Yep, real sure. The Hospital and Lindsey were separate installations. Lindsey had all the Comm stuff but also they were our "home of records". So, maybe you're getting confused in that respect. The Hospital was about a 10 - 15 minute walk from Lindsey.......Weird, but I lived at the Hospital barracks, worked at Weisbaden Army base 15 miles out of the city, and drank beer at Lindsey NCO club.....woohoo......

Do you recieve a hard time from your co-workers about skydiving?
Beerlight replied to nubain1's topic in The Bonfire
Guess I'm lucky, where I go to work, jumping is actually encouraged.....But, uh.... I am in the military....! Funny thing however, they do discourage ......motorcycle riding??!!!!! -
Wiesbaden? or do you mean the (now defunct) Hospital on Lindsey Air Station? the one they took the Iranian hostages to? My father was stationed there for 9 years.. You're close. However, the hostages weren't taken to Lindsey AS, but to the Air Force Hospital which was about a mile away..... Two separate military installations altogether... Buck

Funny, last nite, much time on hands, I was listening to SoCal Approach via some site, and an airline pilot said, "I've been flying for 31 years, only really been scared 3 times, and this was one of them".......He sounded shaken....Something about storms and loads of icing....... cheeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrs, Buck

Don't mean to go on a tangent here, but, Sarge were you at the barracks in Beirut when that happened? Reason I ask, not long after that happened I was pulling badly injured Marines off Blackhawk helos at the AF hospital in Weisbaden, West Germany.. This terror thing has been going a while. Just wished to know...

Chris, Is there such a thing as a cloud clearance exemption? Or maybe it was a joke...As far as I know skydivers fall under the same VFR cloud clearance minimums as aircraft and there's no such thing as an exemption. over? Buck

You gotta love how these "anti/pro war" links get going.... I'm still on active duty, don't mind the peace rallies. Just please don't think that the US "military" are the ones running this show.... BTW, Let's not knock other countries just because they disapprove of US government views. I love Germany, their culture (ok.. especially the beer!) and the French. Everybody's got their take on how this whole war biz will pan out, but thank god we live in a free country where you can voice your opinion..... Eat, #$#^, skydive, Buck

Thanks for all the info guys... Couple benefits to me would be having Tinker close by (since I will be retired AF) and the GS-12 job to start! I live in Ole Miss currently, we do have tornado's, but they aren't too bad, and well, I guess I could buy a home with a basement in OK? Wonder if they need any pilots at any of the DZ's ya'll have included. Cept' SK Dallas, I don't have the hours or ratings for the turbines yet.....

Just thinking again, but is there any chance the left main dropped out of the well? Thus inducing the yaw thruster initiation battle? I noticed a lot of LMG downlock signal errors.....
