Here we only got the cold and wind from you storm. If I can't go and jump, it could at least snow. I love to watch it snowing. II've decided now that I prefer that it snows after I get to work and melts off the road before I have to drive home. I used to want it to snow on the weekends when I didn't have to go anywhere. But, now that I got bit by the skydiving monster, I want good weather on the weekends! "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

No sh*t. Especially if you have to drive in it or shovel it. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

Great pictures. I can't decide whether I like the clouds in Lisbon or the California picture more.

Here's a few of my favorites. Someday, I'd like to take some from the air. (sigh) "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

I'm not quite that curious, but it is most of the reason why I'm taking physics this quarter. That's given me a lot of understanding, but better yet, it's what got me started skydiving! "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

That's about the time I was using Prodigy with Geoworks. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490 -
WAC teams like Hawaii and BSU are getting some respect for a reason. The Fiesta Bowl is a great example of why. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

Not generally. The request usually comes from students who haven't bothered to come to class regularly or complete their homework. (Pet peeves #2 and #3) If most of the class had a problem however, I will often take a day and review the material and then retest on the most troublesome areas. My first tandem jump was earlier that day on the same plane. It was a very sobering moment, but I did distinguish between using the plane to jump from and using it as transportation. I'm pretty leery of small planes and mountains after living in Idaho for some time and would have to think twice or more before doing that. I'm a math teacher and I'm always looking for where things I teach are applied. Thanks, Pat "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

Your work is great. I hadn't thought of doing them in the given form, but the work and answers match mine. Just curious, where is the problem from? Pat "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

You've got .125 + (-257.50) = -257.375 if you just convert to standard decimal notation. A scientific or graphing calculator would let you just add the numbers in scientific notation form without the conversions. Pat "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

Do you want an answer or how to do it? Pat "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

Well, I've got the soft cushy parts.

How does skydiving affect your lifestyle?

Ahh, so much to look forward to -
Of course.

Yeah, stiff was not good. I have been practicing making the mental and physical connection between feet hitting the ground and bending at the knees to help absorb the impact. I'm also concentrating on keeping my arms in and down. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

Yep, the picture is from the tandem. Rick, the other teacher I'm training with, and I plan on taking our cameras (expensive hobby #1) next time and trying to get some good pictures from the ground. Pat "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

I've come to the conclusion that I'll be really happy to do PLF's consistently and deliberately before I try to even think about standing up a landing. We (students) get to land in a gopher subdivision that is probably going to mean it will have to be a really soft landing before I can avoid their front doors. Besides, I figure I'm gonna be jumping long enough that I'll eventually get the stand up thing down and I really don't want to miss a lot of time recovering from something broken! Put in a good word with the weather gods so we can jump Sunday!
