  1. What experience? Looks to me like you don't really have any yet. Not too long ago I jumped a Crossfire 190 (with mod) that was way more aggressive in both turns and recovery than the Nitron 170 I jump now. So no, that's not true at all. 2. Unless you use an rsl, then you'll have to take the lines off the risers and do it all over again.....the right way. "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  3. Damn I can relate to that! Talk about an identical story. He's still pissed about the money I spend on it. My mom is now pretty educated about it now since I ramble on about stuff alot, but occasionally she'll still drop the "what happens if plan B fails, no plan C?" "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  4. Nevermind, apparently I was assigned a number but never got the email! HF# 828 checking in and fucking up "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  5. Bump... So I was officially dubbed a Hellfish about 5 months ago but I'm STILL waiting to hear back what my number is. Anyone know what happened to the Supreme Commander?? "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  6. If you stick around, slowly educate her about it. My girlfriend thought it was cool right off the bat, and is doing a tandem next month. Of course she is going to worry some, that human nature. But she trusts me and knows that I am aware of the risks. "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  7. It's not a theory, I'm 99% sure. And when linebckr83 is 99% sure, its the truth. How old are these kids again? I'd guess they have no clue what he does. Either that or they don't care. If I grew up learning to bend people over to get rich, it wouldn't bother me either. But I was raised with morals, something you seem to lack. That and an education obviously. For sake of the thread/not getting sniped in a parking lot, can somebody post an update on SR/ASC stuff? "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" 8. Yeah you said that already. "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  9. Definitely young yes. Now naive, that depends on the person judging it. You may think so but from what I read you have a pretty skewed opinion on life in general, so it doesn't make much difference
  10. Cary's wealth? You do realize that will be soon coming to an end right? The only thing I know about him (besides that he's worthless) is that his sister is awesome in the sack "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  11. The best thing to come to your mind is a sentence structure comment? I'm an engineering major not English, but I appreciate the lesson. After all, I hate sounding like a ruhtard By the way you completely disregard what I said, does that mean you agree or disagree? You're always avoiding the topic at hand. 12. Do none of you think before you do things? Fuck, I'm 21 years old. I do drunk stuff every weekend. But I've got a little bit of common sense, and it only takes a little to realize the difference between a prank and fucking with people's expensive shit. Some people just amaze me. Like at couch freaks this year, I like being an idiot when i drink sure, that's part of being my age, but I'd realize that climbing on airplanes in the middle of the night is a dumb idea BEFORE I did it. Some people just can't think logically anymore. Show some respect to people around you "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  13. I'd venture to guess they measured where your toggles from the old line set were at, then made the loop in the same place. "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  14. Does flat orientation essentially mean belly to earth? If so, FF-7 sounds like a side body with one person backflying, and FF-9 sounds identical to a Cat grip in RW. Just curious. "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  15. For someone who tries to act all big and tough all the time, you sure do bitch and whine alot IMO it's a bitch move to send out private messages but not allow incoming ones. That makes for a really difficult debate, which I get the feeling you want. Maybe if you allowed the topic to stay in PM's then this wouldn't have happened. I seriously doubt jumpdude is going to show up at your house and steal/kill/molest your hawks so I wouldn't worry about that. "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  16. I had the same toggle fire 2 jumps in a row at couch freaks this year. I have a natural tendency to grab my risers during deployment to stop a spin if one half of the canopy inflates before the other, so once the spin from the brake fire starts I use the opposite rear riser. Once you're flying relatively straight, the set toggle usually releases pretty easily. "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  17. I had a 190 main and 200 reserve, bigger than both of those, and I wasn't close to 35/38 lbs of gear. More like 25. With my 170 and same reserve, im 204 on the ground and 227 geared up completely. "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  18. And i've seen tandems reschedule because they wanted the full altitude with the money they were spending. It goes both ways. I never claimed the student did or didn't want to go to 7k, just that there are other options. And I disagreed with your whine about somebody's comment being political. If a dz has bullshit charges like for weather, "extra altitude", etc etc, it's not unreasonable to assume they just didn't tell the student they only went to 7k. I'm not claiming it happened because I wasn't there, but I see where those who assume this are coming from. "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  19. So you ride the plane back down and wait for it to clear. Or reschedule. Nothing political about that. "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  20. This number went downhill REAL fast! 37683 + 421 = 38104 57 + 0 = 57 38104 / 57 = 668.5 "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  21. The time it takes for the planet to make one complete revolution is not 24 hours. It is actually 23 hrs, 56 min, 4.0905 seconds. This is called a sideral day. However, the definition of a "day" is the amount of time it takes for the sun to appear in the same place again in the sky. In the 23hrs, 56min, 4.0905 seconds it took the planet it rotate, it revolved around the sun 360/365 (or .9863) degrees. Therefore it takes a little more rotation for the sun to appear at that same point. this take a little less than 4 mins, making the day 24 hours. This is called a mean solar day. 22. True dat. If you don't trust someone enough to not have to look through their phone for "evidence", then there's major problems in that relationship that need dealing with anyway. "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  23. I've done it before, in my extremely jealous youth days.... so like 3 years ago Both times I did it, I found something I didn't like. From then on I decided I never would. That was a good idea for a year with the new girlfriend until she cheated on me 4 times a couple months ago Luckily, the girl I'm talking to now seems very trustworthy so for now I haven't had any reason to not believe what she says. "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  24. Well I was being an idiot and misinterpreted what everyone was saying about fingertrapping and bar tacking. I assumed the idea was to pass the line thru the toggle grommet, around the side of the toggle then fingertrap/bartack it. Instead, I think the idea is fingertrap the line to create a loop where the knot originally was, bartack it, THEN pass the loop thru the toggle grommet and the toggle thru the loop. Basically the same as most layouts except stitching is used instead of a knot. My bad, thanks for helping me realize it. I fingertrapped it already and will have it bar tacked later this week. On a positive note, I now have 12 unused yards of vectran to go build something with "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  25. I have seen some student rigs with the white tabs actually colored by hand to help students out. My Pilot's colored packing tabs made it easier for me at the start. It was also helpful using to teach others how to flake. To the OP, it was confusing to all of us at the start, keep practicing with someone assisting you when need be, and you'll get it in no time.
