Who's teh sexiest female skydiver on DZ.com? and why!
pilot-one replied to humanflite's topic in The Bonfire
Nicolesheridan is the hottest I think. I'm pretty sure she jumps at taft with her porn movie partner/husband and I think her real name is Melissa. She's fuckin' hott.....at least in her movies. The hottest non porn star skydiver is the chick that used to do the embroidery for VSE (Infinity) before they moved to Oregon. I don't know her name but I've seen a pic or two of her posted on DZ.com......Very sexy hottie. -
i know spoil sport. Yea well....what can I say....sorry.

Where to mount cam eye switch on a Cookie MXV
pilot-one replied to lintern's topic in Photography and Video
Just get the Hypeye. It's easier to reach the record button on the camera plus you have to reach back anyway to turn on the PC 105. -
No way would I jump but that's not the way it is at my dropzone. Very rarely do the tandems not jump. I have been sitting out a lot lately because of 10 MPH gusting to over 20ish. Maybe I'm sitting out too much....nah. I like my bones the way they are.

Although commonly referred to as a religion Buddhism really isn't. It's both the natural & spiritual, and it is based on a religious sense aspiring from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, as a meaningful unity instead of a higher being. I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure Brian Germain is Jewish.

Holes in reserve pilot chute mesh - limits?
pilot-one replied to pchapman's topic in Gear and Rigging
I'm not really sure what is acceptable or not in rigger's circles but to me NO holes are acceptable. For Christ's sake, isn't your life worth the hundred bucks or so a pilot chute costs? -
USPA reaction to Duanesburg incident?
pilot-one replied to maestrabella67's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Did you hear any good things about all the awesome tickets their pilot held. Comercial[sic], Instrument, Multi Engine.... no? Funny the FAA didn't either. I don't think the pilot's tickets make or break any dropzone anywhere. That's not to say a good pilot doesn't make a difference. I think when people talk about other dz's the pilot's credentials are never even considered. When's the last time you talked about a DZ and wondered what ratings the pilot had? Do you even know what ratings the pilot at your dropzone has? -
High Winds: Putting theory into practice
pilot-one replied to FlyingBlueJay's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What if you're comfortable on the next size up but not so on the size you're on? How do you get comfortable on something you will never jump with your theory? There's got to be some point when the transition is made where there will be a higher pucker factor. This isn't my situation whatsoever. I'm just playing devil's advocate. -
You mean the video where Kent is kind of interviewed by some guy with a pony tail? I can't remember that guy's name right off hand.... I don't remember that part of the video. I guess I'll have to go back and watch it again.

High Winds: Putting theory into practice
pilot-one replied to FlyingBlueJay's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Ironically it has been unseasonalbly windy in my neck of the winds...I mean woods. I have not jumped for almost 3 weeks now because of 10-15 MPH wind gusting to over 20 and sometimes 30. It amazes me how many people jump in these conditions, have a partial canopy collapse on final and report back that it's not too bad. Most don't even know what their canopies are doing. I see the low time jumpers that don't know the difference and the higher time jumpers that think they can handle it. If the wind is steady, 22 or so is my limit. Gusting more than 7 MPH difference and I'm staying on the ground. Period. I'll wait around a week or two or even a month rather than wait 6 months for my broken ankle to heal or worse. Although not always indicative of favorable conditions it is smart to watch a load or two before you make your call. -
Well said.

I'm pickin' up what you puttin' down bro'. But I don't think they're being dishonest. It very well may be illegal I really don't know. I'm a lot of things but I'm not a lawyer. To me it's doing business in the free world. Like I said: If you don't want someone else to have it then you better get up early to get it first. It would be nice if they would relinquish the URL to Cookie. But very rarely does the nice guy finish first.

They don't divert anything other than your attention. That's what advertising is all about; Getting your attention. I'm not sure where this comes in. I don't see any trademark infringements or any deceptive use of a trademark. Does the Royal website use the Cookie name or copy their products?

Obama Backs Oil Profits Tax, Attacks McCain
pilot-one replied to StreetScooby's topic in Speakers Corner
Yea that's it. More give aways. That's what we need. Or is that take aways? If you're on welfare you might like Obama. Otherwise you are in for a wake up call. -
Skyrocketing Fuel Prices -- Ways for DZs to Save
pilot-one replied to ZigZagMarquis's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'd like to know which operators do this so I can make sure to go somewhere else. -
The early bird gets the worm. This why some people get ahead and some people don't. Although seemingly deceptive if you look around this is how a lot of advertising works. Ever see a Cabela's billboard in front of a Bass Pro Shops and the Cabela's is 100 miles away? I don't like it either but I don't see anything wrong with it. If somebody is looking for Cookie they'll find them. Royal is just showing that they're out there too.

Where do you buy 2K Composites Helmets?
pilot-one replied to sd-slider's topic in Photography and Video
Michael at the Orlando tunnel is a 2K dealer. He's part of the management team there and sells helmets with a very low if any markup. I don't have he email address handy but you can just call there and ask for him. -
Holes in a reserve - to patch or not to patch?
pilot-one replied to hackish's topic in Gear and Rigging
If you have to ask then I think you need both -
Julio is wonderful to work with, and he is very fast. I love my Liquid Sky suit. I'm not really convinced. Could we see a picture of you in your jumpsuit please. Several angles would be nice.

I am behind you on your quest but you did title your post bandit jumping. I think by definition bandit means illegal.

New skydiver, asking if this is a good deal...
pilot-one replied to skydivecarol's topic in Gear and Rigging
I would not call it outstanding but if the gear is in good shape it probably isn't bad. Even though the rig has few jumps on it there is no telling where it's been, how it's been stored and where it was jumped. Not to mention the fact that it probably has more jumps than what they say. The only thing that matters is what it's worth to you. If it fits and you like it than quite possibly it may be worth more than what you paid. I buy all of my gear new without hesitation. Some people think I pay too much but I really don't care what anybody else thinks. It's worth it to me. Get it checked out and repacked and have fun jumping. -
How could you ever think to look in your packed parachute for your missing altimeter? And the big question is: How did it get there?

You're exactly right about the line conditioning. It's all about a system. No one component in a system will be that much different. If you put a known high quality power cable on an average audio system I guarantee you will hear no difference. Next time you're in San Antonio come over to my house. If you're experienced in "listening" to hifi I guarantee you'll hear the difference.
