Lesbian I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Which is more important -- my rights, or your safety?
davjohns replied to wmw999's topic in Speakers Corner
Which is more important -- my rights, or your safety? MY rights and MY safety. I expect you have a similar perspective, in that YOUR rights and safety are paramount. I think we can each have both. I have always exercised my right to keep and bear arms in order to protect my safety, that of my family, and yours. So, I reject the idea that one has to give way to the other. Taking away my rights will reduce my safety and yours. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. I do have a problem with those who want to arbitrarily reduce my ability to get out of a situation using maneuverability and speed. That's why I refuse to drive cutback/locked up trucks... I do not think it is safe... The truck I drive will do about 112mph... When I was young and in my prime... I ran that truck 100 mph all the time... I'm older now and turning gray and happy to run 70 all day... Killler You're confusing me. I've been gray...and I'm in my prime. For some reason, when I try to say 'gullible and oranges' five times fast, it takes on a nice little rythm and makes me want to play a drum around a fire in Africa. Eh...I'm sure everyone is experiencing that. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Will the Federal Assault weapon ban include .22 rifles?
davjohns replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
Actually, do research on home made flame throwers, and you'll find that Coleman stove fuel (available at Walmart and such) is preferred. It does not have the explosive fumes of gasoline and makes a nice, tight stream. The Anarchist's Cookbook and Poor Man's James Bond were practically required reading when I was a kid. Guns were fine, but explosives were more fun. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Gun registration will never be a compromise issue. England, Australia and Canada pitched it as a compromise, then used it to confiscate. I will never go for it. I'm constantly amazed at people who make comments about my bike being too powerful or too fast. I am confused by using those words together. More gun laws? Why? Anti's need to look at the facts and then STFU

OK, Mr. Quibbler. Offense was too strong a term. It actually takes a long, sharp bayonette to hurt my feelings. I should have said something like, "I disagree with one small point." Better? I've been told that the .22 is the most lethal round in the US statistically. I haven't done the research to verify. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. "A special thank you goes out to Kallend who keeps the party going by tirelessly interjecting some intelligence & reason into the discussions." I stopped reading at this point. The tears of laughter streaming down my face me it too hard to read. Thanks for that. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Full agreement. I've bought at shows. They are set up to do the background check right then and there. And guess what? It's a background check. Been doing it for years. So, there is no gunshow loophole and there are already background checks. So, what is this legislation really? As pointed out, what they are selling as a gunshow loophole is really the ability for me to sell to you. They want to limit my ability to sell my property. And clearly, they want some kind of background check other than checking for felonies. We already do that nationwide. Just for fun, I'll throw in that we know the assault weapon ban doesn't do anything to reduce crime. We tried that. So, what is America really being sold here? All I've heard so far, I know to be deception. I'm happy to read the rest, but I'm not optimistic. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Although I am a dedicated advocate of an armed society, I am going to take some offense at the STFU in the thread title. I think there needs to be some adult discourse on the subject. (I have given up on adult discourse on this forum) I think we have lost some things in our society that will be hard to regain and we have to admit that and deal with it. I don't think the average gun owner is trained by dad, uncle, grandpa as they were once. Training would be nice. I don't think family, friends, neighbors are taking responsibility for those around them as they once did. What I mean is, two guys can no longer go to their neighbor's front door and say, "Ed, you have a drinking problem. Until you get it under control, Harry's going to hold onto your guns." or, "Tommy, you smack your wife around again, Frank and I are going to smack you around, get it?" So, I think we could use some training / licensing before firearms purchase, ownership, carrying. The problem is that this has been used in the past by anti-gun zealots as a precursor to taking firearms out of the hands of law abiding citizens. How can we encourage responsible firearm ownership and use without endangering what I consider an unalienable right of a citizen? I would like to think a trade-off would be possible. For instance, a law that implements firearms use and safety training in schools that results in licensure during high school or thereabouts; but with an accompanying guarantee that the license will not be withheld and holding the license gives the holder the right to carry concealed, open, in a car, at home, in a theater, in a restaurant, etc. Oh, and no more of this tracking what I own stuff. If I hold the license, I walk into the store and purchase what I want without paperwork. No opportunity to show at my house with a list and demand I surrender my weapons. People on both sides will likely rebel at this idea, but that's one of the traits of a trade-off. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Burglars Hit Home of Gun Owner ID’d by Newspaper

The article went on that: This, to me, presents some First Amendment issues. Like it or not, such a law would be a prior restraint of free speech. I don’t like those. Unless the law is to prevent the state or localities from releasing the names of those with gun permits. That I don’t have a problem with. I agree with you. But isn't that where this information came from? Surely the gun owners were not registered with the paper? They were registered with the government; who then released that information in violation of the privacy of the individuals. We protect information of owners of car plates because it put Jodi Foster in danger once. Do gun owners have to be threatened with violence before the same thought process applies? I agree with this. Some causal connection would be nice. Very possible the two events are being linked because people are pissed the media did what it did. I agree with their reaction, but this is not necessarily proof of consequences. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. OK - that's it. I am done with this. You people are just crazy and it concerns me that it's the likes of you that want lethal force on everyone's hip. I hope nobody ever murders your kids with a "legal" firearm. More emotion based argument. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Dog - I've taken mine. Played with him between jumps. Kept him chained and watered. He likes being with the humans. But I want to shoot the ones that run out onto the DZ or LZ when I'm trying to land / launch...or at least their owners. Coffee - I have to have a mug. I like wrapping both hands around it, cradling it to my cheek, resting it between my legs, and generally cuddling with it. Cardboard and styrofoam is what I imagine making love to a blow up doll would be like. Gets the job done, but not nearly the same. There's a chance I've been living alone too long. When your comments about coffee have a definite romantic slant, something might have gone wrong. And then, there's my interaction with my motorcycle...
