After numerous research over the past couple years, companies are now seeing that women in their 30s, 40s and 50s are actually spending a lot more money on makeup, lingerie and clothes than their 20-something counter-parts. Hence, why we're now seeing a lot older women in ads, which I particularly love, even though I'm 25 Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I did data entry in college for about a year---It was SO easy and yet still paid $12/hr I could talk to Skymama on instant messenger the whole time, and click in and out of my browser to always check the latest responses on DZ.com. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I saw that on The Today Show! That was fabulous! Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

In part, I agree. But, I also can see how they can play an integral part in a variety of toys a child has to play with daily. What bothers me, is they're taking Art & Music classes out of schools (their reasoning is budget issues) and the new toys are all interactive, new-technology brain teasers. I was involved in all the music/art I could possibly sign up for in school (when I was little). I'm biased, but SO against the focus being taken away from, what I believe, are such important avenues for a child to learn in and aid in their learning process. I love you guys---I'm finding so much comfort in these responses. We may be the last imaginative generation Or not. I'm so on the fence about all these new toys. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Warning: Thread hijack Speaking of which, I just got my FOURTH call this month for the "office donation" for so-and-so's Christmas gift. I'm not an uncaring person--just SO against this type of thing. I believe I posted about it numerous times. It will always drive me insane. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. -
Haven't done this one in awhile - what you listening to?

I used to love Rage. My life's a lot more tranquil, thank goodness, these days. I still appreciate the hell out of their music, though In my CD right now is Credence Clearwater Revival. I love all music, but lately, loving the old rock. I'm SO STOKED to have tickets to see Aerosmith Jan. 7th (with Lenny Kravitz). I've never seen them--fabulous seats by luck They sold out in 20 minutes. I'm absoultely flippin excited! I can FINALLY get my T-shirt---have looked for years for a grey T with just the logo/wings on the front unsucessfully. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. -
Just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts on all these new interactive toys. My mom said my favorite toys when I was little were empty butter tubs and shampoo bottles. I'm frigtened, and I'm not sure if in a good or bad way, of this new generation. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

You could almost pick up an American History book and read the chapter titles. It's littered with examples Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I'm not the only one, Yey! Hence my sig line. My specific Communications track was magazine journalism--I had AP style coming out of my ears. I can't hardly read anything w/out editing it But, I've definitely relapsed over the years. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. -
I meant for the "who cares" to mean more indifferent to her, but good point I was just curious about the new Jessica Simpson phenom. I thought about polling Paris Hilton, but at least Jessica has DONE something Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

No wonder you're having trouble--all of our responses are different. I would interpret that as seeing a friend. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Been with my hunny for 5 1/2 years. When that song came out (around this time last year) we were having an "issue". That song had me not just teared up, but balling all the time. THEY PLAYED IT ALL THE TIME. And, I couldn't change the station. THANK GOODNESS everything worked out really, really well. But, when I hear that song now, I'm reminded of that. I pay for groceries/weekly expenses, he pays for weekend dinners/expenses. I've done the math a few times and it's usually pretty even. We eat a lot of fresh veggies, fruits, etc. so the grocery bill is never cheap The rest of the bills split down the middle. We make mutual decisions on savings, purchases, etc. But mostly, I'm the financial planner/advisor and he just says "OK, babe" Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Why do all men have such distaste for Keanu? The moment I saw the thread header, I knew Keanu would be an option b/c every man I've ever know can't stand the guy. Hmmmmmm I loved him in The Replacements I'm I'm nuts about Kevin Costner in Tin Cup Clooney's flicks have done nothing for me---but he acted well on ER

Does anyone here actually give anything at Xmas outside of gifts?

I've never volunteered on a holiday. But, I always donate extra to my charities. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. -
I was helping carry my hunny's grandma in her wheelchair down some stairs (like 4 stairs, not a flight), somehow tripped and bruised (possibly fractured) a rib. I had just switched companies and being 24 years old, elected against the terribly expensive Cobra and decided to risk the 90 days before my new health ins. would kick in. So, naturally, I didn't go to the doctor---only b/c there's nothing they can do for that type of injury but X-ray you (and charge you for that) and tell you, "Yup, it's fractured", then wrap you in an ACE bandage and tell you to take it easy and keep it on for a couple months (and of course, charge your for that and for follow-ups). So, I just took it upon myself to wrap an ACE bandage around my ribs everyday for two months--it stopped hurting (and stopped poking out if I tried to sit up from lying flat on my back) after about 9 weeks. A year later when I had my annual physical (earlier this year) I had them X-ray it just to make sure everything looked like it was in its proper place. It was. Yey! Yes, I saw the reunion special. Oh my gosh. This was my least favorite season, though. I missed a couple episodes, etc. I really felt bad for Rachel the entire time. I just didn't see why she was so picked on. And I felt like--how dare they tell her she was not in the war. The girl was in Iraq for a year. I would flip my shit I'm excited for the new Key West cast b/c they were filming during the hurricane. It will be interesting to see. I just really enjoy watching how different people relate to one another under all these circumstances. It stems from double majoring in Communications & Sociology with a Psycology minor. I'm fascinated by those things. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
