re-registering as a dem to vote for hillary
PLFXpert replied to TrophyHusband's topic in Speakers Corner
If they want to, sure. Sure there is. Are you honest? That's a good reason. I'm guessing those Republicans who do re-register Dem are doing so on the assumption McCain will have a better chance at winning the November election against Hillary than Barack. Whether the GOP likes him or not, McCain is their best chance at keeping the office. Very simply it seems swing voters (Independents, left-leaning righties, right-leaning lefties) are more like to vote for McCain vs. Clinton than McCain vs. Obama. McCain obviously needs the swingers to win in November. There is a lot of "history in the making" in this election. It doesn't seem so far-fetched for a Republican to win in November. I hope one does. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. -

Wendy, when I was reading my old posts the other day I saw this same quote from you before. And it stuck out to me.

It's valley speak. I'm guilty. When I was training for my first job out of college, our "trainer" came in and said something--can't remember what and by this time we were all friends--and I replied "Shut up!" One girl in our "class" had this ghastly look on her face--I noticed it right away--and when I looked at her she just said, "Carrie!?" I instantly knew why. Obviously she was from somewhere in the hills. But, I immediately felt silly thinking perhaps the "trainer" (who was also not from my area) didn't know what I meant, either. Most everyone was laughing, but I smiled and looked at our "trainer" and said, "Um. You get what I meant, right?" And she did. It's funnier if you were there. And I was totally singing that Missy Elliot song in "class" that day "Izz yur tricky wicky sang yaht. Izz yur tricky wicky sang yaht." Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

You're a skydiver.

Yes! Warm, fresh bagel. I will not have them any other way. It sucks on Christmas when I have to eat a day-old bagel. I never forget to buy an extra one the day before. When we travel, I google and mapquest the nearest bagel shop & Starbucks (who, by the way, has nasty, unfresh bagels ). I'm very serious about breakfast. Very serious. Even my parents who moved out to the sticks are worried I will not visit because there is no bagel shop. But, there is a grocery-store bakery twenty minutes away. I checked. They make bagels. When I was little I'd ride my bicycle to the bagel shop before school. Now I drive my Sequoia to the bagel shop before work. Actually Billy drives it, and Cruz comes too. They have Cruzer's picture on the wall. He gets biscuits every morning. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

And just because I love arguing semantics and someone else already used a pilot example, you're not a "pilot" if you're still a student; you're learning to become one. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

That means only like two people in the world would truly be a skydiver. Whoa. Profound. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Usually it's what goes on the bagel that makes it unhealthy. That and the enormous size of some. I've eaten a freshly-baked bagel for breakfast nearly every morning my entire life. I realize that might sound fantastically boring, but it's how I roll. It started with a blueberry bagel until later when I switched to whole grain. This morning I had a multi-grain with all-natural peanut butter & honey. If you're still reading this, you're not as exciting as you think you are, and I'll thank you for not making fun of my love for bagels. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

A "skydiver" by most dictionary definitions requires a jump in which that person him or herself falls "freely from an airplane, performing various maneuvers before pulling the ripcord of a parachute." To me, this means a tandem passenger is not a "skydiver" by definition. My definition is an "A" license or equivalent. I think this marks the transition from "student" by definition to "skydiver". Not even a little bit. Awful! Seriously. I gave it two stars instead of one on Netflix because I did actually finish it--which is the most I can say about it. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

When it comes to games I excel at numbers and strategy vs. letters & jumbles. You'd think as much as I write and love words, I'd be halfway decent at Scrabble. Alas, I am not. I don't completely suck, but it's definitely not "my game". I'm getting better, I think. Unless, Billy is getting worse. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Except some people aren't as clever as they think they are. You like don't even have to be that observant to figure out what they're trying to hide. I believe in such things as intuition & perception. We do often perceive as we want to, and it often does "take one to know one" or sometimes it just takes knowledge of "one" to know another.
