hey guys. well it happened 5 times this past week. On sunday we had a jumper land in the trees. but he hit a small one and was already out of his harness fishing his parachute out of the tree by the time we got out there. So all i did was give him a look over and asked him a few questions to make sure he was oriented. He didnt want to go to the hospital. Then yesterday I had one person want their BP taken, another cut his foot on what we suspect was a beer cap when he was running thru the fire this weekend (laughed at him cause i witnessed the 'injury' then i cleaned it out), then i had another guy hit his face on the door frame when exiting~ cleaned him up and sent him to the ER to get a few stitches.. Today i taped up a broken pinki (that happened about 4 weeks ago, but it was bothering him today) So to say the least, some of my supplies are being wiped out but ill replace them tomorrow. At least nobody is getting seriously injured. Glad to see that i can help. kelly

thanks guys! but then id be talking to myself! :) I know what you mean, ill be sure to pay some extra attention to what the rigger does when he packs my 'fantasy' rig. I figger ill have it in about 2 months. Just gotta make the money to be able to afford it. yup, square 3 is right at my dz. Im definitally going to 'demo down' so to speak. dont want to rush anything. that wouldnt be the correct path for me personally kelly

mike, youre story is amazing, and a true lesson. Youre ability to concentrate, to realize and try to correct what was wrong.... It all shows what a clear head we must have to be able to save ourselves in times like that. I am so glad that you are okay. To your wife: im sorry that you had to have a scare like that. I cant imagine what it would be like to have been in your shoes, not knowing what was going on until you got there and saw for yourself. Youre a very loving wife to be able to say "get back up there in the air!" or something similar to that. So glad that you are still here to share your story with us kelly

tiger, yup! did the whole ride along thing this past winter at freezefest. Sunday night, sunset load. getting ready to watch them board the plane when the idea struck me "get in the damn plane! go for a ride along!" ran up to Toast and asked about it. before i knew it i was sitting co pilot with the headphone things on listening to air traffic control. I wasnt scared at all... Just something about the whole plane thing. I love em. but i sure in hell was cold! didnt plan on riding to 14 grand so i wasnt dressed apopriately. But yeah, i love me some fly alongs. thats why i begged a ride in the ultralight. My next fly along is going to be in John eddows Stearman biplane. cant wait for that one~ open cockpit, front seat! whooo heee! froggie

*** Anyways, Anyone else have (or had) a serious problem with heights before he/she started skydiving? Or perhaps still has (a bit) like me :) *** hell yeah! I still have a serious fear of heights. But its not extreme hights. Its like standing on the edge of a roof, only one or two stories up that really gets me. Climbing trees isnt that bad, you got the tree to hug onto. I flew in the ultralight down in carolina and that freaked me out for a second. But that was because the seatbelt rode so low on my thighs, It actually rested on my knees. My only true means of not falling off was the fact that i had a death grip on the center bar (a stabilizer? it sure wasnt one of the steering bars) Not having a rig on wasnt that comforting of a thought. IF i had been wearing a rig then im sure my grip woulda been a bit more relaxed. But seriously, i need some kind of harness not to feel fear. whuffos dont understand why i dont like rollar coasters or the merry go round. But when you think about it, a rig is such a gaurentee. It just shows how much faith we put into it, and the comfort we feel when were wearing one. Matter o fact, if i had a modified base rig then i just might get on that merry go round :) this way, if i did fall off, i could throw the PC. hehe. Gimme something on my back to get me safely to the ground or else i dont wanna go up! froggie

oh! almost forgot! weve got some fellow "fire walkers" for ya to hang out with. this weekend we actually had people dancing in the fire, before running out of it. Not me, but our bartenders were getting kinda crazy lol. So make sure you bring some old sneakers, so that after they get burned we can hang em up in the tiki bar with the charcolled hat and pair of kicks from this weekend. :)

speedracer, did ya get my message? In any case, im guessing that you did. Hopefully Jimbo will be back sometime soon. Jimbo, where are ya man? have those damned ohio-ans got ya all tied up? :) (dont get all defensive on me wingi lol) But anyway, its me, stacy, jimbo, fruce, and a few others too! Come down this weekend. If i were you i wouldnt bother with the whole getting a motel room. there are lots of motels in the area, but not worth it when you can just camp out. Bring yo tent, and a bar o soap, weve got showers :) By the way, this will be your first time jumping at Xkeys.... BEER! hehe. hey, lemme know when youre heading out here. I wanna make sure that we meet up, things get kinda hectic and busy here on the weekends. Dont wanna have to be paging "speedracer" all day :) lol kelly

my first pull was kind of frantic. I'm more proud of my first stand up landing. that was one for the (log) books :) lol

alan, woops. most of the folks here i also chat w/ in the talkback section.Im still going thru AFF, level 5 is my next jump. Right now im jumping a Navigator 200. I wont be getting my own rig for some time.. money, etc. etc. But it is something to start looking into. Im actually working at xkeys now, so im not really at a loss for experienced jumpers to talk to, i just want as many opinions as possible. and its easier to read something to remember it then trying to recall it from memory, ya know? Ill be sure to hook up w/ Krusey and pick his brain for a bit. Thanks for the links and for replying to my post. Im heading to the links now. kelly oh yeah! almost forgot... about downsizing to fast.. the dz has enough rigs that i can easily work my way down until im ready and able to fly a smaller canopy. ditch, Im sure that florida is totally kick ass but i gotta go w/ jersey on this one (naturally!). Listen, jersey isnt a big state. And if you move out here you got lots o luxuries. The jersey shore, the pine barrons, Philadelphia, NYC just 2 hours away and.... (drum roll please!).... Cross Keys! were flying the Frankenotter now, we've got the stearman up, weve got a cesna too, A balloon is sitting in the hanger, waiting to be launched on a beautiful day! Plus, weve got Monkey Claw here! the flying Gelardis (Georgie and Michael), We just got new bathrooms built in addition to the old ones. A tiki bar, A bonfire regulary, some kick ass Skydivers. An amazing packer (the person, not her skills :)/ tadem briefing room employee (me :) , Were busy as hell all summer long. Last season we put up about 240 students on saturdays. Plus fun jumpers like crazy. Our DZO's are cool as hell. We've got Skydive U run by Molly here too! Square 3! A delicious eatery right on the dz. a 6,500 foot hanger. A really amazing staff~the best of the best! oh man, i havent even touched on all that we have to offer! come to jersey! come to Xkeys! froggie

Kev, Totally kick ass that you scored 2 interviews! But as far as questions go.. just to keep from being repetative, if ya check out Troyhartman.com and read the site youll have some of your questions answered. This way, we can hear new stories from him, instead of him answering ones hes already written about. Just a suggestion. I have no idea what to ask either of them~my brain is fried from 3 days at the dz :)

WHoo heee! congrats to your dad! thats totally cool. Glad to see that hes still very active in the skydiving world! He rocks :) ....Speaking of a rodeo.... I somehow managed to get stacy and derrick thomas to do a rodeo dive today! it was hilarious. After she fell off they did a little RW and then Derrick manhandled stacy, gripped her up, pulled her in, and hopped on her back! it was hilarious! stacy was flappin everywhere. she had no control over it. no matter what she did, stacy was getting takin for a ride! ROF. it was hilarious.

Wingi, SEASON OPENER THIS WEEKEND AT CROSS KEYS!!! OH.. lol. my weekend started a day early, on friday afternoon. Worked friday. partied my ass off friday nite. Begged for a place to crash too :) lol. got me a bed friday nite. Saturday involved fighting a hot air balloon (that didnt launch) @ 7am sat, taking a staff photo (i was sooo trashed looking). Working all day sat. Bonfire sat nite. Yellin at the fools to stop running thru the fire. The DZO tells me that i was saying "dont go in the fire! youll get hurt! im too drunk to drive an ambulance! i cant help you if you get hurt!" Our friend Jerry came down from CSS and so did our friend Brandon. Um, saturday night was interesting to say the least. But this time stacy knew where i wandered off to~all her plotting finally came thru :) Sunday morning.. well, lets just say that it came bright and early. Took a shower :). Worked all day sunday~but didnt do much work. My mom stopped out at the dropzone tonight to see me (i hadnt seen her for more than 2 minutes since thursday) So that was nice to have mom out at the dz for a little bit. Um, watched some cool vids tonight. And now, its 9:08 pm and i have a book to finish reading (200+ pages) and a 4 page report to write about it for tomorrow. Have a group project due tomorrow. Have a take home exam due tomorrow. Oh wow. must get homework done. Must stop reading dz.com! Night all! Froggie Oh yeah! i ment Fruce this weekend! Hi frucenator!

Maybe w/ froggie going down the side. who knows. I shouldnt even be thinking about that. I need the container before the customizing ideas. Wait, i need the money first.
