>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> If Mike Mangold was flying the Pitts Special biplane, it would be totally cool! The guy used to fly F4 Phantom fighter jets for the USAF. He currently flies for a major US airline and has been known to fly Twin Otters at Perris on weekends. The guy has a few thousand skydives, having competed in 4-way at the National level. Last thing I heard, Mike was on the US Aerobatic team. I would be totally Way more comfortable than when we were in an inverted spin at 2,000' over Perris, in his Pitts Special! Hee! Hee! oops, I don't wish to turn this thread into a disagreement on how close jumpplanes should fly to each other. And I don't doubt that Mike Mangold is an awesome pilot. Buttttttt, there is absolutely no excuse or reason to fly jumplanes in super tight formation. Flying relatively close trail formation usually no big deal, if the aft a/c is positioned correctly, but to put a wing anywhere near another a/c's aft fuselage is a cardinal no no with a bunch of jumpers on board. Sure the Thunderbirds do it, but they have ejection seats. I'm sure Mike could do it (hell I've done it in my younger, dumber jump pilot days), just saying it's not wise. For the non-pilots out there that no zip about formation flying, the airflow off another aircraft can f*&@K up your whole day rather quickly and kill you. Otherwise, cool pics. -
Plane Insurance companies? Any recommendations?

Rick, who you flying with? Buck -
I can't donate blood here in the US due to me living in Europe back in the 80's. Any "madcow" issues to address? Otherwise, 24 hrs is the min time to "fly" after blood donation. And that would be flying passively as a passenger. Skydiving is strenuous and more time should be allowed.

Almost Forgot........Waller, Texas jumpers!!!!

LMAO! That's wx for Houston, "PA" ???..... H-town, TX is wonderfully warm, blue skies, no humidity and light winds...... -
I say quit school. The world needs more people to perform manual, grimy, dirty, nasty ass type jobs. {Not that there's anything wrong with manual labor type jobs.}

http://www.aopa.org http://www.avemco.com A couple of the more favorites..... And for a list..... http://www.globalair.com/directories/details~/ID=%7BD811338F-6DFF-11D3-B34A-00A0C9FB1C9A%7D Edit to add: Although you might have to be a member of AOPA to acquire their insurance...not sure. Premiums must be a bitch for a jump plane.... -

The Otter in trail pic is nice. Probably was a photo op. But if a Biplane put their wing that close to your Otter, that just is plane wrong........ -

I've seen lots of airshows.......Oshkosh rocks the hardest. I'm flying back in again this year. My 3rd Oshkosh.......yea baby! Edit to add: But I'm not sure if the T-birds nor the Blues perform there. But still a great mix of military hardware and tons of civilian performers/acts.
