  1. You are mentaly healthy and lucky that you are comfortable doing your own thing. Nothing worse than somebody being "not functional" just because they are not paired up. Even suffering being miserable because its better than being solo.
  2. We love ya buddy! come on down. You need this! remember that wingsuits will be going off. And it will be more laid back than rantoul. You need the WS divergence from your TM drudgery remember? To keep you fresh. Besides sunshine is going to rape you sump'n fierce, with video even!
  3. How about the Cobalts? Cobalts do have crossports in the 3rd and 6th cell its just that they are about one half the area of the rest of the crossports, thereby metering a smaller amount of cross ventilation inflation.
  4. True, but very few manufacturers have ever advertised their canopies as so conssistantly soft as to be able to "handle the higher deployment speeds of todays freeflyers" Those "randoms" suck at 120mph. Imagine 180mph. Maybe the product can ( or cannot ) do this without structural damage. Maybe your body can ( or cannot ) do this without damage, who wants to try? Maybe our bodies are already damaged Actualy from my limited experience on the product in question deployment speed does not play as great a factor in opening hardness as does the nose, slider tail does. If I deploy without fully recovering from the speeds of head down with a decent pack job I tend to get a longer snivel. If the pack job is mediocre or suspect in terms of the above three items " hammerage" will occur regardless of the deployment speeds. Of course I have never deployed in steady state high speeds of HD or sit, don't intend to either.
  5. Ryan is your stowless bag patterned for one those reflex or trident style containers? Is it available for other rigs? Interested in making it available for jumpers using other rigs?
  6. If you are flying relative then you are not in the flight regime that benifits from holding your grippers to max the suit out, you will be trying to match not max.
  7. Do I have to give the instructor patch on Jari's old prototype suit back? Sorry bad joke
  8. How long does it take to drive from Perris/Elsinore to Eloy? Six hours for a belly flier, four hours for FFlier.
  9. I don't use credit cards. I'm SOL now. Maybe they'll take a check. Sigh... Yeah I remember when I was in the witness relocation program way back when.
  10. Looks to me like you need a brush fire to save you.
  11. It does sound like a freeflyer practical joke doesn't it ? Although normally one of them is usually stoned during the joke. This guy had a website : rocket man or rocket guy, something like that. Tech TV did a tour a few back.
  12. First smack him for being so stupid as to stay. Wendy W. Quote I lived this long because 1) I pull stable and 2) I don't smack guys that fight fires with one hose all alone. Larry is a bad mother f***er!
  13. It seems thought that the openings on Cobalts are an intrinsic characteristic of a particular canopy not a trend across sizes; just too weird. Quote My introduction to the cobalt was on 150 loaded about 1:2. It was the only cobalt that had the true patented "2-stage" opening. It was really scary soft with no pronounced changes in the amplitude of the forces from pin pull to full inflation. It flew for a few moments in only three cells. It was what really sold me on the product, that and the overall performance. Every other cobalt I have jumped was soft but didn't demonstrate the two stage opening as that first 150 had. I have been smacked on my other cobalts that I literally saw stars on a few occasions but I did not pack those and have become mindfull of who I let pack for me now. And I'm no superpacker by any stretch. I just pay attention to , like you said, the slider being on the stops and the tail being tight. Overall the rest of my pack job is not pretty at all, its really kind of lazy. I have also experimented with varying stow tension and changes in PC size as I have several d-bags and PC to play with. The greatest factor for me has been the slider, the nose ( whether I leave it hang or push it back a tad ) and how tight the tail is rolled.
  14. Yeah I get it now. I tend not to do any kind of jumps with this type.
  15. We now have JP "El diablo" resident BMI in our backyard so he is available on weekends. But before that some of the sanctioned BMIs here and passing by had a shady rep. Shady enough that most of the new wingsuiters just soloed it sans the suspect "instructer". Hopefully JP can represent. Wingsuits are taking off! The fact my classic has double the jumps as a loaner than what I put on it is a testament to the disease.
  16. I helped out with the overflow at rantoul and was happy to do it. Myself and friends have loaned spare suits to experienced jumpers and staff and joined them for their first. I have taken up newbies that I could vouch for their skills and just would have done it through the flight school @ my DZ but contacting me was a more convenient option. During a big way camp I was approached by quite a few visiting experienced jumpers who wanted to be taken up on their first flights. They were bummed out when I told them I only had one spare suit and wasn't affiliated with any of the schools or staff. I recommended they contact the flight school on monday when the Boyz would be back from an off DZ boogie, most of these jumpers would be gone by monday so there was no joy.
  17. I'm thinking he gets a free tandem skydive. Glad to hear everything made it. Derek Hail Larry the Ultralighter!
  18. Only way I will be below you is if I wasn't on the load. If only we could figure out a way to have our riders carry a lance we could have jousting matches LOL I'll just have to wear a modified version of bonehead's spiked helmet but with a much bigger spike. Ramming speed! Or rider hand to hand combat while flockers maintain parallel flight path. How about a wing to wing transfer like in the barnstorming days? Yea now!
  19. Laugh and plot while you can oh follicley challenged one for I have yet another course of action that will devastate you and your rider to no ends. I shall not divulge my secret weapons as it will be a quick, clean and decisive blow that I and my rider shall deliver unto those who choose to oppose us I shall crush my enemies, see them driven in chains before me and hear the lamentations of their women. My women never lament.... and in flight you will not be above me you will be B'low me!
  20. Wingsuit + water is no good, just don't do it!
  21. [ Gonna be a supah stah!!!!! I will rule the sky! BIRDMAN! Quote Be advised, monkey head, that I have stolen your rodeo rider VanillaSkygirl for the duration, you cannot possess! After a radical wingsuit rodeo featuring the knife-edge maneuver, the russkies patented "cobra" maneuver . Spiraling head down and upside down flight all designed to test Rosa's ferocity and my susceptibility to G lock, she held on and just smiled wanting more. She lasted the whole flight which did include some controlled and stable flight eventually and wanted more, she is mine on ANY rodeo games of the event and we are starting our team training as of now. Suck it up, realize you have already lost. West coast distributor of "the pain"
  22. Nobody got such a nice pic of my double diamond when I chowed, I'm jealous.
