As the study released this past week shows, Atheists and Agnostics are on average kinder people than religious ones. https://www.google.co.za/search?q=atheists+kinder+than+religious&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a

I think you'd find that's mostly 'us' screaming and hollering about the idea that we are all supposed to want what you want. And 'our' children are also supposed to be taught what you believe as fact. The issue isn't about what you believe, it's about exposing the nature of the people that generally follow what you believe. Keep religion out of politics and keep it between a parent and their children. If that were what happens, hardly any of us would even care. The problem is that somehow, in some lack of brain activity. People seem to think that promoting science in school is in fact atheists spreading atheism in schools. Which is not the case. And as any quick search on any news site can tell you - many Christians have been very vocal in their attempts to ban the teaching of evolution from schools. Because while completely supported by science (the subject that is being taught) they feel it's somehow now an atheist class. If you want to teach your religion, hold a non-compulsary bible study class in schools. Don't hijack the subject of science with unsupported, unscientific claims just because it doesn't support your view. It's like having an atheist go into a church bible study group and then complain that they're talking about nonsense that isn't supported by science. Never seen that in any headlines. Closest I've seen is people wanting to keep their children out of a religious class, and what do you know, we're back to the fact that science isn't a religious class, it's science.

Well I do wage a long standing war on the wearing of clothes... But I'm not sure if I could do the standing on a rock part at the same time, last time I got naked in front of a girl I just met I ended up tripping over a blanket and falling crotch first into her face. Rocks may be dangerous :p

Hahahaha. It hasn't. What would give you the idea that evolution has stopped, in terms of humans or animals? While the continued evolution of humans may not have a vast physical difference at face value, there are going to be changes that will take place as needed. Remember that evolution is natures way of adapting to a certain environment, as humans we have reached a point where we no longer really adapt to our environment as much with our bodies as we do by adjusting the environment to suit us. And as for other animals, there are numerous species which one can visibly see it making a transition in it's evolution. The Cape Grass lizard for example is a clear example of an 'in process' evolutionary creature. It's a species that has started to grow legs but that aren't being properly used yet and still relying on it's original source of mobility (tail) to get around. Think half snake and half lizard. The idea that evolution has stopped isn't supported in any way, firstly evolution is not something that happened in a short period with people saying "hey my grandfather looked totally different". And the only reason creatures evolve is to survive in a habitat or conditions that they couldn't before. The development of things like fire-arms, heating, airplanes. Those are all signs of evolution of sorts. We use our innovation to overcome the hurdles that evolution usually does with millions of years.

Well if someone with that e-mail address contacted you, it is a scammer. They will likely send you a fraudulent cheque, though they have been known to deal with paypal too. Cut all contact with the so-called buyer and don't try to cash their fraudulent cheque and don't give them your paypal details. If it was too late for the latter, contact paypal and explain the situation. -

The following scam has been reported: Click here to read more about these kind of scams. Remember: DO NOT do business with anyone who offers to send you payment for a higher amount than your selling price with the understanding that you'll send back the balance. Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be acting on behalf of a "client" or another "customer". Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be from Nigeria or West Africa If you agree to accept a check payment, then do not send anything, gear or "change" before the check cleared. And be careful, if you manage to clear a fraudulent check then you may be liable for the damages if the bank finds out later. Make sure your bank authenticates the check. We want to keep the forum categories to a minimum actually, despite the fact that it may get more hits, we want the forum to remain as easy to navigate as possible and would require input some a lot of people to result in the addition of a new forum category. There are probably around 10 people who have asked for a pilots forum, but it's just not enough to warrant creating one. 10 years ago such a function may well have held merit on the site, but now it would just end up competing with social networks like facebook, where most people already have connections and conversations with their old jumping partners from dropzone X or Y. -

It's also on Android, one can play between operating systems. I used to play it a lot a few months ago, but it can't keep one hooked as much as games like Words with Friends and Scramble :p

I'm sorry, I must be totally confused and incorrect in assuming conservative Republicans generally cry out for small government that doesn't interfere with others lives. I must have been even more confused to assume the majority of such people oppose gay marriage and that a popular reasoning. The funniest part is that you called me a left winger, you best not tell the rest of the left wingers that, they definitely will want to tar and feather me for some of my thoughts then. One can also logically assume that my statement was for a majority, not every single person. So to make my statement 'correct' all I would need is a poll of conservatives who support the banning of gay marriage and a poll of conservatives who believe in 'small government' that does not infringe on personal activities. And if the percentages overlapped, that would be that. I'm fairly certain such a poll would not be difficult to find either. But I don't think I even need to waste time finding them. I'm sure you know the general answer already.
-
Unless of course it's the regulation of homosexual marriage, you know... To save all those poor kids from having two fathers or two mothers. Got to love the conservatives solely for entertainment value. KEEP GOVERNMENT OUT OF OUR LIVES! (Unless of course your life contradicts our personal values).
-
Because unfortunately sticking it to the man and showing the world one can do as their please and that they're no ones bitch, takes priority over common sense. Seriously, it's 2 fucking seconds of reaching over and pulling something.
-
Ask the republicans, it's been one of their primary debate points for ages. Considering there are loads of laws currently set up to protect them, are you suggesting all those laws don't have merit and should be done away with, or are you just suggesting that for some reason this is different, in which case I'd like to hear why you think it is.
-
Totally think that it's okay to enforce the use, for a few simple reasons. 1. Someone else is going to have to scrape your brains and dismembered body parts from off the street. A job I'm sure most do not enjoy. Any way to reduce this number makes sense. 2. Children. What about children in this question. When you say that one should choose whether or not to wear one, does this include children in the car? Because as with age of consent laws, the government feels they need to protect children from being put in harms way by bad parenting and to form a safety net for them. So while a parent may say it's fine for their kids not to wear them, would it be okay to let that parenting fly. Kids pretty much need to be forced and yelled at in most situations to wear an 'irritating' seat belt. I am usually on the side of letting people do what they want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. But in a car accident, I think the sacrifice of comfort by putting the seat belt on may in many cases be the difference between a child seeing daddy with a broken nose and mommy with a sore head and seeing both their parents decapitated by their heads going through the windshield.

You appear to be missing some vital data in your equation. Said mail order bride has most likely chosen such a life because they want an easy life, where they are handed a house, food, transport etc. As opposed to a woman one is most likely to date, who is likely to have more ambition and want to work, and know that she isn't just sucking on the man's metaphorical nipple. While granted there are more than enough woman in general life in the west that are also wanting everything handed to them, I think that the odds are strongly biased that it would be more prevalent in the former. I can assure you it's certainly not normal for a guy to assume majority or even partial payments for the girlfriend within the first year of dating. So let's say, like a normal healthy relationship, there is a minimum of 2 years of dating before moving in together and sharing of financials. Something there won't be with the mail order bride. I must quickly interject here as it's vital to the mathematics, that any woman who doesn't want to at least pay for herself in some areas or offer to pay for certain dates clearly has issues already. Nothing wrong with the guy paying for the first few months of dating, but if you're with a girl who wants you to be paying for every date in the relationship, you're already off to a bad start character-wise, unless of course you're looking for someone who just wants a guy to do everything for her and lacks any motivation or pride. So I will base this equation on the assumption that the woman at least has some pride and is willing to show that she doesn't need someone to pay for her everything to survive. Let's say $250 a month on dating this 'normal' girl. Where as said mail order pride will probably be setting you back about that much just on food alone. Then of course good luck with the extra odd $200 for clothes, $50 for gas, another $300 pm if she wants her own transport. You're going to need to get really lucky to find yourself a mail order bride who doesn't want her 'get everything for free' dream, or who has the desire to work and pay for her half.

For a little bit of perspective, there was a documentary about a woman who was still breast feeding her children at I think it was around age 7 or older. I think it's actually on youtube too, but completely dwarfs the Times cover in it's 'weirdness'.

I saw the movie only having seen Thor prior to it, but even without watching the other movies prior I really enjoyed it. Since then I have watched the other movies though which helped fill in more of a background. Definitely one of the better movies I've seen recently.

It's the reason why Christians get so stressed out when others express the facts behind their lack of belief. If they see these facts they may have to think about them, and that may totally break their insecure faith and turn them to the 'dark side'. There is a very blatant long standing idea by Christians that it is their faith and they should be free to speak about it how they will, billboards etc. Yet these are the same people who have again and again been outraged by any atheist making use of the same means of communication. The Christians like to go on about how the non-believers want to take away their rights to express their religion, which is simply ignorant. Atheists long stood by while Christians used the means of billboards and public advertising, but now that the non-believers have seen that religion has become more of a marketing strategy than an honest belief system, they have decided to do the same thing the Christians have been doing for decades. Yet the Christians are the ones having the huge uproars over the evil non-believers trying to spread their vile lies! I assure you vast majority of atheists don't care if you tell their child the story of the bible, they know that they can easily correct what may have been implanted in the kids ear with the idea of them burning in hell for eternity by telling them it's a book to make them scared. Yet on the other hand, Christians in general seem far more likely to want to keep their children away from facts of science, evolution etc. Because they know that they can only back up their religion against that by telling their child they have to have faith. As mentioned above, there are very few atheists that want to turn all Christians into atheists. There is however a large amount that would like to have OTHERS religious views not effecting them and their lives. Which unfortunately is still a long way off, and many Christians fail to see their own hypocrisy. Claiming that their religion is a personal thing and that they are being persecuted by non-believers, when these same people completely support persecuting others who don't live by their religious ideals, by wanting laws made up from Christian based ideals. Somewhere, in many Christians typically strange, strange minds - They think that allowing others to live lives their religion disagrees with, is completely justified and fail to see the complete irony in the fact that as a controlling religion is forcing others to live as though they feel they have the right to dictate. With the Christians reactions to non-believers expressing their ideas and beliefs (or lack thereof) in the same sorts of ways they do. I can only conclude that those same ones are so insecure about their faith that they feel the need to make sure that it goes unopposed and that if Christianity had to revert back to really just being a personal decision that is made when both sides are examined, that the religion would not last much longer. I think both science and the bible should be taught to children. But the both taught in a factual sense and not with the manipulative tactics usually employed when teaching the bible to kids.
