That's my point. That's why I don't play in the stock market. I know I am still a player in an indirect way. I just refuse to directly invest. Best I can do in our system. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Mixed feelings. Kind of like pro ball players. They are paid that much because they make the company that much. I just don't like when people pretend the athletes are heroes or the players start moaning and groaning about how bad their lives are. CEOs are hopefully paid so much because they are worth it. Lately, however, I don't see it. If they were making the company take off like a young Microsoft, no worries. I just have difficulty taking my lumps in the market with a company that pays the execs huge bonuses for a profitless quarter. Some of those nuts are being given enormous stock options and incentives for breathing. Not with my money. Just my .02... I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

I was heavily studying stocks and investing at one time. I looke up companies' financial reports and all the good stuff analysts do. But then I made the mistake of looking at benefits for Board Members, CEOs and such. I bowed out of the stock market. It's amazing what they get away with. How much more profitable companies would be if run efficiently is anyone's guess. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Somebody help me out. I understood economics in grad school, but it has been a while. Why do the graphs above seem at odds with this one? http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/graph/?s[1][id]=GCEC96 I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Also agree. When someone runs at the pitcher from the dugout, there is an assault. Why isn't the guy lead off the field in cuffs? I saw a clip from a basketball game recently where a player obviously threw a nasty elbow into another player's head while the ball was not in play. I think the assaulted player suffered substantial injury. Why didn't that attacker walk off the court in cuffs? It would send a pretty good message to all of those kids who were watching. Might even make them think twice before doing the same thing on the court. So many people hold these guys up as roll models because they play a child's game well and get paid lots of money for it. I have never understood that. I'm sure some of them are genuinely good people. But nobody would have ever heard of Tim Tebow if he was the same nice guy, but picked up your garbage once a week. I haven't done the research to take a stance on this issue right now. I just want to throw out something to consider. Many government jobs are outsourced. In my particular government area, a large percentage of the employees are actually not government employees, but contractors. Constractors are used to replace government workers and all the graphs and statistics might be tracking one, but not the other. I have no idea if the percentages of government employee to contractor are different across the administrations, but I know that I see many more contractors today than I once did. It could just be my rank and positions now. Not sure. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. And that question greatly reduced my interest in SCUBA in and out of the hotel... I'm ok with passing other guests on my way in and out. I challenge you to find something more fucked up than this...

College professor, illegal alien and two mothers. All are oxygen thieves and a waste of skin. Manson's sentence was not commuted to life without parole, but just life. He comes up for parole routinely. His case is political enought that he will likely never receive it. Outside of SC, who heard of these two case of infant rape? What pressure will there one day be on a parole board when even the mothers of these children stood by and did nothing (or facilitated)? And I read the article at the second link. There was no way to make reparations to that victim. The perpetrator needs to be executed as quickly as possible. Unless that story is just an outright lie, that individual has negative value as a human being. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. I would jump on that bandwagon in a heartbeat if I thought there was no chance the person would be paroled or pardoned or such. I just can't imagine that, given some time, some parole board will not give the person another chance when the person has clearly forfeited their right to live. And let's face it, the courts are never going let us put prisoners to any meaningful level of work. Even depriving them of cable TV is a problem. If I thought that, by living, the person could be made to produce enough to pay for their incarceration (tall order) and something to send the victim for the rest of the perpetrator's life, I would be shoulder to shoulder with you on this issue. I just think killing them is the best we are ever going to do. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. I know I'll be in the minority for this...but I am a firm believer in the death penalty and that it should be available for cases of rape. In some ways, rape can be worse than murder. This child may have problems the rest of her life and not have the memories to even make sense of it. This man is so morally depraved that I can never justify letting him loose in society again. In some cases, a person can make themselves as undesireable to society as a cancer is to a body. And as much as we may hate it, there is only one cure. Destroy it. I'm pretty sure Killer was referring to how the press is bringing up brain damage and the NFL "responsibility" to take care of former players. Can't say. I couldn't view the video. I only read the story. I'm sure the person who wrote the story made her sound more credible. I haven't read anything about this. Just know the very basics. Did people see her take the child into the tanning device? The child just being in the room where mom undresses and waiting while mom was in the device is very different from taking the child into the device. Taking the child into the room is a bit odd, but not outrageous. I would just be concerned about the child staring at the bulbs if it was a bed. If it was one of the enclosed booths...much ado about nothing to me. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Eh. She's enjoying her fifteen minutes of fame and trying to score while doing it. Not the first time. She makes the agent sound like a complete idiot. This discussion is actually bringing up lots of thoughts for me. One of them is the theory that the ability to destroy something is the ultimate power over it. If I don't have the ability (right) to end my life, whose life is it? How much control am I going to be allowed over my life by other people? If I have the ability to be a physician and find a cure for cancer, but I want to be a football player, do you get to make the choice for me? If you think what I am doing with my life is a waste, do you get to make the decision? Seems like a slippery slope to me. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. I think we first need to decide if we let a guy who calls himself 'killer' participate in the discussion.... :) Just kidding around. I acutally tend to agree with this. If you decide your life sucks and you want to quit, how can society justify making you hang around? I understand we could argue that we invested money in this person's education and such and want a return through their work, but we don't make this argument with lots of people on welfare. So long as you make arrangements for disposition of your assets and body / don't leave a bunch of debt / don't harm anyone else, I can't see arguing the case. Now, if the person is merely afflicted by temporary circumstances, I can justify talking them out of it or doing something to defeat their plan until they come around. But that's a very difficult call sometimes. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Hang gliding site is mostly reviewing safety practices to prevent this happening to someone else...and the occasional joke about the law enforcement officer who will retrieve the SD card. Otherwise, a great deal of concern for the family of the young lady. Hang gliding had strong ties to the hippie movement way back when, so it still has lots of laid back vibes today. Not as much ego as skydiving. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. If I had it all to do over again, I would never have gotten married and would have been a Navy pilot. That's not a joke. I've known it for years. Well...I'm 44. I finally saw here on the television this morning and thought she looked really old. Poor thing must have issues to think that looks good. This would be hard to define. Life is terminal, so using the word terminal doesn't help. Pain is pain. Some would much rather face physical pain than emotional pain. And when the body and mind are tied together, when does one not effect the other? Usually, people recognize when something is temporary and they avoid suicide. That's why the holidays are rarely a time for suicide (despite popular belief). Depressed people think it is just the holidays, so they don't do it. When it is long term, it gets hard to justify making someone live their own life when they want to leave. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Excellent reply. Better still would be a government that carries out it's required duties with dignity and competence. Going Flat Tax will decrease some of the operating budget of the IRS. But not by much. It would actually be minimal as only certain people wouldn't need to be paid attention to, such as W2 wagers that can use the 1040EZ, who are actually a small percentage of the population. If you want to reduce the IRS more, you would have to get rid of all deductions and credits and the Schedule A, B, D, E. F, G. But, you still have the farmers, business owners, trust fund babies, alimony recipients, ect. who don't report income till tax time. This requires oversight that utilizes the bulk of the IRS right now. So, in my estimation, Flat Tax with elimination of deductions and credits will reduce IRS cost by 10% at best. From 12 billion to about 10 billion a year. Close. Wrong set of three-letter organization I belong to. But, my insight comes from a decade of being a volunteer tax preparer for them. You get a lot of exposure doing this. I don't get paid. My motivation is staying on top of the tax code (my return averages about 150 pages), and keeping my Sailors out of hot water with taxes. Then I suppose you've seen a complete set of the US Tax code. It takes up more shelf space than the Alabama Code. How can you say that eliminating that would not require much less administration? I'll do some research, but I think you're shooting from the hip on that one. To your comment on why we get deductions on charitable donations, I received this quote in my email this morning: ""Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the government." -- James Madison I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet..
