  2. Wait a minute... I'm getting packed to head to Rantoul.... NO MORE OPENINGS ABOVE 3000'.... Just trying to be safe... Chris
  3. Great! The Cessna 182 is everywhere and the Bird-Man suit will soon be everywhere! The two have and will continue to mix. Expect very positive reactions from all who experience them. Chris
  4. work.... 70 miles driving... 1 hour and 25 minutes 43 nm flying... 21 minutes... (1000' runway at the plant, park the cessna and walk in the back door!) dz.... 3 minutes driving (including stopping for coffee) Chris
  5. Cessna's are great for Bird-manning! Most of my flights are outa 182's. I prefer to crouch inside the door facing forward and hop out into the relative wind (simply hopping over the step). Once I've cleared the step I open wings and fly with the cessna. Great view of everyone else following. My only complaint is the nylon butt of my suit slides on the carpet and I usually look like I'm laying on my back the entire ride up... maybe I'll sew some velcro to my ass so I don't keep sliding around on the carpeted floor... Chris
  6. ______________________________________________________________ Hmmm. Maybe some skydivers really are idiots with death wishes. ______________________________________________________________ Wow... That's exactly what my mother said after I made my first jump. Chris
  7. Eclectic Star... (no spelling typo there). At most of the dz's on fair to larger sized airports, you'll find a 3-phased welder. This means... 3 phase power of either 220 or 330 volt supply. We're talkin' much more fun and capacity. Now here's the fun part...(wait disclaimer... don't try this at home, etc.). As each person enters the star, you'll notice, upon grasp, the eyes go right or left. with 3-phase, simply move any wire and you have changed polarity. Try again and the eyes will go the opposite direction. Again, Do Not Try this at home. Chris
  8. uh.. pDave Jr... not a real good name for a girl...

  16. The delivery time makes me think only one thing... Thank goodness I'm a guy! First of all the specifics... 7 lbs. 12 ozs., 19 inches... head full of hair, and as Beezy claims, "Everyone in the hospital agrees the most beautiful child ever delivered..." Perfectly healthy, (including correct numbers of fingers/toes, etc.). we do have two winners... we got a late report... sorry I didn't get the live play by play to report... Chris
  17. SHEEEEEIT... I was guessing 8:15 cdt... guess I'm out... along with freeflir29, spy38w, cyberskydive, skymama, wildblue, scottbre, phreezone, (like the time you picked, beezy would've liked that!), hobbes4starr, plfking, divadiver, nick, hisgoffyness, lummy, skybytch, and skydive monkey. Still looking at winning are skygod7777, sunshine and mattwhoo... now this is not final results as more guesses are possible from others. AND, perhaps some of the later times could be winners because beezy and tracie have been too busy to call with the official time... if you haven't guessed yet, heres your chance to win... another report, the doctors broke her water at about 5:00cdt... gotta be soon! Chris

  20. "8lbs, 7 1/2 ozs." That's a pretty big guess!
  21. carry high or low? geez, I don't know... they didn't even try the wedding band on a thread or look at the chinese calander or look at beezy's weight gain over the pregnancy or anything... no telling at this point... chris
  22. Beezy Shaw (of Precision Aerodynamics) is currently at the hospital awaiting the delivery of his newest child. Guess the sex and Win 40% off any Ground Zero main canopy from Precision! Here's a little background... At this point, no one knows. Beezy and Tracie decided not to determine the sex at the ultrasound. They wanted a surprise! Tracie is full term and few days past expected due date. This is Tracie's first! (Read BEER!) Last report is (10:40 cdt, Wednesday, June 26th), She's currently dilated to only about 2 cm. Labor is being induced. There will be 2 winners.. in the event of a tie (more than one person guesses the correct sex) the two persons who guess the correct sex and guess the closest delivery time, will win certificates for 40% off any Ground Zero main canopy. So guess the baby's sex and delivery time.. Good luck everyone (and Tracie and Beezy! Chris We'll announce the winners as soon as we get the news!!
  23. WOW ANOTHER !*@ PROBLEM... I'll report back when the investigation is finalized! (pull out your worry-hats) Accident occurred Tuesday, February 12, 2002 at Santa Elena, Venezuela Aircraft:Cessna 182, registration: YV-1150P Injuries: 4 Minor. This is preliminary information, subject to change, and may contain errors. Any errors in this report will be corrected when the final report has been completed. On February 12, 2002, at 0745 eastern daylight time, a Cessna 182 single-engine airplane, Venezuelan registration YV-1150P, was substantially damaged during an emergency landing after takeoff following a loss of engine power during initial takeoff climb from Santa Elena de Uairen, State of Bolivar, in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The commercial pilot and the 3 passengers sustained minor injuries. The airplane, serial number 182-64501, was operated by an unknown operator as an on-demand air taxi flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the revenue air taxi flight for which a visual flight rules (VFR) flight plan was filed. The flight was originating at the time of the accident. The flight's destination was Canaima, Venezuela. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Any further information may be obtained from: ....... Why are we using bandwidth with simple aircraft incidents? Attempting to cause fear in the passengers(skydivers) who ride these mounts? Trying to prove we're superhuman pilots for not crashing our personal duty aircraft? What's the point here? Chris
  24. "Regis#: 2516G Make/Model: C182 Description: 1952 CESSNA 182B, SKYLANE " Don't you hate it when the FAA can't even get it right... (I know the NTSB wouldn't have blundered such, those guys know what they're doing!) The Cessna Company began production of the 182 in 1956 (not 1952!). Any self respecting straight tail cessna fan can tell you that a "golf" tail number would indicate 1959... (although a very few were manufactured in December of '58)... but look at the tail number ... N2516G... Definitely a 1959 Cessna 182, also the very first production year they were called a "Skylane". Chris
  25. zipties provided... no charge... along with rubber bands, pull-up cords and many other restraining devices at the Precision tent! hehehe looks like fun, (maybe a bit painful, but fun!) er, uh, .... is uh, Derek gonna be ... umm ..ya know outa town that week?
