himmelsbach), and the like. It could also be standard European motif. Again, I can only speak from my personal impressions from my background. I dont expect others to make the same associations ... it has always been interesting (somewhat humorous) to me that out of all occupations and niche-social, Himmelsbach conjectured "food service worker". Low class pessant.

Here's a link to a DB Cooper-Albert Weinberg comment that might be interesting, if Snow will permit changing the conversation from trees up assholes to "do farmers die at 43F"! (he's just jerking your chain in case you dont know). http://comicanuck.blogspot.com/2009/03/pursuit-of-dan-cooper-rcaf-fbi-explores.html I have one weak statement that the FBi has talked to Weinberg. Is there more? Surrounding Weinberg is a whole circle of people. A kind of cult group of parachutists/hero workshipers/ artsy philosopher types, etc. It seems impossible they never discussed DB Cooper and that Weinberg would not have been aware of the Cooper case, and discussed it, possibly had ideas about it he expressed in some venue. All from a European perspective of course. I dont know if you've ever spent much time in EU, Canada, or Quebec, but its another world compared to here. Strong anti-American sentiments in Quebec. Its been like this for years. Stark European style poverty in Quebec City for example in the whole post WWII era leading into the 70s. An anarchists breeding ground, as opposed to the US SOG forces Snowmman/377 seem to so enamoured with. Either the hijacker chose Dan Cooper by accident, which seems impossible, or it is a direct reference to the US sterotype "Dan Cooper", and if that is the case then the choice of the name alone might reflect an anarchist act. The hijacking then a political act, not something heroic as so many people think. Any thoughts?

I've read what accounts I could find of tree landings. I've not read of any anal penetrations. Are they common in tree landings? Do farmers die if they go outside in the rain in these conditions? I suppose they can only stay outside for 10-15 minutes at a time. That would work. Là grand arent d'abrutis aussi que le vôtre. Oui. Les fermiers meurent toujours en-dessous de 0 centigrademont.

It seems Lyle Christiansen (Kenneth Christiansen's brother) didn’t like the Nat-Geo program. And Tom Larson is so sure that Christiansen was Cooper that he gets confused and calls him “Kenneth Cooper.” Now that’s good journalism, I don’t care who you are. Get R Written! tant d'aspirants, tellement peu d'heure ! [for Snow]: so many aspirants, so little time.

Those MF weapons are scary, but so are yours and yours leave no trace. How is the EMP prototype coming along? Using 256 of those two farad car stereo capacitors was a great idea. That terrain in the "two out" shot looks like a very rugged LZ, but you can't see the ground below which could be flat and surrounded by those awesome cliffs. Even if we dont solve the Cooper case I am learning a lot of new info about the Nam war here which is highly interesting. I still wonder what the FBI has that allows them to instantly disregard candidates like Sheridan Peterson? Any guesses? Or do they just shoot from the hip based on preconceived unproven theories about who Cooper was? 377 Pourquoi vous penseriez cela. Vos puzzles de processus mentaux je. Vous êtes fasciné par les petites choses qui ne sont pas importantes. pourquoi êtes-vous ici ? Je suis vraiment fatigué de votre merde bête.

Canada? How old is this estate agent ? We have all assumed that Dan Cooper was a fictitious name. What if it wasn't?!! How can you talk about Dan Cooper without talking to the guy who invented: Dan Cooper? Seems like a random walk in cyberspace to me ...

well if he went to the trouble to tie it shut and tie it to himself, then he must have thought he would survive. Dumb him? But how could we ever know. I told Sluggo once I had a new theory. Sluggo got all intense and serious. I told him I might have evidence the bomb detonated after Cooper bailed - all behind the plane ... which explained the "bump". Sluggo replied: "I wish I had thought of that!" I waited for about a day. Sluggo wrote back saying: ".................... nahhhhhhhh!". That could explain the black burned bills! Its a damned good thing I didnt get to talk to National Geo. A prop theory is the least I would have spun for them .... including those horses and the grizzly 305 was transporting at the time of the hijacking. "305 rose from SEA as slick as you please but somewhere around Merwin Lake the Grizzly got lose, and we arent sure what happened after that. Nobody would go to the back to look. All we know is somewhere around 8:11 the grizzly called back and said: 'Everything is fine'. It got quiet after that and we assumed Cooper was gone. One horse survived and we unloaded it at Reno. The grizzly slipped out somewhere between Portland and Reno!" Did Tom even get dinner out of those people?

Jerry carries a 16ft extension ladder with him at all times.

Also: Jerry proposed a model based on new inhabitants and their walking patterns, randomly exposing Cooper before Himmelsbach dies. We could model that probability? might have to get Orange1 involved though. Do it! I need a good laugh ...

Hit edit and then look for the attachment thingee. You are limited to 300k per image. Or just post a new message and add the pics in the Browse and upload attachment space. You must browse to find you photo first and click that. Then click "Upload Attachment" to get it loaded to your message. Its simple once you've done it. Good luck!

I spoke with a colleague of hers. He says there is an extensive slide data base going back ... way before 1971. Eilleen knows everyone working in the field. So the data base is available. Get together with Tom on this. He probably will say 'WTF .......'. I havent warned Tom this is being discussed, but he did know of our previous conversation about this, actually months ago - remember when we first talked about this? That is the discussion Tom will recall because I emailed him about it, to alert him. Now all you need are sample!

I think he tossed the bomb stuff before he jumped. Whether he kept the briefcase is an open question. I dont think it would float for long if it went in the water. It would be easy to test. Why not after he jumped? [edit] Geez Louise Im wrong! One hand on the brief case. One hand on the money bag rope. What does he pull the chute open with? You're right. He must have tossed the brief case BEFORE he jumped, not after. My apologies. Alequam Salaquim. Yes we should test if brief cases float. In a hurricane.

Yep that's him! Lives on rue des Chardonnerts in the old section. Walks his dog up by the observatory (plains of Abraham) every night. Has a limp. Will tell you he got it parachuting. The reason I havent called is because Ive been doing a lot of quick networking in the background, following Bruce's report. I now have some results for anyone to use: Jerry, there are diatom experts familiar with the Columbia basin (Portland & environs). One of these is: Dr. Eileen Hemphill-Haley at Humbolt Univ. who has been doing diatom research on the Columbia since around 1994; she has an extensive slide collection and has already collected samples from from a variety of lakes and streams adjacent to the Columbia. She can also provide contacts for others who have done similar (forensic) research in the same area. It is very likely a diatom data base already exists which any Cooper-related samples could be compared with. Tides: Tidal pools and areas affected by tides and diatoms might intersect. I am not saying they do. Evidentiary diatoms would have to shown to exist in the first place. We can communicate privately when it is appropriate.

I guess we won't know till he posts. Genius! You trully are an Einstein. But you invented Einstein too.
-
(edit) Tom can post anything he wants and it would be useful. Minimally I just want to hear the silver nitrate story, and if anything was found about the damn black bills! Quote You answered your own questions about the black bills ages ago, so go with that. 377 will point out you posted it and scooped everyone. You invented the Black Bills, so you tell us!
-
Isnt it pretty obvious. Snowmman invented Cooper as a child prodigy. Snowmman invented the Internet! Snowmman controls our weather.
-
Comments I made to Sluggo offline earlier now have context! So it appears 377 and Snowboy have hung the wrong person! They dont care. Another fire engine to chase will be coming up soon . . . get your spurs and your and lasoo and litlte red hat on Snowboy!

ship wakes were mention long ago - you were sleeping in the stands being entertained. Try for the wheel and fire?

Bruce I failed to ask... its important. In all of this did Faxio's say anything about their cows? Were their cows on the bar? Had they been sending their cows to the bar during this period? Anything about their cows during this period? --------------------------- Also, failed to ask in your conversation with Rat: Did you ask Rat what he meant by "... and I could see the suburbs of Portland coming up ...." This is key in all the Rat testimony. Thanks. Georger 1. Cows. The question never came up. I did see cows on the property, however, about twenty in a fairly large pen. Based on what I saw of the Fazios' current operation, it's hard to see how the cows could have gotten to the river. Or why. There are no good grazing lands between the river and the Fazio work buildings that I saw. But, what were the conditions in 1971, eh? 2. As for Bill Rataczak and Portland, I did not ask him about what he meant by the phrase, "I could see the suburbs of Portland coming up..." I sensed a wall when I asked, "Where were you relative to Portland. Did you fly east or west of Portland, or did you fly over the mettro area." "I don't know," was his answer and I didn't push it. So these are questions for the future. You have done SUPERB! work. Big congrats.

Chief, passions are running high. Suggest softening this. It cant hurt anything and might help - Georger

Glad this works for you. This gives me a chance to kick back and decompress. Ok on cows. So we are looking at an undisturbed deposit. Had been in place approx one week. Debris field roughly 200ft x ?? with heavier parcels below debris field nearer river (as per receding tide/ water?). Diatom analysis is now resurrected. Cant hurt. Happy?

Like the attached? How far up from river? What's the date of the week?
