Im sore from having to arch REALLY hard to stay with two other jumpers since Im kinda of small.....I just arched as much as I could...could not feel it in freefall...I feel it today Very sore! Try arching for a min. on the ground ( really hard) it hurts! In freefall you can't feel it.

1. How far should the reserve pin be from the housing? 2. (The two rings that secure the cable). can the reserve pin get caught on it? 3. Should the reserve pin be fully seated all the way down in the pocket or slightly a little slack on the bottom? I have a TJN

You or I can plainly see its hard to explain it ....if your not looking right at it . It can get caught on some material at the top of the the hole to the housing is under. This is not how it came and its going back to the way it was.

My reserve housing was pushing up or should I say bulgging out on the top of the container ( at the neck) My rigger suggested he push the housing out of view and thought that would help get the reserve pin flap to flatten out more. To make the story short. Now my reserve housing is out of sight and not as close to the pin the rings are in the middle. I think that since the pin is so far from the housing that if I had to pull the pin could get caught on the material at the top of the reserve flap. You can not see the reserve cable housing now unless you lift up the flap and the very top of the closing flap you can see the housing . I think the pin should be closer to the housing to avoid getting caught. Thats how it was. I do not care about a bulge if it is not going to hurt anything. Tif

What about a t-shirt and no panties all chick skydive like that.

I want to do one on my 100th...that will be in Nov most likely or before. It will be cold . I will do it as long as I plan a safe alternate landing area and have clothes there to put on or I can just wrap my canopy around me. I want to go out of the cessna by myself though.

How do you tell if the kill line has shurnk? If you have a pc in tow and cuttaway first, is the cuttaway force going to be enough to release the pin? I was taught that if you have a pc in tow that there is nothing to cuttaway and to pull silver. But now Im not sure I would like to be sure of clear air when my last chance comes out.

Its a 135 loaded at .9 I weigh about 105lbs.

Im a girl and sometimes I do like to be spanked but in this case my Sabre 2 is designed to open slower and I never roll the nose. There is no need to with the Sabre 2.....I still get a slow opening...my last jump Im not sure if it was end cells closed or a prolonged snivel
-
And I really can not remember how high the slider was. I know it was not flapping though.
-
Im not sure now that you mention it. Mabe it was a prolonged snivel........If so I need to make sure I leave more slider out when packing. The slider was not making that horrible flapping noise until the ends opened. What do you mean by leaning on the rear risers? Can you elaborate......?
-
If it not were for you (Richard) I would not be where Im at now with my canopy. Iremembered what you said about letting the canopy fly you all the way down and I lifted my legs up and started to flare and it finally came together for me.......I still have work to do though.

When I rolled mine up like a hot dog it came out so easy but most jumpers do not approve of this method. After I make sure it is cocked I lay it out with one piece of bridle going striaght down the middle. Then I fold it down like a half moon. I then I take some more bridle and fold it striaght in the middle two long layers and a last short fold. I take the pilot chute and fold the half moon shape corners and place the ends on top of the bridle on the middle. This looks like a dress. I then roll one side to the middle then the other side to the middle ( very tight). Its ready to stick in and it pullss out VERY easy.
-
If I fold my pilot chute like Brian, it is going to be VERY hard for me to pull it out due to the taunt pouch. Mabe I should have the pouch loosened by a rigger.
-
Thats a good idea........I'll start trying to do that as long as there is no mud on my toggles like yesterday. That landing reminded me of the slip and slide I used to play on as a little girl But it was soft anyway.
-
I like to start at the top of my steering lines take one line and take my fingers and rub it all the way down to the toggles. I wnat to do this at least every three jumps.....
-
Im gonna start doing a line check after every other jump to check for tension knots. There was a tandem cuttaway caused by tension knots at my DZ this weekend.
-
Should you land a canopy with the end cells closed? (You have pumped and pumped and still the slider is not all the way down but you can steer the canopy). Is it ok to land like this? I had my end cells close up for a while as I was pumping I was getting far away from the DZ. FINALLY they opened and the slider came down and I made it back to the DZ right at 1000'.
-
Finally I had a soft landing.......I had to have my brakes shortened and this solved the problem.I love my Sabre 2 now

Does it really matter how it is folded? ( as long as it is cocked ,of course) Being the weakling that I am I have to roll mine so it comes out very easy (This would also depend on how taunt your pouch is. Mine is taunt.) I was shown a new way in which you grab some of the bridle, bunch it up , take the piolt chute crunch it up and shove it in.......So my question again does it matter as long as it is cocked? (Im only refering to the botom of the rig when it is ready to be folded and put in the pouch, Im NOT refering to how to route it I know that must be done a certain way.( Im only doing RW mainly belly flying if this is a factor and I think it is). Thanks for any advice freebird
