Yep, I hate winter. I just spent 24 hrs. with no power. My house was so cold (51 degrees when I went to bed). After the snow stopped we had an ice rain that put 1/2" of ice on everything. Yeah, yesterday sucked. Of course the whole area virtually shuts down because no one should be out driving on these hills covered with a layer of ice! As a Mother, I just cannot imagine this behavior. Your children should be loved no matter who they are or what they have done. I am realistic and I know this doesn't always happen, that is what is so sad. She may not ever realize and she may not ever regret her actions. Chute, hugs to you for being her friend. My advice........you fell in love with the moment. I say take it slow, get to know this girl again. You said it's been a while since you've seen her. You are young, don't rush into anything and think real hard about the responsibilities a child will hold for you. No, he isn't a 'hottie', but he can sing!!! He has a great voice. It was clear from the start, that he was going to be the winner. All of the top three winners were very good. The third place winner, Peter Everard from Belgium, took a lot of "flack" from some of the judges, I think because he was labeled as a "rocker". He did a very good rendition of a Nirvana song. We decided just to go out and have dinner, then come home. The service was so bad, the manager bought our dinner!!! Seems one of the chefs/cook was sitting behind us and must have overheard some of our remarks (we weren't aware of this at all). She is the one that finally got up, got the manager who came over to us and said they were 'comping' our whole dinner, drinks and all!!!!! Kind of a good start to the New Year. You are right, but both my son and husband have had blood clots in their legs. Both had to be treated by IV in the hospital or by self injecting the same medication at home for a period of time. After that treatment (and I believe it is heparin) you are put on Coumadin. It must be monitored monthly because your diet can interfere. I wouldn't imagine she'll be flying if it is a blood clot. I can't answer all the questions, but a blood clot can be treated with blood thinners. Sometimes requiring a stay in the hospital for treatment, sometimes self-injecting yourself at home with the same medications. If a clot is suspected an ultrasound or further testing should be done. Actually, the first line read--"Suddenly eating a hamburger seems almost as reckless as skydiving with a garage sale parachute".
