It ended up in my face! lol. i was blinded but still mangaged to find her and climb on. hehe. she got a little wet from me pressed up against her back! lol. the boogie was amazing. cant even begin to tell you all how much fun i had! froggie

hehehe. yeah, i know all about those 'old school' PLF landings but i tend to reinvent it when i land :) lol. i tried to but it didnt work for me. Before i knew it i was on my stomache laughing and okay. I want to get the damn PLF landing down for real, might keep my feet from hurting, my knees from aching, and my elbows from bruising. lol. and somehow i got this bruise on my thigh. just dont know how. lol. opening wasnt that bad, but then again, i dont have many to compare them to. ah well, their battle bruises and im proud of em. Its not really painful when you think about what an awesome time you had getting injured. lol. Ill get it down, and the bruises will be no more! froggie

tatoo stretching... well, heres my .02 cents. Right now im a young girl, I am by no means overweight, and im pretty damn happy w/ my body. So i got two tatoos that i really loved w/out letting the whole stretching thing be an issue. The way that i see it is like this: If i ever get to be a 'big' person, then im not going to be wearing the clothes that i wear now. If I ever get pregnant i wont be wearing baby tees, ill leave them for my little girl :) I love my tatoos, they mean a hell of a lot to me, and they do get the guys interest too ;) hehe. but seriously, i have no problems w/ the fact that i have tatoos on my stomache/side/back. Its who i am. and when im 80 years old and some nurse goes to take care of me, shes gonna see them and I believe that it will kinda say to her "this old lady was a young girl once. I wonder what else she did?" Too many old people are seen as just that~old. Ive done it before, we all have. So im actually glad that i might make that 20something nurse think twice about this old lady (in 60 years!)

skymama, hey. just a word of note here. I was happy with my body before i got anything done to it. Im even happier now. I seriously suggest getting inked. but only if its meaninful. sitting there for a long time (depends on the artists speed/size of tatoo) hurts like hell, but if you have the mindset that "im doing this because i care about something." or "im doing this for somebody" then its not going to be as bad. I love my tatoos, and am really anxious for my brother to get married so that i can get another tatoo. but i promised him no more until after the wedding so im still waiting..... froggie

kerb, glad to see that you are back in the air again. That must have been crazy, being in a plane crash! i cant even imagine. I wanted to give you a little advice from my own experiences. After having a horrible AFF level 4 jump i was really down about it. determined to fix it, but still really upset about how it all went. I didnt enjoy the freefall at all (the story of that jump is in the talkback section) Today was my first jump since that one.. I had the same instructor and she was just as determined as i was that i enjoy this one. She actually told me that we werent doing anything (besides COA and heading) until I gave her a huge smile, and was truely enjoying myself. I totally psyched myself up for the jump. even did some hooting and hollaring in the doorway. But it worked so perfectly! Going into the jump all smiles and ready to TAKE CONTROL really helps . you gotta have the attitude, im going to kick this jumps a*s! be proud of yourself, you got back on the plane! that in itself is a HUGE accomplishment. Its one step closer to taking a jump by its horns and having an awesome skydive! good luck, keep us posted! froggie

Wingi, did you take a bat to my package before you mailed it? :) or maybe the mailman is just getting even for all the times ive scared him lol in any case, the shirts were great, the chocolate was thoughtful, and the frog was sooooo sweeet~ wingi truely is the best! Thanks again dave! kel

head, like you, i just too the plunge. somehow stumbled across the threads and one particular thread caught my eye. I posted a really serious story and lemme tell ya, i had no idea how anyone would react. But they were great. really made me feel welcomed. and that is what started this. besides, i dont know how people can just sit on the sidelines and not comment on something!lol

oh what a day! Woke up and there were clouds everywhere! but by my last class heir were 3 clouds in the sky...So excited.. so i jump in the car to head out to the dz. I get there and meet up w/ stacy. But weirdly enough, I missed Dove! where were you girl? me and stac asked for ya at manifest and they said that you had left. okay, so i find myself a instructor and let em know that im ready to jump. But then I got called up to manifest. Long story short, my account got messed up cause of a tiny error and i was being told that THIS jump was not yet paid for! what? not paid for!?! Im not working, havent worked in 5 weeks! I dont have the money for a student jump that i already paid for! Really really long story short, I got my reciepts, they printed up my account including all my payments. deductions etc. etc. I ran around like crazy getting money ready anyway. but i was only 40 dollars short (forgot about some *minor* expenses!) and i had the cash... This took from 1:30 until about 3:45 to straighten out! So im ready to jump.... ive been at the dz for hours, and have had a really stressful day. But im not going to let that stop me from having an awesome jump. Get on the plane, and am totally set. I checked and made sure the helmet was tight enough before hand, didnt fog up the goggles :) and made sure there was no signs of a runny nose in me! lol. Okay, ride to alti was hilarious. As usual I left drool marks on the windows cause i was staring out em loving the view/ride. Okay, were last ones out, me and my instructor. This one jumper goes in front of me, on radio but w/out an instructor (she just wanted the backup). Its my turn to get into position. IF you guys remember, i was so not ready to jump last time. but I walked up to that door, and got into position. I screamed a few "whooo hees! yeeepiiii! Im gonna kick this jumps ass!" stupid shit like that. Smiling like crazy! Post! Out! in! Arch!arch!arch! (yes i still say that

lisa, im sorry to hear that you kid broke his leg. there should be a system set up @ this hospital for people w/out insurance who are single parents. You should really check out the hospitals web site if they have one. If they dont, find the # and call them! There are programs out there to help people w/out insurance. kel

I just wanted to thank everyone for their ideas/input and stories. Its a real benifit to hear that regular jumpers DO have malfunctions, and that regular people can handle a mal. It seems like a lot of people have mals early on, and the fact that they can handle them gives me a lot of reasurance that when its my time, im going to know what to do. If theres one thing I do everytime I go out to the DZ, its practice my procedures. And I have you guys here at dz.com to thank for that (besides my excellent coaches). Because of the numerous stories it was put into my head early on that knowing how to deal w/ a mal is one of the most important aspects of skydiving, no matter what level youre on. Thanks kelly

oh, no need to ask. Ive already heard all about your drunken web cam experience. lol sounds like you two had a fun time. froggie

hehe. My former boss and good friend, who also happens to be gay has a saying.... he is quoted as always saying "youve never been done until youve been gummed" So skreamer, why again would his dentures have been out of his mouth? and what exactly is your definition of a 'keyboard'? ROF froggie
-
Elisa, oh yeah! i almost forgot... if you need directions from philly me or stacy can help you out w/ that. its not hard at all. k. bye kel
-
elisa, are you kidding me?!?!? stacy says the weather for monday is gonna be nice, 76 degrees. Ill be lucky if i make it to my last class before heading out to XKeys. lol. so yeah, ill definitally be there, and it looks like stacy may be too. were both in need of a 'fix' and ive got to get that jump conquered. Just lemme know if youre definitally coming out, ill be sure to look for you. kelly

Billy, oh man. i know how that feels. My 24 started off w/ a building fire and ended in a medivac call.... busy as hell this shift. these 24's suck cause then all I want to do is sleep when i get done on saturdays... ah well, i got 7 hours of sleep in 3 attempts so im okay w/ that. Gotta stop denying we have a call when my partners wake me up cause tones went out... "kell come on. weve got a call" "no we dont, going back to sleep" lol froggie

billvon, thanks for the tip. We had just planned to go out to the DZ and let everyone play around w/ different techniques then just compare how each one felt from our 'patients' point of view. We actually do that alot. When drilling, everyone has to be a patient at least once. this way we better understand what our patients go thru. And lemme tell ya... Have you ever heard of Spider Straps? they attach to the spinal immobiziation board and are 'webbed' over your body, basically keeping you between them and the long board. It was a lot of fun cause they turned me upside down (hello floor!) to demonstrate their stability. but back to what you wrote... We will definitally have to improvise so that we can practice this w/ out actually cutting up somebodys rig. Thanks for the tip. Much appreciated. kelly
