What would be your dream canopy? (type size color)
freebird replied to Viking's topic in The Bonfire
A canopy with alot of rainbows and fairy people. A canopy that would never mal. A canopy that would beep when its time to flare. For real I have a Sabre 2 135 and I wish I had a Triathlon instead. My dream is to get 1500 dollars for this Sabre 2 and order a custom colored Triathlon. -
Quote -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- conclusion: The main parachute apparently opened with one steering line released and one stowed, which would cause the parachute to turn or spin. The stowed steering line was easily released several times during testing on the ground by a master rigger. Quickly pulling down on both steering lines at the same time may have corrected the problem and eliminated trying to guess which steering line to release. If for some reason the steering line could not have been released, the better choice might have been to releaes the main canopy and deploy the reserve, altitude permitting. Does this mean one of the toggles came out of the holding band or velcro? was it flapping around? If so why did'nt he see it? Or is this something completely different. What os going on with this mal? " ah geez" "The two of you's dummy up" ! Archie Bunker

ok I went back and put in .9 is my desired wing load. Now it says I should in under a 144 I have a 135. Oh well Im landiong it pretty good
-
I know. I just thought mabe the least minimum size should be a little higher........
-
Even if it is the minimum (the least possible canopy size you should jump).ooohweeee..............
-
The flying characteristics of the canopy have to be considered (of course). I was still shocked to see what it recommended for me.
-
Go to gear and to wing load calculators and it calculates your recommend canopy size. I jump a 135 as of now. I load at .9. The chart calculation recommends I can jump a 108 loaded at 1.2 ( with my weight and gear) I don't think so not yet........
