You allude to the elusive. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

If you make more than $30.000 a year, you're doing better than most...
davjohns replied to ibx's topic in Speakers Corner
I'm not sure I'm in the top 15-20, either. But that was my point. There's something in the way they interpreted the data that doesn't make the report appear accurate to me. I hate reports that pretend to report facts and actually interpret facts the way the author wants things to be. That would be most of what I see in the media, by the way. I get annoyed when I see the talking heads on TV that cite a study where XX% of people who were asked, "Do you think the YY Political Party is doing a good job?" responded in the affirmative. Then, the talking head says, "What this means is...Americans love my way of thinking and want me to do whatever I think is right". What it actually means is, if you ask that particular set of people that question on the day you asked it, you will get that answer that percentage of the time. Expanding on the meaning is so very ridiculous. But they do it every day to try to pretend they are right. In the instant case, there is data underlying the article that is not revealed to the reader. The reader might walk away with a completely different idea of what the data means...and that isn't allowed. Thinking for yourself is so very dangerous. :/ I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. They're reporting the results of polls taken by self-identified libertarians; that's not racist. Wendy P. I must have missed the part where they were described as racist. I thought about this article some. I think the writer is clearly liberal and had a bit of an agenda. The ending where he applauds women for supporting a societal safety net was pretty telling. My issue with it is that it is so pessimistic...particularly about women. It says that most people will fail. Why? If we are to believe a bell-shaped curve, most will be fine. Some will do well. Some will not. This author rejects that and says most people in society need saving...particularly women. That's my biggest issue with Affirmative Action and the like. It seems to assume women / minorities are inferior and need a boost to be competitive. I just don't buy that. If women truly don't care for libertarian ideals because they are afraid of failure, are we teaching them wrong, or is there some inherent fear they can't overcome? What is the issue with minorities? I could obviously argue that the social safety net makes some people comfortable, so they are not inspired to achieve great things. My idea of libertarian is that removing the fear of failure (inspiration) and taxing away the rewards of achievement, leads to a societal stagnation. So, the safety net should not leave anyone comfortable enough to stay there, and the taxation should not discourage achievement. The individual should be free to soar or fail as they choose. Meanwhile, everyone should stay out of everyone else's business as long as nobody is being hurt. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. I think you're higher than Obama. I went to a family reunion one time in Selma, Alabama. Some of us looked different from others. Big Daddy Johnson had two families. What they used to call a 'front porch' family and a 'back porch' family. We count them all as family. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Religious fundamentalists stepped in when people needed something. Same thing in Iraq. Find pictures of women in Iraq in the 70s. They wore the same stuff American women wore in the 70s. Very few head scarves and short skirts. Iran was about the same. That's why we had gotten so close with the Shah. They were on their way to becoming western. Wow. Must be a British thing. The Police Spokesperson was handed that story and managed to make it boring. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

President Obama says he’s sorry for Americans losing insurance plans
davjohns replied to rickjump1's topic in Speakers Corner
It's a step in the right direction. I prefer something much more blunt, but that's pretty rare in politics. One of the things I respected about Bush was a comment one time when a reported asked whose fault something was. I don't recall the issue. Bush said, "You want to blame someone? Blame me. I'm the President." I've found that taking responsibility for mistakes usually ends the issue. Personally, I would take it all better if someone came out and said something like, "The website doesn't work right. We pushed to get it up too fast and didn't have the right people in place. We've got the right people in place now. We're going to delay to next year so it can be tested properly. Mistakes were made. They will not be repeated." Take whatever controversy point you want. I picked the website. Just admit mistakes were made; summarize your plan to fix it; assure people that mistake will not be made again; move on. I know. I just wish they would make it clear that ANY planetfall is unlikely to hit a poplated area. I recognize you have to state the obvious for the masses. It just annoys me sometimes. "Nobody knows where or when the fragments will hit, but the European Space Agency has said the parts are likely to fall into the ocean or unpopulated areas." Absolutely true and completely useless. Most of the Earth is 'ocean or unpopulated areas'. Therefore, it is likely to come down there. It's like saying it is most likely to hit the planet. Yes it is. Can you refine that just a bit? If you don't know, just say it is too early to tell. Silly quotes just jump out at me. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Finally opened up a couple of attachments in this thread. Wondered what all the fuss was about. In my opinion, the quality of breasts in the 'rack' thread is much better than the quality of tackle posted herein. Again...IMHO I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. You have a gift with words. Call her right now and use this as a script. Drunk dialing might be better. Please record it and post a link here. And for people who were having fun the whole time? No crisis. Just keep charging straight ahead.

I looked at that picture very closely. Then, I read the posts and discovered all kinds of things in the picture that I swear were not there. I caught the stethoscope and the bra because they were in the way of the view. I caught the hair because it made a nice frame. I have no idea if these comments about toilets, sinks, and counters are genuine or not. You folks have super human powers of observation...or maybe I have a boobie addiction. My first guess was Promise. The hair reminds me of Lucky. I don't think they're DD's. I'll go back for another look and see if anything comes to mind. Good luck with that. If you want to hear how your truck sounds as we roll over it in my Jeep (you're in the passenger seat, of course), I'll snatch the doors and roof off right quick. This is my third Wrangler. Once you get used to driving around naked, nothing else will do. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. It only makes sense. If the government is going to be responsible for your health care, they have to be able to tell you how to care for your health. Responsibility = Authority.
