  2. I got my cast off last night. I guess my boss either: a) misses it b) wants to torture me with lasting thoughts of that bastard chunk of fiberglass c) is happy I can move around (a little) again, and wanted to celebrate See attached for picture of celebratory cake ... and yes, it even has little toes Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving

  4. hmm... well I'm at work drunk right now... I find it makes the day go by faster. Would I want anyone to say anything to me? Sure! I'd ask them if they want a drink too! But then again, it's an ongoing thing for me. I'd say if this is his first time, give him a break, leave it alone for now. But I'm not an alcoholic .... they go to meetings. 5. To anyone that has one - what is in it that the USPA hasn't already posted to its site? On their site they have all the course syllibi and proficiency cards in PDF format. Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving
  6. you see the idiots with the swing off the skyway bridge?! They're lucky they didn't all die, it was kinda on the upswing when it broke Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving
  7. Andrea - Hope you get it all worked out. As was suggested before, talk to the offending party and demand answers. Maybe they were being mean, maybe something was misunderstood. Of course, if they were being mean.... kick 'em where they pee. Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving

  9. I mean, if I went around saying I was an Emperor because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, people would put me away! Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving
  10. Must be the hot, sweaty, firm breasts heaving and slick bodies rubbing togeth .... err... sorry, wrong forum.... Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving
  11. I keep telling people this is why I don't land in planes... too dangerous. I mean, that's when most accidents happen! Glad to hear everyone is ok on this one. Give him awhile, and I"m sure we'll get an explanation from Chris Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving
  12. pleasure me orally... both of you Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving
  13. Very good point Quade. That's why my first couple jumps back are going to be hop n pops. If I can't land on the dz doing that, I probably shouldn't be jumping at all! I've thought about wearing a brace too, in case the landing is a little rough. That should give me a good idea if a rough off-dz landing is going to hurt me. 14. I'm kinda in the same boat, broke my tib/fib back in Feb. I get the cast off in about 120 more hours (but who's really keeping track?) And I'm planning on jumping in about 160 more hours Talk to you doctor, make sure it's healing well. If it's not, don't risk it You don't want to reinjur it and be out for the rest of the year. If he says it's healing well, make sure you feel ok with it. I've been putting weight on my leg for the last 3 weeks, a little bit at a time. For the past few days I've been walking without crutches when I can, and it hasn't really bothered me. One of the things you don't want to do it over-baby it, and when you land you take the whole force with your good leg. I've actually thought about jumping a big main for the first couple jumps to make sure, but I haven't decided yet, not sure I want to re-learn flying a bus on a bum leg, especially since it'll be 8 weeks since I've jumped. You said you're still on AFF? How many jumps have you made? Out of those jumps, how many landings have been bad? Do you have any hardware in your leg? If you're not confident you can land without seriously biffing, you might want to wait awhile longer. Drink lots of milk, do the physical therapy thing, and if you smoke, stop. If it makes you feel any better, it looks like Ozzy Osbourn broke his leg somehow (watching MTV now) - he doesn't seem a whole lot different on pain killers than off Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving
  15. Ok, so I'm sitting here burning CDs with CNN on the TV (it's 4am, what else you want me to be doing?!?) Anyway, they have this little blurb about police in Thailland are going to start using "para-motors" (powered para gliders) This of course get my attention. They show little clips of them taking off, onlookers looking on, and then they show this one guy landing in a turn! And I mean his lines are about parallel to the ground! After a good cloud of dust and flying limbs, he gets back up, apparently unhurt. Keep in mind, he did this with a motor and prop on his back! 16. Pammi All the canopy nazis are saying is that it's not a good idea to go small quickly. They're not calling you stupid, don't take it personal. They've seen people do that and get hurt, and they're trying to impress that upon others. She's not saying everyone that does gets killed or screwed up for life, but enough do/have that she's going to preach being conservative to lessen the chances of someone getting hurt. And this isn't an exclusive club - I could point you to a group of motorcyclists that, when a new rider asks "Is a R6 a good bike to start with" - everyone yells "No!" People get hurt/killed doing that, but evenone thinks "No, if I'm careful it's fine" - which is true for the majority of people that do it anyway. But if it's not true for, let's say 1 out of 50 people - isn't that still too many people dying? Add to the problem that you now have 49 people saying "I did it, and you'll be fine too" - problem is, that 1 person isn't around to say "Don't!" so someone else has to. Wow.. I just completely rambled for way too long. Hope the point didn't get lost in there. Composing meaningful posts at work is tough Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving
  17. Try saying: "I'll get right on that" Instead of: "Fuck off!" Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving
  18. I just got a mental image, and had to share: You in a pink robe, holding an inflatable hammer (instead of a staff), standing on a hillside proudly looking down on your herd. (and your herd happens to be grazing on cookies and beer) Gawd... where's photoshop when you need it.... oh cookies! Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving

    Road Rage

This may surprise you, but it was only 52% I don't pass in the "bonus lane" .... unlike some people I know... that shall remain nameless... but drive little red cars... and are nicknamed sunshine.... I'd like to see Cajun's score. People almost kill him on the road, and he just gives them a stern look. Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving

    Road Rage

OMG! That "have you done any modifications.." question reminded me of a car I saw on my way home from work yesterday. It was a Hyundai Accent with a phat-ass spoiler and had a wicked-bad resonator on it. It looked FAST! Let me tell you, I'm surprised the guy didn't have a 5 point restraint system and complete roll cage in that thing. We're talkin the speed is so dangerous, he had to get a spolier to help keep it on the road! And I don't mean just any old spoiler, I mean to say this thing was 2 feet off the deck (just at the right level to block any view that was to be had out the back window) And I'm pretty sure this wasn't even the GS version, so we're talking a whopping 92 hp here. Well, ok, the resonator probably added 20 hp, and the spolier probably added another 32 hp. And with all that mind-blowing power, I'm surprised those stock tires could keep it on the road. Ok.. I'm done. I just laughed for like 20 minutes over that yesterday, and had to stretch it out for a few more minutes worth today. Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving
  22. Run away. Run far far away. Don't talk to her, make sure she has none of your numbers (change them if need be) Threatening suicide is -usually- just a threat. In that sense, it's considered a form of emotional abuse. (so of course, Dr. Drew's first question would be "was she abused as a child?") Don't fall for it. Let her family help her out/worry about it. Now, let's say she finds you in two years and says she got help, her life is in in order, and she just misses you and would like to get together. Then, it'd be a harder decision. But right now, you just need to stay away. Besides the fact that you're not sure if she's mentally stable, if you get back together, you may never know in your heart if you got back with her because you wanted to/loved her; or if her threat worked on you. 23. I still think it actually goes: "If you love something let it go... If it comes back to you, you probably high-sided." Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving
  24. Never miss a good chance to shut up. Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it. Good judgment comes from bad experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment. Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving
