  1. deva you don't remember me do you? i know who you are but maybe you don't know who i am...i don't remember if we were ever introduced...i claim SDD as my home DZ even though i trained with aggiedave and malachi at eagle flight in granbury...maybe we can meet one of these days, unless we already have and i was too drunk to remember (no offense!) cheers, sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  2. i don't want to miss out either, but i love going to new places so i would go just for fun don't worry i am not getting involved in your business, but i won't ever let anyone mistreat pam and turn my back sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  3. jt, jessica and i have never jumped together for various reasons...we have hung out several times but never made it up in the sky together! :( i would like to jump with both of you while i am in dallas...i didn't know you have started going to SDT, jess.. i met jt this weekend but didn't get to jump with him! see you again soon, dude! sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  4. I want to go if you guys go somewhere new! I would rather do that than jump without you two! Have you called any of the other dzs to ask what they are doing? I was thinking of driving to see one tonight while I am in Tulsa. See you soon, I hope! Sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  5. I plan to go to Rome next week while I am in Georgia...I was told they have an intentional cutaway rig and I want to jump it. Do you know if they still have it, Dutch? sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  6. A word here...I haven't dated a whuffo since I started skydiving, but a LOT of guys (whuffos) I meet who find out I jump really dig it! Some of them tell me I am crazy, etc. but a lot of them want to go (they say, anyway, I have yet to see one do it) and they seem to be attracted to a woman who is brave and "ballsy" enough to skydive! There is this guy at the liquor store I always go to who told me yesterday that he has been trying to call 1-800-skydive since I first came in the store while he was working. (Got the # off my Skydive Dallas T-shirt.) I had to tell him that unfortunately, the 1-800-Skydive # doesn't work from our area. It calls Skydive Miami...which is a bit out of the way! Apparently the # only works from the Dallas/Fort Worth area! Anyway, blah blah blah, I know, I am wordy! Point is, some guys really come onto me using skydiving as an excuse, apparently...especially at bars when they are loose! LOL As far as relationships go, however, I don't think it works very well with a whuffo unless maybe you live pretty close to a DZ. My ex-whuffo and I are really good friends, and we have discussed the fact that while we were together, he was jealous of all the time I spent driving out of town each weekend to skydive, while he sat at home and looked at the walls. That was his fault, of course, because I invited him and he wouldn't go! Anyway, who could blame someone for being upset about that? you're supposed to "BE" with someone but you drive 350 miles to spend each weekend half-undressed with a bunch of testosterone-overloaded men? right.... whatever, i am blabbering again. i really need to jump. over and out. sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  7. counting??? me?? lol...i count food calories, not liquor calories! i tried it a few times when i was being brave, you know, if you can jump outta planes you can drink scotch...i tolerated it, but i am just not a whisky gal. i like all hard liquor except gin and scotch...i will drink crown royal or jack d. once in a blue moon... i like bombay sapphire gin in a martini with raspberry liquor and vermouth but that's about it on the gin market...otherwise, pour it up! i'll drink anything else, even straight vodka and straight rum...doesn't matter to me. although, i am trying not to be so alcohol-rific these days. the thought of drinking straight vodka gives me the heebie jeebies, just because i know what i might do under the influence of THAT! ok time to go to skydiving! talk to you folks later! i am OFF the beaten path, to oklahoma i go! woohoo! (it is a great place, really
  8. Scotch is some fucked up shit! My mom drank Johnnie Walker Red for years and years, and my dad still drinks Chivas Regal. YIKES!!!! I could never be so desperate for alcohol that I drank scotch. Ugh! Pyke, why does everything revolve around sex with you? Your first sexual experiences at 15 huh? So when did you lose your virginity? Ooops...TMI TMI! sorry Sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  9. uh, ya, wingie...that was it! hehe sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  10. GOOD point, Lazer! I often explain it that way...like, I am going to die anyway! Fuck it! Here is a statistic for ya'll: Number of times per day Sis takes a shower: 1-2 (2 if jumping) Now for those of you who know what that means...please interpret!! hehe Sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  11. In case I don't have time to get online with my laptop over the next week, I want to go ahead and tell all of you Happy 4th of July (ESPECIALLY MY U.K. buddies! hehe) and happy jumps! I plan to jump my ass off with Pammi, Merrick, and Kris from a Caravan! woohoo! I would like to request that you all "pray" or do some kind of "virginal sacrifice" for me as my landing skills seem to be getting worse and worse. I was saved the last time by mud! We are going to do our live water training so that we can all get our B licenses one of these days...for some reason, jumping in a lake with an open parachute over your head and trying to find your way out sounds like fun to me! LOL Everyone be safe, don't drink and drive(I am trying to cut down on that myself as well) and don't forget to PULL!! (your PC, not your thingie!) Love to all my fellow altitude addicts, The Sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  12. Woohoo! Another sale! Slowfaller (Chris) just bought a necklace! Way cool! Now I can say that after about 15 gift necklaces, I have 2 "for-profit" transactions! "FreakThreads" is in business! hehe Sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  13. Oh yeah, Pyke, you forgot to mention that on the jump we got 16,300 from in the CASA, I didn't exactly flash the pilot, but I didn't exactly NOT flash him either! hehe They were already going to give us well over 15 but they were so nice...I was talking to them the night before at the boogie...and for the first time (I didn't tell anyone that, there was already enough beer on hand) I decided I should show a little skin! Those guys deserved it! Perfect spotting every time! Who knew that cleavage could take one sooo far?!?! I will not be so hesitant to do that again in the future... Sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  14. BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!! I am fucking rolling dude! how funny! You people get hypoxia easily or something. That day I went to 18K MSL without o2 nobody on the load had oxygen OR hypoxia...of course, they say you can't tell you have it, but I swear, that was one of the most lucid freefall experiences I have ever had. I left the plane last, and watched a 4-way Air Force team turn points until they opened, then watched them land near a cesspool over one mile from the DZ, as I floated over them, and managed to land standing-up, within 10 feet of the peas! One of the best jumps I ever had! Either hypoxia makes me a better skydiver, or I get worse as time goes on! LOL Sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  15. Now we know what is wrong with Pyke! hehehehehehe Sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  16. I haven't sold many of the necklaces, I make them as gifts usually. I need to make Wingnut one next. My whuffo ex-boyfriend wants one, with a closing pin and all (? I don't get it)too. Anyway, I am a bit slow so if I was selling them for profit like I wanted to, I would have to get on it! I have been busy being "Bobette Vila" and doing home improvement for the last two weeks. Sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  17. The quickest route to a better self-esteem is....self-promotion!! hehe j/k sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  18. Ok, I finally had time to read this thread...and I am LMFAO!! hehe Spectre...I live in the Panhandle, and YES it does smell sometimes...but not all the time! The worst thing about it is no dropzones! As for the rest of Texas...it is a beautiful state and Texans don't fuck cows! Texas girls have lovely voices...just ask a few of the guys on here who have heard me talk! Jess...we gotta stand up for Texas females! Men in Texas don't have to use cattle, they have girls like us to keep them warm at night, right?! Sis (I missed you too, Mike...glad you are back!) It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  19. the rest of us will catch up *one day* sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  20. Hi Carrie! Glad you are back with us! I am soooo jealous - a life like yours...awesome! Enjoy your new place on the beach! Blues, Sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  21. I've never done high-alti jumps with oxygen, but the highest I've ever been without O2 was 16,300 AGL and another time 18,000 MSL (which was at a DZ at about 6K elev. so we went up to 12K AGL) Sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  22. the harness is too small... It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  23. Geez, I don't know how many times I heard the argument "Get something made in the USA" when I was looking at my HORNET! Well, these guys are right, it makes no difference. I have an "Affordable Rig" from Rigs N Things with a Dolphin, Hornet, and Tempo Reserve. I love it. My measurements were a bit off so my Dolphin doesn't fit just right but otherwise I like it a lot. They didn't have the tuck tab optionn for $40 last August when I bought mine...if they did I didn't know it. Anyway, with that you would still be paying heaps less than many other rigs, especially if you buy the complete unit from Roy. This thread was about main canopies though, so here is what I say: I love my Hornet more and more. Now that it is broken in (about 30 jumps or so) it is even better! I don't have off-heading openings or anything like that. I just have to roll the nose to get a softer opening. One of my long-time friends, who got me started skydiving actually, has two Triathlons, and although he loves them, he encouraged me to buy my Hornet. He just happened to get his Tris at a really great bargain (they were used.) He said that if he hadn't found those, he would seriously consider a Hornet. (He was one of the few people I had met at the time who had actually jumped a Hornet before, and I totally trusted his judgement, he's a cautious dude!) By the way, does anyone ever search the archives for this kind of information anymore? I mean, there have been about 6 threads on Hornets and probably like 10 on Dolphins, just since the new version of DZ.com came out at the first of the year. Not that I mind, really, but I think if you search and read prior postings you could possibly glean even MORE information than you are going to get now. My. $.02 Sis It isn't brave if you aren't scared...
  24. Poor Lisa, having to cut good deals for her fellow skydivers!! hehe I got a cable modem and it rocks! I get so used to it that when I go out of town and use my laptop, which has a 56K modem, I am like pulling my hair out! LOL We are SO spoiled these days! Think about it! Not just internet/computer technology, but what about skydiving gear? I have had countless conversations with old timers about how much better the gear is today...then I go off and bitch because my harness doesn't fit. Horizontals are 1" too short AND it was custom! Oh well, I got nothing to complain about right?? Right, so I got off on a tangent there...guess my point is: High Speed Internet Access RULES!!!!!!!!!!! but at least we have the net... Sis The road to hell is paved with good intentions-but sometimes, good intentions are all we humans have.
  25. Well said, Speedo...er, I mean Speedy!! hehehehehe Fuck the spell check! (It is still a nice feature though, Sangiro! hehe) Sis The road to hell is paved with good intentions-but sometimes, good intentions are all we humans have.
