  1. Do you think you have to be a member of this website to challenge Obama's birth certificate? I was trying to find a sign-up page but it doesn't seem to be there. Not that I'm a birther, I just wanted to see if they gave away any kool stuff like tote bags or bumber stickers, but they don't. Some club.
  2. I wasn't aware the "group" challenging Obama's birth certificate referred to themselves as "the birthers". Do they have a website or membership cards? Maybe decoder rings?
  3. It's a matter of scale, recency, decency, and sequelae. You'd make a lousy historian, on several levels. But as is your general pattern on these boards, you do make a fair-to-middling troll. Yes, it can take generations before the pain of slavery goes away. Oh, wait, it HAS been generations. How much longer willthe white liberals allow themselves be guilted into doing even more until they get over it?
  4. Apparently the people I celebrate the 4th of July with are vastly different than your friends. What I hear is that America is a great country that has fallen on hard times. they are positive about America being great again. I guess we just travel in different circles.
  5. And if Trayvon Martin had taken the common sense advice of continuing to the house instead of doubling back to confront/attack George Zimmerman, we wouldn't be talking about this right now. Or if TM had done what GZ did and simply called the Police, we wouldn't be talking about this now.
  6. Ever notice how white liberals rarely have anything but negativity towards the U.S.? Every country has it's history and it's problems. The 4th of July is one of those days where we should be celebrating what's good about America.
  7. And we didn't even have to get systematically kidnapped, separated from our families, beaten, chained, raped, murdered and enslaved for 300 years to qualify for it. Yay us! Obviously you aren't Irish. Blacks don't have some exclusivity on slavery and other abuses.
  8. I'm happy that we finally get recognition and our own day. Blacks got the whole month of February years ago. It's about time.
  9. With the current (conflicting) evidence, we have no way of knowing if Martin was "just being followed," or if he was confronted by Zimmerman. Being followed would probably make most people suspicious, and I agree that the proper action would usually be to call the police and let them deal with that person. If Zimmerman had followed that advice (let the police deal with the suspicious person), we probably wouldn't be talking about him right now. Zimmerman called the Police. And went off following the suspicious person rather than waiting for the police to deal with him. How do you know that? I can't be 100% sure, but the transcript of Zimmerman's phone call to police shows the dispatcher asking Z if he's following the guy, to which Z answers, "Yeah." I don't know of Z or anyone else disputing this evidence. Why would he call the Police and then go off following him instead of waiting for the Police to deal with the situation? Wouldn't it be more likely that he was just trying to see where TM was going so that when the Police arrived he could tell them which direction TM was headed?

  12. NOT a similar case. He grabbed a gun and went LOOKING for trouble. He was not under physical attack. It's a little bit similar. The Texas guy was under physical attack after he went to confront his neighbors (while armed). He even has video of the fact that he was attacked by the apparently drunk men. Zimmerman (armed) got out of his vehicle to follow someone who he perceived to be a criminal. And from Zimmerman's story, apparently the guy he followed (who turned out to not be engaging in criminal activity), physically attacked him. And it does seem pretty believable that Zimmerman was attacked, but only after unnecessarily following someone (and possibly confronting that someone, though that part remains unclear). I'm not familiar with any law that give someone the legal right to physically attack someone just because they are being followed. I'm pretty sure the proper action is to call the police and let them deal with that person.
  13. This just shows your personal slant than bring anything of substance to the discussion. Thank you for your substantial contribution to the discussion. Pot/Kettle
  14. Nothing inconsistent here. First it's not a tax,... --it's a mandate like Obama said. .....then it's a tax because Roberts says so,..... --exactly, that's how that works. The SC has spoken. .....now Roberts is "inaccurate". --Romney's opinion, which was trumped by Roberts' activist opinion. This just looks like another one of that folk-singer's flash cards in the other thread. (That wasn't you, was it? If so I apologize about the guitar comment.) So you see no inconsistency when Romney says "it's a tax because Roberts says so" and 2 days later Romney says "Roberts was inaccurate". Romney just wants to have it all ways, so he shakes the Etch-a-Sketch on a daily schedule. Scott Walker is even worse though, he just lies all the time. What's inconsistent? He's saying it's a tax because the SC says it is but he disagrees with them. He's acknowledging that it is what it is.
  15. Well, I'm not sure if we will see an upsurge in ice cream sales but look at the markets that will be openen up for air conditioning. Particularly in the northern States where traditionally central air conditioning sales have been weak. We just need to start imposing trade tariffs so cheap products from China and other countries that have lower labor rates don't horn in on the jump in production from American companies. Heck, I might even create an a/c division for my company. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
  16. Thanks for that info. I'm looking into buying stock in companies that make air conditioners.
  17. If Romney didn't have the Swiss Bank account Kallend would be railing on about it and questioning Romney's acumen as a businessman. It's a no win no matter what Romney does.
  18. And the Gov't gives it back to the citizens in the form of investments into companies like Solyndra.
  19. Who knows what else he is hiding? He's done a pretty good job keeping his offshore bank accounts secret. Yes, he might be a secret Muslim or a devil worshiper. He might not even be an American.
  20. It looks like he sucks at hiding stuff. He probably could use some of that "executive privilege" to help out a little. Yeah. If he gets elected, he could never get away with Gun Walking or leaking National Security secrets to the newspapers.
  21. Has he broken some law we should be aware of or is this just more envy?
  22. Doesn't have to. Where is it written that the ONLY taxing body in the USA is the IRS? I pay lots of taxes to the Great State of Illinois and to my county, township, city, school district... without any participation by the IRS. More non-sequitur babble. Will the IRS come after you for not paying your taxes to the State of illinois? What other collection authority does the IRS have other than collecting taxes and assessing penalties for non-payment of taxes? That duck is quacking pretty loud!! So according to you, state and local taxes are not taxes at all. Fascinating, but imbecilic. Not even close to what I said. Project much? Back to the beginning, what does the IRS have to do with Romneycare's penalties/taxes? Nothing. That was the whole point. So you didn't actually have a point. OK. Yes I did and everyone gets it except you. Thanks for agreeing there are differences between Obamacare and Romneycare. Either they both involve penalties, or both involve taxes. Whether state or federal doesn't change that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGc3ib49Iag
