  1. As a joke, I'll generally laugh, but, although it's been a while, I have seen that kind of behavior in person. That's what gets me riled. And, there are some, mostly in northern Idaho, that still act that way, unfortunately. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  2. Sorry you guys are having such chilly weather. I've got that cold stuff every day \right now. It was only in the mid-20's on the ground the other day when I jumped. I'm not about to wait until spring, but damned, 20 degrees is COLD "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  3. Glad to hear you're on you way to getting healed. Pat "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  4. Be sure and let us know what hapens. The only celebrity type I have met was Jake Plummer. He was a really nice guy. We ran in to him at a bowling alley in Boise and he took time to just chat with my grandson. Oh, one ohter one----Marilyn Chambers from Behind the Green Door fame. Whe looked so sweet in person that you would never guess what she did for a living. This kind of attitude really pisses me off. I'm usually pretty easy going, but there are things that will get me riled. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  5. Hmmm...If it came with a hockey player, I might not mind being charged for it.
  6. We wanted drinks, but they wouldn't bring the drink cart out. I guess we need to drink first and then play. I was already getting 3 or 4 times the swings as other golfers and that's only counting the ones where I actually hit the ball. By about the 8th hole, I was hitting the ball a lot more often. 7. Ok, maybe golf isn't all bad. I tried it this last fall during our in-service and decided it was one whole hell of a lot harder to hit that little bitty ball than I ever imagined. It's supposed to become an annual event, so I'll probably give it another try. It sure can't compare to skydiving though and if the weather is good enough for golf, it would have to be good enough for jumping!! "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! 8. No, it is definitely not egotistical. If you like the line of work in general, you might look at teh field of construction managemnet. There are some good programs out there in this area. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  9. 50 degrees and not willing to jump? That sounds so good to me , you couldn't believe it. It was about 25 at best on the ground when I jumped the other day. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  10. A girl's goot get her priorities straight, right??? "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  11. LOLI always thought that golf was a waste of time and money and now I know it's even worse than I thought!! "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  12. My niece shared this with me earlier and I thougt it might get a smile or two. An old man is sitting on a bench at the mall. A young man walks up and sits down on the bench. The young man has spiked hair in many different colors: Red, blue, green, purple, pink, and orange. The old man just stared at the young man. The young man said, "What's the matter old timer? Never done anything crazy in your life?" The old man replied," Got drunk once and had sex with a peacock, just wondering if you were my son..." 13. THat sounds warmer than my drafty old house. It's a 100+ year old Victorian with a little gas furnace. l had thought about putting in central heating and air, but then I did a tandem skydive. That got moved way down the priority list
  14. Oh, brrrrrrrrrr. That makes it seem a lot warmer here. That is a pretty vivid image, but it gets the point across well. Sounds like you're feelin' pretty yucky. Get better fast. The flu is the pits.
  15. From my limited perspective, I can't even imagine wanting any unnecessary distractions while skydiving. There's way more than enough to keep my mind well occupied. Just focusing on staying stable and pulling at the correct altitude is sufficiently challenging for me. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  16. Thanks for the suggestion about the Gator. I did invest in Under Armor and it does a good job of keeping the body warm. I wore it doing a 5k run on Thanksgiving and by about half-way through I was shedding layers. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  17. Sounds like a nice, balanced diet to me "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  18. Actually, spring, summer and fall should be great, unless summer gets too hot. We should be in the 60's by sometime in March and the 80's and 90's by July. I just didn't have sense enough to wait until then to start jumping. I did that first tandem and that was all she wrote. I just couldn't wait!!! 19. Every jump has been in freezing weather, except that first tandem in October. I'm really looking forward to warmer weather. It's fine in the plane on the way up, but when they pop that door open......DAMN....IT"S COLD.....Jump before last was the first one where the ground was snow covered. It was beautiful, but it sure made it more challenging for a beginner to find the dz. This time was better. i seem to be developed a better sense of where i am in the air now. I like jumping more everytime I jump. I have pretty decent stability in freefall, and I'm finally getting a little better at landing where I'm supposed to and not face planting. If I had flared a little bit later, I probably could have stood up the landing. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  20. Thanks. It's sorta nice to let all you youngsters know that life continues to be fun even at my age. It keeps me young at heart even if the bod is showing a little wear and tear. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  21. What's really nice is that I even landed in the area i was supposed to this time----not across the street "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  22. I am, I am. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  23. We didn't even get that warm here yesterday, but I jumped anyway. My face got so cold I didn't even realize my riser sorta smacked me across the cheek until my instructor asked me about where it had cut my cheek. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  24. Same for me. I got to do my 5th jump yesterday and it went so much beter than the last couple did. Now, if it would just warm up a little. It was in the mid-20's yesterday. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
  25. LOL I sorta like snakes, It's just the spiders I've got a problem with. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
