I think a reduction in teen birthrates for blacks will have some longer term positive effect. Hopefully it will give many a chance to get a better education without being bogged down with the responsibilities of parenthood at a very young age.

White unemployment, while up, is still 1/2 of what black unemployment is. I think where you are wrong is your perception that Santorum is blaming blacks in some way. I didn't get that from the video. I got that he saw it as a pressing problem. But this perception is what you often hear me refer to as left-wing victimization. It isn't always real victimization but it's often incorrectly perceived that way

Are you more upset that he hates gays or that he hates blacks? Let's address blacks first. When you said you wanted to discuss substance, I thought you meant you wanted to discuss why black unemployment has gone up so much since Obama became President. Did you know that black unemployment nationally is nearly double that of white's since Obama became President? Did you also know that in many inner cities that it's over 50%? Perhaps Santorum was addressing what he saw as the most pressing problem? I mean why would he complain about white unemployment? Then you would be complaining that he didn't care about blacks.

There are those in this forum who think that dressing up as Santa and then shooting dead six members of your family is normal. Bullshit. I've done nothing of the sort. I've simply tried to defend a father from a viscous attack from a left wing rag. Had it not been for me actually reading the original article, you would still think he took a stillborn infant home.

The writer of this piece of **cough..cough** "journalism edited it apparently to appeal to the mentality of his readers. Here is what it says if you follow the link to the original story from the Washington Post This is why I fnd this so offensive to be attacking Santorum for this. I wonder how any of his critics would have handled this if it was their "child".

It says the baby lived for 2 hours. I thought even the most far out lefties only considered it a "fetus" before it is born. Seriously, you are starting to come off as very callus in your criticism of him. BTW, I don't care much for Santorum's politics but I respect his right as a father and a human being to grieve in whatever way he deems appropriate

So you still find it odd? Define odd. Everyone greives in their own way. If this helped him, his wife and his children to deal with this baby's death, who are we to judge him. At least he is teaching his children a lesson on the value he places on a human life as oppossed to those who IMO have a callus disregard for it. I suspect those who find this behaviour odd are in the latter catagory.
