This is the only skygod I've seen IRL... "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

I never used a digital altimeter, but from what I saw in the pictures, vids and in real life for example Viso2 shows only 3 digits, so when I would set it to meters, it would only accurately display the alti below 1000 meters.. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

The Great AFF Experiment has been an Abject Failure . . .

Maybe Nick just misses the "good old days"...? "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean -
So while browsing the new ParaGear mag I came across this digital altimeter, which looks really nice, since it shows 4 digits, perfect for meter use, because it would show full 4500 meters, while Viso2 only shows 3 digits from what I've seen.. http://www.paragear.com/templates/base_template.asp?group=5#I11880 Anyone using it, opinions? Mhm, you actually got a point there, I was thinking more in terms of FF

Who needs a visor anyway? You look way more cooler without one, but with goggles + you get to feel the wind on your face "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

Landings ... I am frustrated beyond belief!!!
Sangi replied to OlympiaStoica's topic in Safety and Training
I'm flying an old 195 Falcon right now, which has really shit flaring power, but I don't have any problems with it in no wind or windy conditions (I'm very lightweight though, I weigh around ~140 lbs without gear)... I can only talk for myself and it's really all in the timing (at least for me) of the flare. Depending on the canopy off course, most new canopies need a 2 staged flare, while old ones like Falcon (or any student canopies) need a good timed 1 stage flare.. Landing on a relatively windy day into wind is by far the best in terms of a soft landing.. I've tried a few down winders with my old 195 Falcon, I was doing a 2 staged flare, which is kinda wrong with that canopy I guess.. First down winder was a real slammer to my feet and hit hurt real good (this damn old canopy doesn't flare for shit), but I managed to outrun it, the second one hurt as much as the first, but at the very end of my run I slipped and slammed on my butt lol... You can check out one of my many landings here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpLEeuLvm5w There's also a landing filmed in one of my jumps on a 190 Briz (russian canopy which is basically a copy of spectre) doing a 2 staged flare, but not really finishing it properly though.. http://www.vimeo.com/5534479 "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." Here's a vid from PIA showing the GAS helmet.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnUmfkwtqSY "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

You could just take off the visor and use normal goggles while still having a good head + teeth protection.. Who needs the visor anyway, it's awesome to feel the wind in your face "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

Skyhook RSL snag on door handle, at pin cover flap
Sangi replied to pchapman's topic in Gear and Rigging
Ok, I'm most likely gonna get something witty from you pointing what a dumbass I am but anyway.. How in hell can you cut the lines when they are all twisted and curled up in "one" thick tight line with a hook knife, while at the same having all this vibration and twisting and moving and shit...? "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean -
Beautiful stuff there

Women come and go... You will meet another one day and all the stuff will repeat, no doubt... For now, go skydiving and chill out.. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

Well what do you expect from 2 feet asian men with 2 inch penises, they get beaten by their own women... "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

Yeah I kinda overlooked that lol, stupid me, cheers

The reserve flap looks really small and flimsy at the end, kinda like wings containers reserve flap (which from what I've seen tends to open up in freefall), does the infinity reserve flap opens up in freefall as well? "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

Yeah....soft landings? How do you do it?
Sangi replied to shah269's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Well, who's else fault could it be? You're the one flying the canopy "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean -
Still sounds like shit being restrained at the age of 20 and still listening to what your mommy tells you to do.. No freedom for your child, but shackles. It's as if she's going to lose her whole life and career if she takes up skydiving, it's like she can't study and skydive in her free time... yeah right, BS IMHO. Also If that's one of the reasons why she's worried, then she should take her kid out of college too, cause oh boy what shenanigans there are at college.. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

Some loving from the family when they're trying to be control freaks with with no good reason, I thought if you truely love someone, you give them freedom, not shackles... "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

Oh well, too bad for her then. Not fun to watch and the skies and not be able to be there then

A service announcement to all skydivers...

Nope. All I'm saying is that what one person might love, another might hate.. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean -

Quite a bold statement you're making... "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean -
It's still weird you abide to her rule.. If I were you, I'd do that behind her back.. It's not her call to forbid what you do with your own money for fun, seems very wrong to me, specially when she doesn't give you any reason as to why she's forbidding you, again seems very selfish, prolly must of had some bad experiences in the skydiving sphere herself and prolly got some complexes left now, for which you have to suffer now... "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

But why would she forbid skydiving? Is it that she fears her daughter might get injured and that her studies would suffer from that? A question to the daughter: did you pick medicine on your own, did you want to go into that branch, did you feel interested in that or were you kinda forced by your mother? A lot of parents force their kids into medicine, cause they want them to make big money (which would benefit the parents) and so they could brag to others that their child has such a special specialty..
