I wear contacts under my goggles...I too make sure they are nice and tight. I think I had a contact in backwards one day because it popped out during freefall and stuck to the inside of the goggle! hehe I didn't have any major problems or anything. I have seen a few people wear glasses under their goggles and a fewer number who wear prescription goggles. Whatever your decision, try to keep a backup of *something*...I take a pair of glasses in case, but I have not tried wearing them under goggles; they are an old prescription and I don't like them. On another note, as most of you know, I am having LASIK surgery soon so I am incredibly thrilled about that! It will be sooo nice. No worries, bro, lots of people jump who can't see without glasses or contacts so you're not alone! You can even learn to skydive if you are legally blind, but let's hope we don't have to go there! How "really freaking blind" are you anyway? I am told I am somewhere around a -5.50 with a double astigmatism...or approximately 20/400 as a conservative estimate. I just know I can't even read a book without my contacts unless its RIGHT in front of my face! Cheers and good luck in your jump training! You'll do fine. Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

Only 7 more posts (after this one) to go before I become the first female Veteran on dz.com!! woohoo! Now doesn't that just go to show how much I LOVE you guys?!!?! You keep me sane when I can't jump (which is a lot!) See you in Happy Hour - where is it going to be tonight? Slappie's place? Or shall we have a change of venue and make it the new Para-Chat? Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

Whoa, Traveler, sorry! You're right, there's not really any other place to ask. Hope your instructor doesn't hurt you! Be careful... Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

There are a lot of male instructors who are sluts...but not all of them are... Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

I have had "relations" with someone who has a frenum piercing and it was great!! (It wasn't Wingie, though, LOL) I just had my first relations since getting MY new piercing... It was great! WOW! What a difference! (as if I needed any help!!) Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

***In reply to: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just found out I am going to be able to have LASIK! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cool! When are you gonna have the surgery? Just be sure to keep your eyes well lubricated after the surgery.....and don't buy any of the cheap, store brand lubricating drops! A friend of mine learned that the hard way.. I am *hopefully* going to have it around the beginning of October, so I can jump at the Halloween boogie...The price is steep compared to some that people posted a while back ($1800 per eye) but I am totally confident in the surgeon and don't want to travel far away just to pay 995 an eye at some quack clinic. In reply to: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a job interview at 2:45 so I'm a little nervous about that... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What kinda job? At the computer lab at my college (West Texas A&M Univ. - yeah go ahead with the Aggie comments! Dave and I are used to it!!)

Here's one: I read in the latest issue of "Skydiving" that last year there were over 40,000 chainsaw-related injuries and fatalities. Keep me away from the garage! It really is safer to skydive! Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

Let's see... I just found out I am going to be able to have LASIK!

Thanks, Milo! I appreciate everyone's stories...these accounts of what to expect right after the surgery and stuff are what I was looking for! I'll hopefully be finding out on my own soon...and possibly be able to pull off my 100th jump (without contacts!) before too long! (I need goals!) Blue Ones, Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

Hey Phree, There are just some days I am not motivated much either. That is why my second number was kinda low...Monday I was just not into it. I used the word "motivation" a couple of times to describe it when my buddies asked me why I wasn't jumping. Weird feelings that day, even though I didn't have a friend's passing to deal with... Anyhow... Don't worry, come see me and we'll work on our numbers...jump numbers, I mean!

Cool, thanks Roy! Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

Sweet, Chris! I only wish the pics were larger...I thought when I clicked on them they would link to a larger version of each, but instead they went to the next photo. For "blind" people like me, they could always be bigger!

My main concern is skydiving recently after surgery though, as in weeks or months. I have no doubts that things will heal up enough to do almost any activity within a reasonable amount of time. Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

Man, that's NO SHIT! My eyes are tired...and I didn't read every single word... Anyway, congrats Michele... Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

Hey my accuracy isn't bad! Its my no-wind landings that need work! And I feel pretty comfortable under canopy, too...

I am really glad someone brought this subject up again, because this has been on my mind too. Tomorrow (Wed.) I have my first appointment with the surgeon, for my consultation. I already know I am a candidate but you still have to have that first consult. Anyhow, I can't wait to have it done. I wondered about skydiving as well...I suppose it couldn't be any worse than losing your contacts in freefall...as blind as I am THAT was very scary. Good to know I won't have to wait months or anything before I can jump again! Sis (hard contacts in the trash SOON!!)

This coming weekend is a CReW camp at Skydive Dallas...I REALLY want to go...but I don't know if I can make it down there 2 weekends in a row. If anyone in our area is interested, the seminar is at 8:30 AM on Saturday and Wendy Faulkner is bringing PD Lightning Demo Canopies...you need to sign up though. I can't remember the name of the guy who is teaching it but he's world class, from what I understand. The best part is that its free! Just pay your normal jump ticket. I asked what the experience requirements are, and they said you can be right off getting your A license IF you are comfortable flying your own canopy, do not have adrenaline overload (b/c its pretty exciting and you might panic I guess) and land where you want to pretty well (i.e., good accuracy). Of course, the more experience you have the better! Isn't that always the case?? LOL Hugs, Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

Hey slappie! Sorry I missed saying goodbye to you...yeah, I was sort of...out of pocket at the time! hehe...I wondered if you tried waking me up in my tent...didn't work since I wasn't there! hehe That party was MASSIVE. I won't even go into details about what I consumed, inhaled or uh, yeah...I passed out at 4:30 and didn't get up until 11:30...you guys were already gone! Thanks for the compliments, you are a sweetie yourself! I can't wait for you to come back and make some jumps with me! Hugs, Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

Yes, don't bother asking US (Pam and I) what WE would like! hmpf! I vote for Board Slut. Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

I don't think they would cancel the party, no. They would have a riot on their hands! LOL Cool, new friends! Bring one, bring all! Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

"Internal"- type piercings heal mcuh faster and with far less pain than others...Average complete healing time for these types of piercings is around 4-6 weeks. External piercings, such as ears, nipples, navels, noses, eyebrows, and others heal slowly. Average time 3-6 months. Sis I lust for the ultimate rush...

I think I am going to have to adjust my plans slightly: Today - still driving to SDD. Will be late so find a place to sleep. Saturday - raining. Sun might shine, might dry out runway enough for plane to take off...but I will still be finding a rigger to my gear back together and repack the reserve. Saturday - probably weather holds all day, drink early, get toasted. Sleep in waterproof tent! Sunday - who knows? JUMPING?? hope so. If it has rained too much it won't matter because of the damn runway. Drink a lot and still plan on attending the Hawaiian Luau. Ruin grass skirt by getting it muddy. Where is Jessica dammit? We need to drink a beer together!! Sleep in tent. Monday - I have no idea. rain? sun? jumps? drive home early? a lot depends on my hangover... Slappie, I know how you feel...weather forecast is yucky!! Mouth, from what I hear, you won't be sitting at the pool looking at the sky being mad because its supposed to rain there too. On the other hand, that will make you mad too. Wine is still in order. I lust for the ultimate rush...
