  1. You need to keep coming back so that you learn all of the muff chants.
  2. Hmm...what's your definition of wonky? Wonky is one of my favorite words. Discombobulated ranks up there too.
  3. Over the counter Sudafed compared to the Walgreens brand. Yeah, I don't get it either! I feel fine with the Walgreens brand. Sudafed makes me want to fall asleep in the plane.
  4. Sudafed makes me wonky, but the Walgreens version of it, "Walphed" or something silly like that, doesn't.
  5. I have touched them in freefall before, yes. I don't do it on a regular basis though. I haven't had any high speed mals, but I've had a few chops. I still do practice pulls on just about every ride to altitude. I figure it can't hurt. Sometimes people look at me like I'm being silly, but I don't care.
  6. I check mine under canopy, shortly after opening. Additional reasons: Cutaway handle -- It would suck not to realize that your cutaway handle is flopping around, out of its pocket. The potential cutaway, especially at low altitudes, would suck big time. Think about it: You're under canopy. Your cables are coming out and you don't notice. You're busy checking your spot, fitting into the landing pattern, waving at a friend. The cables slip far enough out. You suddenly find yourself at 500 feet without your main. Yikes. Reserve handle -- a reserve handle flopping around isn't good either. Potentially a 2-out scenario.
  7. 500:4:0 500 roses sold in an hour & a half, and more on their way! (selling them at work -- proceeds going to the March of Dimes). 4 jumps on Sat. All 4-way. 4-way makes me happy. 0 beer owed
  8. What is it that you always say... "If you can't take a joke, don't be one!"
  9. I don't remember seeing 2-Ring Randy on that dive. Did anyone actually see him?
  10. You're in good company. At least there is one other "nutjob" here! (at work) At least we have good group insurance. They have to cover us even if it's skydiving-related.
  11. Well, I had to do the same thing when I first started. I had 15 jumps, I moved and didn't have my own gear yet... I upsized though, and certainly didn't go elliptical. (I still haven't!) I had learned on a 170, and then my first few jumps after I started back again, in FL, were on a 190. (both Sabres) What did you jump at the new DZ then? And what were your prior jumps on?
  12. I was wondering about this as well. Going to a new DZ and jumping a different canopy is probably pretty common for people who don't own their own gear yet. They basically just snatch up whatever the instructors (or gear store owners, etc) say is closest to what they've been jumping. (hopefully not a smaller or more high-performance canopy though)
  13. I'm taking Business Law right now too. It sucks big time. We're currently working on contract law. Zzzz...boring crap!! The class discussions are okay, but these chapters are so dull. Good deal! Mine does not cover books. Oh well.
  14. Find a company that will pay for your schooling, get a job there, and then go back to school. I wouldn't be going for my MBA right now if I had to pay for it.
  15. ?:3:0 Saturday was icky, but Sunday was nice. 3 jumps -- that was all my ears could take. I love FL.
  16. We do?? Anvil: Hell no, I wasn't jumping yesterday. Way too damn cold and windy. My big coat and fuzzy pajamas are coming in handy this winter, yikes!
  17. Pretty blue skies today, but it's windy and cold! There might be some crazy people jumping though.
  18. Controversial...inappropriate...excessive...the verbage doesn't really matter. Companies will cover their butts at all costs and they found a reason to fire him. Can anyone give an example of one of his posts where he spoke about his company or clients? I haven't seen any. The content of the alleged letter and what the company really fired him for could be very different.
  19. I agree. I really don't have sympathy for people who get fired because they are on the internet or making personal phone calls all day long. What happened to Kevin sucks and the person who ratted him out is an ass, but it seems like the root of the problem was inappropriate and/or excessive internet usage. I would expect to be warned if my company had an issue with me...if he was never warned, that does suck.
  20. He is very persistent though...I'll cross my fingers for you!
  21. I feel like I missed a bunch of people at the z-hills boogie too! Like kelel01...but maybe I did meet her and some others and I just don't know it? Nametags would help.
  22. If I take a midday nap, maybe I'll make it past midnight next time!
