  1. http://www.rollcall.com/news/nancy_pelosi_downplays_tax_return_demand-216283-1.html?pos=hln Seems Madam Pelosi is ready to move on now that the focus is on her and her husband. As one of our political leaders, we have to ask, what is she hiding? Does she have a Swiss Bank Account? Is she hiding money off-shore?
  2. I never said that. Knock it off with the SCBS. You said quite clearly that you'd support him even if he were a proven liar or felon, so what part of Bill's statement was inaccurate? I said I didn't care when he left Bain. I never said I would vote for him no matter what he did. And before you start your usual word parsing, I' not getting into a multiple page thread with you where you try and tell me what I said.
  3. I never said that. Knock it off with the SCBS.
  4. Try creating that Big Mo without Big Money and let me know how that works out for ya So your asking which came first, the Big Mo or the Big Money?
  5. Over Obama? You bet. So how far does this go, exactly? What if David Duke were the nominee? How about Joe Lieberman....a DINO if there ever was one? Goebels? The head of Richard Nixon? What if Romney were an orthodox Mormon bigamist? I don't care when he left Bain. When he left has no effect on whether I will vote for him or Obama. Especially since Obama has told some whoppers that make when Romney left Bain insignificant. Nice try at spin, though. Keep trying and one day you might be as good as Kallend.
  6. Fair enough. His father was a poor president. His brother was a horrible president. There's no reason to believe that Jeb might make a good president. Yeah, they didn't give enough free stuff away.
  7. He said that if he had to do it over again, he wouldn't do anything differently. I consider that a pretty harsh admission. He now knows that the deceased was living in the neighborhood, and wasn't up to any harm, yet he'd still get out of the car and follow the same chain of events, knowing it will result in a death? Blues, Dave I don't think he said that.
  8. Did you make the same demand of Bush, Jr.? Speaking of Bush, I think Jeb Bush would be an excellent choice for VP. I thought we were done with the whole monarchy thing. In a country this populous, the odds are statistically infinitesimal that the best candidate for the office is a relative of two previous occupants. Blues, Dave I disagree. Often traits are past down genetically. Look at all the actors, musicians etc. who have children that are successful. OTOH, look at the generational continuance of government dependency. I'm not saying it always transfers but I don't think it's as far fetch as you indicate.
  9. At this point it is all about fundraising. The money will "buy" the gains. There's more to it than just the money. It's about the "Big Mo"!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Big_Mo
  10. this If they break the law, then that's for the IRS to pursue, not the hacks of either party looking to construct strawmen for soundbites How do you prevent the Attorney General from protecting members of his own party?
  11. I agree. In fact recently many members of Congress who have been beating the disclosure drum against Romney were asked to release their own tax returns. They refused. I think it's more important for a member of Congress to disclose their financial dealings than a Presidential Candidate. Corruption happens over a period of time and the only way to prevent it is with the threat of being caught and punished.
  12. Then perhaps some other type of disclosure so that we know if they benefit from the laws they pass. I would even go so far as to say that they should not be voting on issues that they stand to gain financially. Perhaps all investments should go into a blind trust? I think the issue of corruption is much more rampant that we know.
  13. Don't you think when a politician passes a law that we have the right to know if he has any financial stake or stands to benefit in any way? Don't you think more transparency would result in more honesty?
  14. Please don't use this thread to bash Obama. That was not my intent. There are many laws that are passed which could benefit those passing them. I'm interested in knowing if people really want transparency in government or if they just want to use Romney's refusal to release his tax returns as a wedge issue.
  15. Given the recent criticism of Mitt Romney for not releasing his tax return, it occurs to me that since Congress has the nations purse strings and there could be laws that are passed which they could benefit from, that they should all be required to release their tax returns. Why should this demand only extend to a candidate for President? So what do you think? Should our elected leaders be subjected to the same financial scrutiny as a candidate for President?
  16. You'll be back sooner than you think. Hope you have a great time.
  17. I doubt he wants it. He probably has his eye on the nomination in 2016. In you perspective. I'm pretty sure Jeb Bush doesn't share it. That would pre-suppose he doesn't think Romney can win. That's a reasonable presupposition.

  20. They aren't in jail because it's nearly impossible to bundle campaign contributions from a cell.
  21. No I didn't. I pointed out how important it is to have accurate vote counts because many elections can come down to just a few votes.
  22. I believe the SC made the final determination. Oh, wait, that's right, unless they side with Democrats, they are biased and deserve to be mocked and ridiculed.
  23. No but I think it's OK to update the voter rolls and take people off who have moved out of State or died. Heck, I just got a notice from the FAA requiring me to verify my riggers ticket and upgrade it from a paper format to a plastic card. Should I get outraged about that?
  24. I think you are missing the point. If an election can be won or lost by just a few votes, don't you think the government should be responsible to make sure our elections are legitimate?
  25. Soory, I must have missed your answer. How many votes did Bush win the election by in 2000? What State was tht in. again? So now the State tries to do something to prevent it from happening again by making sure it's voter roles are accurate and you don't like that either.
