  1. Shouldn't be hard at all... Go back to your AFF training... if you are NOT altitude aware, get a parachute over your head. If you are under a spinning malfunction you can wait the rest of your life listening for an audible that may never come. You know you're in a malfunction situation and you have no visible way of discerning your altitude I believe the proper course of action would have been to cutaway. Glad it worked out for you the way it did, but I think you made a mistake. They teach things like that in static line training also... just sayin' Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I

  4. There is a certain level beyond which the average person doesn't need to go. It depends on what career you plan on pursuing. An English major probably doesn't need to take calculus. However, far too many people don't have even a basic level of understanding of algebra and geometry and that simply baffles me. Their excuse is usually something like "but I'm not good at math" which in my mind is essentially saying "but I'm illiterate." I'm not talking about anything all that advanced either, just the kind of stuff you'd grossly cover in the (for me) 9th grade. I don't get it. I don't get it either. People will go to great lengths to hide the inability to read, but proudly boast, often in front of their kids, that they can't do math. Excellent point! Yeah I grew up in central Mass. I am used to it. If it is going to be cold I assume have a ton of snow. I just don't want it to be cold anymore. I could handle hot, hotter, humid and hurricanes! I am over the seasons. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  6. Anyone have the list of people scheduled to do the last jump? Nope! I am disappointed for sure. What I am curious about is if we all paid our $30 and the jumps are canceled (meaning our veterans and soldiers who we were funding don't get to jump either) what is it that our money is going towards? Just curious. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I

  8. I'm one of them. I never touched algebra until my mid-twenties when I entered college. Much easier to learn that stuff at a young age. MUCH easier. I thought Algebra was a requirement to graduate high school... so how is this possible? Also, it is a pet peeve of mine when people say they won't use math in their current job. Do you have a need to think in your current job? If not then you won't need it. Math/Algebra/Calculus isn't about using the actual formulas, etc. later in life. The purpose is to apply thinking and analytical skills to every day problems. Math trains your mind to think. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I

  11. Do you have any more info? I know they won't give refunds because it was a "donation". But I have to say it doesn't seem right. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I

  13. Sourdough is the way to go. I am health conscious too, but not a fan of whole grain brain for french toast. I never knew people made it without vanilla. Mmmmm.... eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a sprinkle of sugar to make the outside crispy... Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I

  16. Hey Cael, I do know this is not the first time the Skydive Kentucky has hosted C130 jumps. They had the same thing go on last October. I don't think they know much in advance of when it is going to happen, but I would suspect this isn't the last time. I have heard that they would like to bring in different aircraft and allow soldiers to make jumps out of different types of aircraft. I think it is a great thing. 18. Your 18. Chances of the relationship lasting are slim to none. If she reacted this way about an "idea" she is obviously immature and selfish. Dump her now. "You only live once. And if you do it right once is all you need." Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  19. Max, All those who are advising you to reconsider flying your Pilot at this high of the wing loading this early in your skydiving progression are right, and you should up size to a lower loading till you are comfortable flying something smaller. Please work with your distributor on changing your setup to a bigger Pilot. We at Aerodyne will be more than happy to switch your order to a size that will keep you safe. Please let me know if there is anything on my end I can help you with? 20. Yall have fun with that Imma keep my ass warm! Jumps have been rescheduled due to the crappy weather. Here is what has been posted on skydiveky.com Mission execution weather suggests HALO drops not possible due to low ceiling and precipitation. JUMPS ARE CANCELED. HOWEVER, if you elect to still come and attend the safety briefing today at 19:00 (28-Jan-10, at 7:00PM Eastern) then you can be on standby for possible jump(s) from lower altitude on Friday should the weather permit. If the weather permits we can still jump but we felt it was burdensome on many people considering their inconvenience of travel time and expense to require attendance for jumps which are at best in question due to weather. Those who are currently registered you are as of now already registered for the C-130 TENTATIVELY scheduled for pre-briefing 18-Feb-10 and POSSIBLE on 19-Feb-10. If you can not attend on the next tentative dates please let us know so we can open this opportunity up to others. So I will be there. Again with ID in hand. Now on Feb 18th. 21. Explore Freefall in Franklin Indiana is exactly what a drop zone should be. Those who are new to the sport may not appreciate the "old time" vibe this drop zone has. It is the vibe drop zones had before the days of turbines and tandem factory type drop zones where the ultimate goal was great times both in the air and on the ground. The people here don't want you to do a tandem and send you on your way. They want to share their extreme passion, love and enthusiasm for the sport of skydiving. The goal is to educate, teach and instill the love of this sport into future generations. What will you get here that you won't at a larger drop zone? Student jumpers will get personal attention without the "hurry up and jump" attitude. Experienced jumpers will get on load after load after load all day long with 3 airplanes flying from sun up to sun down. Everyone will experience a sense of family when the sun goes down and the beer light comes on. Explore Freefall is the drop zone everyone needs to come and experience!

  24. Should I have said skydiving gear orgy? It's basic biology. The more things change the more they stay the same. It sucks, but what can you do? Sure having a great personality is nice, sure looking good is nice but if two guys came up and they both looked great and both had great personality and one made $300K a year and one only $100K....who would you date? The guy who makes $300k. Because let's face it money buys a lot of things in this world from a better longer life to more free time to know some one. But that being said, I say let's turn things around! Let's start a revolutions! From now on we men will only hit on well to do women so that we can focus on looking super sexy sand buy gear
