I have always had a question about that. I have been told to go straight for your reserve handle if you are still in the "red" on your alti. What exactly is the purpose behind that and is it necessary to pull your cut-away handle first?

Commute to work is 40 minutes. Commute to DZ 15 minutes.

I don't think "shit happens" when you have paid to keep it from happening. I would get my money back and take my business elsewhere.

There are more injuries and deaths in snowboarding because a lot more people snowboard than skydive. If they were the same I think skydiving would win out on this one.

I agree. It amazes me what people consider extreme sports. Snowboarding?? Since when was playing in the snow extreme?

Yeah, my home DZ is real slow too but it's a small one anyway. It's mostly a tandem factory. It's hard to find other fun jumpers to go up with anymore.

My turn off to RW as a new jumper is the difference in attitudes between the RW and FF jumpers I have been exposed to so far. Although everybodies attitude has been positive the RW folks seem to be much more rigid?? I don't know if that's the right word to describe it or not. This is just my own perception.

Depending on what kind of 170 it was (i.e. as long as it's not a Stiletto, and as long as it's either ZP or pretty new F111) yes. No, it's not a Stiletto. It's a Sabre. I jumped it again this weekend and have been landing it really well. Every time I have jumped it I feel it has been easier because it has been in high winds. I had a cold the very first jump I did and it was the worst pain I have ever felt. I ended up having to go to the doctor to get pain meds. It lasted for about two weeks. It almost cost me my hearing. I would wait... "Death smiles upon everybody, all a man can do is smile back" ~Jason

I weigh 135 pounds, have 40 jumps (A license). The smallest canopy I have jumped so far has been a 190. Landings have been great. I just bought my own rig that has an Omega 149 in it. I plan on jumping a 170 at least a couple of times first, but am I pushing it too quickly? I don't want to hurt myself but I really want to jump my own shit!
