I'm not a fan of the after-AI songs they have to sing either. But greekone---Taylor no talent? You're . And McPhee's talent's all ass OK, she's beautiful and really does have *potential*. I think I'm the only one who hears how off pitch and awful she sounds on any high run. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Go Tayla (yes, I meant to spell it that way. That's how Simon always says it) I would totally sport a "Soul Power" T-shirt if I had one My review: McPhee--I like her first song better this time than the first time she sang it. Her ego is soaring through the roof though and I find that annoying. But her daddy is SO cute Her second song "Over the Rainbow" *yawn* was also much better than the first time she utterly oversang it. Her third song royally sucked, pardon my french (and I can't BELIEVE none of the judges mentioned how off key/pitch she was) Taylor's first song was fabulous, second song fabulous, third song FAB-U-LOUS! Neither of the contestants' last songs were well-written/orchestrated but Taylor REALLY made the most of his. Soul Power, bayba Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Most people never end up doing what they originally planned/thought. So I'm curious, if you could sum up in a paragraph or two. Me? From the time I was born I wanted to be a veterinarian. Skip to college when I placed into the top math and english courses and yet barely placed into basic chemistry I fell in love with writing and with my previous experience in the fashion industry, dove into a magazine journalism major. Cut to having to write a TON While I still loved fashion and loved doing reviews, I found myself incredibly more interested in researching and writing about womens' issues & childrens' issues. Cut to graduating and having already met the love of my life not wanting to move to NY or really anywhere other than where he was (he had a business here). My best friend had graduated a year early cum laude (I know. It was insane trying to keep up with her) and had a great job in the mortgage industry doing very well, she yanked my foot through the door. Cut to me being incredibly stressed all the time and finally researching enough to find an industry (my current sales position) that allowed me to maintain the income w/out as much of the stress and more flexibility. I LOVE what I do now. But it's SOOOOOOO different that where I thought I'd be. Now your turn Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I haven't yet read it, as that's not my typical genre of literature, but I think I actually WILL read her book. I really like the idea behind it and I was surprisingly impressed with her interview on Ellen (I LOVE Ellen) and also her interview in Vanity Fair.

Me, too. I LOOOOOOOVE scuba. I am not advanced certified yet (though I've been fortunate to do some dives on that level b/c I said "Puuuullllllleeeeeease") and I really want to be. My hunny is not yet certified at all so when he goes through his basic open-water course, I plan to get my advanced. Love it! Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

That is all---I can't think about hurricane season, except to be prepared. The boards (I REALLY want Winguard, damn it!), the damage, the Starbucks being closed But, I will say we had a BLAST during Frances--Tropical Storm level winds devasted many trees, but not a lot of property where I live---we were on the beach playing in the foam, trying to stand up straight and riding the neighborhood kids' skateboards down the street with a big sheet between us What else do you do w/out power? That's terrible! You must fix that. To quote Terri Hatcher, "Stop eating the burnt toast!"

Again, agreed. Where we DISAGREE is swimming *always* being a recreation. Furthermore, I am not a parent, true. I can't possibly ever grasp how truly difficult (and of course rewarding) that is. But I AM a child of a parent (actually several if you want to get into the steps, the halves and the I can't-keep-track-anymores). That counts for more than you give credit for, books or no books. And for the record, I never said (nor have I) I have written an article on swimming. I am only exhaustingly continueing this played out conversation b/c I like ya, I don't think less of you for not knowing how to swim (and I ADORED my Oma who couldn't either) and frankly I care enough that I do not want you to think I do. But, I can only take this so much. I'm truly done here. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

When refutes are irrational I tend to get frustrated. I am a communicator. I never lost a debate on the debate team (even when I didn't believe in the side I was assigned). When someone I value is irrational in their response and I want them to understand (and also know my opinion comes from a very good place) I pull my hair out And Lisamarie I have ALSO taught adults to swim and would be more than happy if you ever were interested

Well, currently there IS no law that says not teaching your child to swim is neglect. In that respect you are correct. I'm sure lawrocket might know of MANY suits, however, that have been won against parents for turning their backs for two seconds and a child falling into the water and drowning. I'm NOT saying I agree with those suits being won--just that it happens. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
