  1. I got violated on a flight once. And I'm ok with aborting the HIPPA laws. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  2. Funny. That's what I did. I thought I was the only one in this crowd that did stuff like that. lol I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  3. If that is the standard, we are screwed. The initial link to Huffington Post was a story that was a lie. CNN, NBC and MSNBC are horribly stilted in their reporting. I can't honestly think of one public source that I completely trust. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  4. "Is it treason to leave the EU? In short, no as each country within the EU maintains its own sovereignty." Interesting. I can think of some states that thought this same thing at one time. There was a big fight over it. Still inspires debate. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  5. Well, I wasn't being personal when I used the word 'you'. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  6. Sometimes, if you send a thrill up my leg really well, it will cause my whole body to jerk. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  7. Why the 'either / or'? Can't things be both. I find they often are. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  8. This is kind of interesting given other recent discussion. Is the EU a union, or a loose confederation of states? Does the UK have the right to secede from the Union? Is it treason? 9. I couldn't remember the full story, so I lifted this from wiki. In March 2000 Smith & Wesson was the only major gun manufacturer to sign an agreement with the Clinton Administration. The company agreed to numerous safety and design standards as well as limits on the sale and distribution of its products. Gun clubs and gun rights groups responded to this agreement by initiating large-scale boycotts of Smith & Wesson by refusing to buy their new products and flooding the firearms market with used S&W guns. After a 40% sales slide, the sales impact from the boycotts led Smith & Wesson to suspend manufacturing at two plants. The success of the boycott led to a Federal Trade Commission antitrust investigation's being initiated under the Clinton administration, targeting gun dealers and gun rights groups, which was subsequently dropped in 2003. This agreement signed by Tomkins PLC ended with the sale of Smith & Wesson to the Saf-T-Hammer Corporation. The new company (Smith and Wesson Holding Corporation), which publicly renounced the agreement, was received positively by the firearms community. [edit] Acquisition by Saf-T-HammerOn 11 May 2001, Saf-T-Hammer Corporation acquired Smith & Wesson Corp. from Tomkins PLC for US$15 million, a fraction of the US$112 million originally paid by Tomkins. Saf-T-Hammer assumed US$30 million in debt, bringing the total purchase price to US$45 million. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. 10. One engine out. Pilot getting a parachute on. Seemed like a good idea at the time. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  11. My grandfather once told me he didn't understand why people spoke so often of 'the good ol' days'. He said he once went on a date in a borrowed Model A Ford and had three flats during the date. His modern car never had flats. He said, 'These ARE the good ol' days'. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. 12. I'm gay and I've never seen you at any of the meetings. Actually, I'm a lesbian. Since I'm in a man's body, they don't actually allow me in the meetings. But I've never seen you entering the meetings while I sit outside in my car wishing I was in the meeting. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. 13. Sometimes, you just need to go all COWBOY on someone. They want to test missiles? Fine. We need to test interceptors. Park a few Aegis ships off their coast and shoot down whatever they send up. Everyone's happy, right? When they imprisoned the two American women for 25 years over being on the wrong side of the border, I had another cowboy solution. Send a former President to pick them up. Inform NK that the former President is coming. He will start at the border and walk to wherever the women are. The US military will clear the path in front of him. The path can be long or short depending on where NK deposits the women. If the former President has to walk through the ruins of Pyongyang to get to the women, so be it. Sometimes, you just have to call crazy what it is and react accordingly. When I was a cop, I used a tactic more than once with great success. I explained very rationally what I was going to do to someone if they failed to settle down. It involved very painful force. People who were deemed crazy by others were quite rational for me. We understood each other. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. 14. You are intentionally being obtuse. Both are problems and should be addressed. However, the point of the prior poster was more effort should be put into greater problems. If more teens are being killed with drugs, prevention of that problem should receive greater resources. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  15. I read the bill. It clearly said that the intent must be to destroy evidence of a crime. I think it could have had something in there saying that it would not be construed as criminalizing the rape victim's decision to abort the child for personal reasons. But otherwise, it attempted to put more criminal sanctions on rapists. The statements that it makes rape victims criminals and incubators for the state were just blatant lies. So, a law designed to help rape victims might not make it because someone had a poltical axe to grind. Great. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. 16. Nonsense. It's a legal definition. It was legally defined in the last ban. It may be redefined in a new one. How do you define "expert"? Exactly my point. The 'definition' is fluid...which is the opposite of 'defined', isn't it? Apparently an expert is anyone who has an occupation somehow related to the subject, has experienced some measure of success, and agrees with the opinion of those reporting the opinion. 17. In general, I do not disagree. If you are an adult who has assessed that you are no longer interested in what the future holds or things are just not worth working through, feel free to exit. Pre-apy for your final expenses, report to the hospital and pop a pill. Nobody else's concern if you do it correctly. However, we are talking here about kids who are experiencing hormonal changes and social pressures that will probably go away. If we can prevent them killing themselves and others until they get through that stage of life, we should. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  18. Two different posters intentionally missed the point. Which is a real problem? When a hundred kids die individually from overdose or when twenty die in one place at one time? Is a person who dies by accidental overdoes less dead than ones who had the drugs forced upon them? The points was expenditure of resources compared to lives saved. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  19. 1. There is no such thing as an 'assault weapon'. It is a fictional term with no definition. 2. Someone who carries a gun because of work is no more an expert on guns than drivers of cars are expert mechanics. Most of the police officers I knew when I was one were hard pressed to qualify. They fired their weapon when required to. I saw more than one who could not remember how to reload on the qualification range. I once saw a revolver that was locked up from rust because it had not left the hoster since the last mandatory qualification. People keep running out the opinions of prominent figures to support gun control because those prominent figures work in an industry that uses weapons. They ignore the fact that weapons carried by cops and weapons carried by military are unrelated to the second amendment. It's like asking your wife her opinion of restrictor plates in NASCAR. She drives a car (possibly really fast). She must be an expert, right? This is a social issue. People are getting to a place in their mind where they want to kill people who did them no harm; and possibly die thereafter. If you take away their firearms, they will do it with something else, but their victims might not be able to defend themselves. The first step in problem solving is identifying the problem. The problem is clearly something in the head of these people and how it got there. All of this effort at eliminating the tool is NOT aimed at solving the problem. Political elite who want to disarm the population have made this about tools when it should be about real problems. They have no idea how to help improve the culture, so they are going after something easier. They also want to frame the issue as one of sports activities and self defense. The second amendment is about neither. It is about keeping the political elite in their place. It is about ultimate power (brute force) being in the hands of the people. The vast majority of America is completely missing the point...including people on this forum. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  20. "Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters." - Benjamin Franklin I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. 21. I was trying to come up with the words, but don't think I can improve on yours. Bravo. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  22. Agreed. I really don't care for consipracy theories or dark motives. Most government fuckery is more easily attributed to laziness or pure incompetence. I am often reminded of the bite from Dark Knight Rises (I think) where the good guy tells the Joker that it's all part of the Joker's plan. The Joker looks at him (in full makeup and wearing a nurse's uniform) and says, "Do I look like a guy with a plan?" I think most of our Senators and Congress Members should put on the clown paint. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  23. I've mulled this over a while now. It doesn't get better with time. Either this Senator has some ulterior motive akin to gun registration, or he just can't see past the end of his nose. There is really no way I can come up with to turn this into something that will not cause the kids problems. Maybe that's the point? Stigmatize the kids so their parents will get rid of the guns? I'm lost on this one. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  24. Turtle!!! Get your reptilian ass over here to Belgium and clean my screen! That was classic. I had a mental image and everything. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  25. There's some truth to that. I always liked the joke: "If you want to know who loves you, lock your dog and your spouse in the trunk for an hour; then, see who is happy to see you when you let them out." I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
