  1. Thanks, we'll take a look at this.
  2. The following scam has been reported: Click here to read more about these kind of scams. Remember: DO NOT do business with anyone who offers to send you payment for a higher amount than your selling price with the understanding that you'll send back the balance. Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be acting on behalf of a "client" or another "customer". Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be from Nigeria or West Africa If you agree to accept a check payment, then do not send anything, gear or "change" before the check cleared. And be careful, if you manage to clear a fraudulent check then you may be liable for the damages if the bank finds out later. Make sure your bank authenticates the check. If it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is.This username has been disabled.
  3. I've been trying hard to replicate this error but can't seem to do so, even when using proxies. I see that the OP is having problems with internet explorer. Is this error occurring on other browsers too? If anyone with some tech know-how experiences it, if they can please check the ad code that is being generated for the spaces that aren't showing and then PM it to me, this will help in solving it quicker. I will continue to try and see what's causing it, but it's tough without being able to replicate it.
  4. Thanks for the heads up. I will keep an eye on this. It's more than likely related to an ad. The only difficult part is finding out which one. I will try and see if I can get the error to occur and then dig in the code a bit to find which ad caused it, then get it removed.
  5. As has been commented, the flags show the country you have listed in your profile. If you don't want it to display the USA, then change the country in your profile. And with regards to the last post, above this. We do currently have an alt tag which grabs the country name to display on hover, it may be browser dependant, but on Firefox I see a text 'pop up' of the country name when hovering.
  6. The following user has been reported as a scammer. The user has been linked to other usernames which were also advertising scam ads on dropzone.com. PLEASE NOTE: The ads are often generic and copied and pasted from other legitimate ads. Be careful as these sellers are sometimes able to provide extra images for the items they're 'selling' and appear legitimate. Again be suspicious of broken English, especially when the seller claims to be from a native English speaking country. Do not do business with the following username: Username: SkyQueen123 Below is an example of a scam ad submitted by this user prior to removal. Keep a look out for similar formatted ads from other users too. [inline scam-classified-ad.jpg]

  9. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We're always interested in hearing ideas, and while we probably won't be working on this immediately, it will be taken down and added to our compilation of ideas that we can then look at in more detail and consider whether it will ultimately be useful or not.
  10. This is due to a change we made for security reasons, let me see if I can speak to the developer and see if it's something we can get resolved. Will keep in touch here with any progress...

  13. I know it is a PISA product, but the PISA website has no information on it that I can find, which is less than ideal when trying to add it to the database. I guess we could add it as an empty shell of an addition with just the name present, but just wanted to see if there was perhaps something I may be missing online where it was listed properly ;)

  15. I will get to adding it to the list, that information gets pulled through from our gear page, meaning we don't have the canopy listed there yet. Do you perhaps have a resource for information on the canopy? We need some basic information when we list the canopy in the database, but I'm struggling to find an online resource which lists information about the canopy.
  16. Yup, we've opened it up again for now. It's worth noting though, that all the content in that forum is also on the forums at basejumper.com - as it was moved over during the original establishment of basejumper.
  17. I have made it bold now, so it's hard to not catch a glimpse of it when you have a message alert (It's the only red on that side of the screen). Hopefully it suffices for now.
  18. We've sorted out the issue that was causing this... I'll send you a PM now lawrocket, as how to resolve it. Apologies for the problems you guys are experiencing.
  19. Hey, We appreciate you sharing your concerns and feelings regarding the new template, and I'll try and address some of the issues you've raised. The old template didn't scale to screen size properly, yes it may have been a 100% width, meaning larger monitors would see 'more forum', but when it came to smaller devices, it was worse - and even at 1024 pixels, there were problems. The new template is better on devices like tablets and mobile phones, though still not ideal, and we'll be working on that in future. The width of the screen is one that fits the rest of the site. We've been using a centered 'fixed width' layout now on the other areas of the site for about a year. Because we realized that the forum is a place you would want a bit wider, we did so and moved it up about 20% from the other areas of the site. And while there is the chance that we could increase it in future by another 10-15%, we're unlikely to go to a full width screen. With regards to window resizing, the old template was the same. While the old template had a 100% width, it still also had a minimum width of around 1000px, pretty similar to what we have at the moment. None of the designs have been responsive in that manner, or completely liquid. Though that is something that will happen in the future - a proper responsive design. Don't think that the blank spaces aren't something we considered and looked at, because we spent some time discussing them, and the width of the site. We also went and explored what the latest trends are and what users are getting used to on other sites, and fact of the matter is that fixed width, centered and rather narrow - is what is done at the moment. The full width forums were very 90s, something like PHPBB which filled up the entire screen. That's just not used any more. Sony actually use very similar widths and layouts as we do, on their site. The point I'm trying to make is that forums with the current width we have, is where things are right now. And it may take some getting used to by those who are used to full width forums (I am one of those people). We're constantly working to ensure that the experience on dropzone.com is the best it can be, and as such we're constantly working at making things better. And I can definitely say, that the current forums are a huge step up from the previous ones. But I can assure you that in the future a full responsive design will come, which should relieve some of the issues you've brought up.
  20. The reason it may seem harder to notice now is because of the positioning. Human eyes automatically track to the top left of the page, where we used to have it - so it does require you to actually look if you do have now (don't strain yourself when moving your eyes those 2mm) ;) Nah, but if it will help - I can bold the current alerts to bring it out a bit more? I'll implement that so long and see if it helps. I'll be honest in that I too occasionally skim over and don't see the alert.
  21. I think I know what this issue is, but we may only be able to begin working on it in a few hours. I'll keep you posted with the progress.
  22. Thanks for the screenshot. We're currently experiencing some problems with this regard, and it affects a few areas of the site, but we're working at getting it resolved ASAP.
  23. I'll take a look into this and let you know what's up.
  24. Welcome, You're in good company. This site is owned by and run by South Africans, and just 40km outside of Cape Town too.
