Got a cold? Thinking of doing a skydive anyway?
Beerlight replied to EFS4LIFE's topic in Safety and Training
What I am trying to get across to people is that you could be clearing fine, like I was, but if you have any sinus fluid in there you could force it into your inner ear doing so, and if you haven't experienced what that does to you trust me you don't want it to be on a skydive. It is not just a clearing issue. That only will cause pain. I am talking about something entirely different that jumpers should know about. Your info was good. I have more experience in this area than most, I was just adding my .02. -

The greatest pressure change is from sea level to 10,000 feet. So, even a hop n pop can do you in if you can't clear correctly. -
Looks like they did a great job putting in down during this off-airport emergency landing. Thanks for the update, sad to see one of these great aircraft destroyed.

Beautiful....! Sad to see it end.

I think they know where you live. Edit to add:

Well, this time it's not a Shuttle maintenance issue. Russians are concerned and they pulled out their trump card. Hopefully you can juggle everything and make the launch!

Maybe asleep. And waiting on the massive kneejerk out of the FAA after the media runs with this story all day.

Just in. Reactor core still contained.

Hope they recover quickly. Such awesome people. There is video at liveleak.com, but I'll let someone else post it, if they wish.

Great to see two AIR FORCE guys flying today! And wasn't it nice of Steve to give Eric a little "stick time" coming around the HAC!

The flight team has just given a “GO” for payload bay door closure. The weather at KSC's Shuttle Landing Facility is currently observed and forecast “GO for the first KSC landing opportunity at 11:58 AM EST. The “GO/NO GO” for the deorbit burn is scheduled for about 10:32 AM EST. http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/ustream.html

I was using the non-disposable (non-foam) ear plugs in the airplane, but I was taking them out for freefall. Was worried about equalisation, since they were made from solid material (with no vent-hole in it). I will give these new one a try! If you put them in at ground level, have no issue going TO altitude, then you will not have an issue on descent. Boyles Law wil be your friend.
