    Looks like my statement was too broad (I was still swimming in the topic of intelligence manipulation). When determining whether someone lied, you can proclaim that it was absolutely the case when you have absolutely condemning evidence. If you do not have such evidence, then any conclusions up with which you may come are then uncertain opinions, at best. Better?

    Not just these folks, but how about politicians in general? Scrutiny is not at all a bad thing, particularly towards those who routinely engage in underhandedness virtually as part of their job descriptions.

    Good point. It's been a while. If that were the case, we'd see the same kind of stuff happen in Saudi Arabia, or many other neighboring states. I think it has less to do with their being Muslim, and more to do with many other circumstances. Take another similar example, for instance: retaliatory violence against blacks (for such pernicious activities as looking at a white girl, e.g.) in the predominantly white Christian South during most of the last century. In that case, how would "Christians do tend to fly off the handle at everything?" sound? What effect would it have? How could we rephrase that so it's not only more accurate but also less inciteful of broad prejudice? See my point?

    Funny how people, in general, seem to become violent when they feel repressed, backed into a corner, desperate, or otherwise provoked. It's great that we can pick some common trait among them (niggers, towelheads, kikes, etc.) to demonize and use to help spread prejudice and hatred. Because, as we all know, prejudice and hatred are Good Things.

    Unless you're very, very close to the situation, you cannot know this with *any* level of certainty, much less to describe it with, "flat out." Just remember what kind of subject it is with which we're dealing. You can say, "Based on such-and-such info, it seems that this," and be much less vulnerable to being wrong.

    I see your point when the situation is defense against a single criminal; however, what about situations when there are a group of criminals? What if I'm outgunned, outnumbered? If there's a group of criminals charging my front door, I'd be willing to bet that I'd be much more effective at eliminating the threat by lobbing a cooked-off frag grenade at them than switching my selector switch from safe to semi/burst and attempting to take down each member of the group with bullets, particularly if they're also armed. And my shrapnel is a lot less likely to cause bodily harm to unintended targets than stray 5.56 balls.
