Stupid for what reason? Those two girls aren't the only ones the school disciminated against, they disciminated against ALL the students by denying them their right to attend the prom with whom they chose. If the girls can file suit, so can everyone else. I agree. It doesn't matter what they wear as long as their ankles don't show. It's bullshit. The school not only deprived the girls of their right to attend prom, they deprived the entire senior class. I hope the entire class files suit against the school. Well, yeah...duh! She looks just like one of my ex-girlfriends. The one who threatened to kill me after I broke up with her. Had to get a restraining order on that one. Judging the success of things based on how they turn out is called "outcomes assessment" and is an effective tool. I don't have to stick my hand in a pile of shit to know it will smell bad. Common sense often renders outcome assessment unnecessary. You do realize that people have been complaining about "the new folks" for at least the last 200 years; no? I would be willing to bet the natives here complained about the European settlers not speaking the local language when they came over. We should all speak Italian. Even if you can't hear, the hand and arm motions get the message across. I used to have my right foot on the brake and throttle at the same time, operating both, with my left foot dipping the clutch. Of course I was on a race track at the time, downshifting while trailbraking into the corners. Yep, got mine. Opened it, read it. You're right. It's a huge waste of money. Kinda like calling somebody on the phone just to tell them you will be calling them and leaving a message next week. And it's all Bush's fault, Clinton did it first, and Obama won't lift a finger to stop it. That is why I question whether this guy is telling the truth. If it is stuck at WOT, put 'er in neutral. Sure, the powertrain will be ruined (but maybe not) but it's better than the alternative. Yeah, killing the engine would also kill the power assist for steering and brakes, as well as ABS, but he was on a fairly straight & level highway doing 90+ mph. I doubt losing power assist would have been much of a problem. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35781956/ns/business-autos/ Something sounds fishy. The driver had the presence of mind to call 911 and follow the troopers instructions, but it didn't occur to him to shut off the engine or try to take the car out of gear? Give me a break. Uh, you do realize that 46% of gun show investigations has absolutely no relation to 0.7% of guns used in crimes? Umm - purchase of a gun by a felon IS a crime, chief. In fact, a convicted felon is breaking the law merely by holding any firearm or even a single live round of ammunition...even a .22 rimfire cartridge. I'm probably jumping into the fire by posting, but here goes. The so-called "gunshow loophole" is not limited just to gunshows or linked to them except by way of private sellers. Anti-gunners want gunshows stopped, so instead of calling it a "private sale" loophole, which it is, they call it a "gunshow" loophole. Get gunshows banned first, then go after private sales. All without addressing the underlying problem. Private sellers should have the option of either running a FREE (to be provided by the Feds) background check on a prospective buyer or not. If he opts to run a check, and the buyer is cleared, then the seller should be relieved of all responsibility for what happens after that. If the seller chooses NOT to run a check, then he/she should be held at least partially responsible for anything that happens IF the buyer would have been turned away by a normal check. PA has some really messed up liquer/beer laws. This doesn't come as a surprise even as fucked up of a situation as it is. If all those kegs go skunky i hope they charge the cops with alcohol abuse. My point is, you added a touch of sarcasm to your reply. I agree it wasn't much and he overreacted to it. But then you overreacted to his overreaction.... See what I mean? Holy Shit! It does look like the Gumpster! Sorry, Ketia, no disrespect intended. I just had to check out the thread. When i read the title my first thought was, "What the ??? But there are other types of ergonomic equipment too, so you can't assume anything. For example: Material handling equipment: http://www.bastiansolutions.com/equipment/ergonomic-equipment/default.asp Lab equipment: http://www.nuaire.com/cgi-bin/search/search.pl?q=ergonomic&p=1&lang=en&mode=all etc. You are absolutely correct. Virtually every car and truck made today has undergone extensive ergonomic studies as has anything from iPods and iPhones to ATM's and elevator keypads. That's why I thought it was funny (as in somewhat coincidental) that I suspected correctly. A simple, "What kind of equipment?" minus the sarcasm would have been much more respectful and deserving of a respectful reply. Naw, he's a Physics major. Ask him to build a chicken coop and he'd say "Okay, first of all, let's assume a perfectly spherical chicken." My primary department is Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering. We have a bunch of CNC machines and a rapid prototyping machine. However - I found it at Sears (NAPA didn't have it). Thanks to those who suggested Sears Is there a casting lab on campus? Spit one out on the rapid proto, use it to make a mold, and presto! Of course, Sears was probably much quicker and easier. Probably cheaper too. But not nearly as much fun.

Gun Store's Little League Baseball Sponsorship Denied
Belgian_Draft replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
EXACTLY! The kind of pussy whiners that stomp their feet, throw a temper tantrum and try to make a scene in the press when they don't get their way like this gun store owner. True. He should be closing down freeways and such. Hey, I take it the gun store owner has all he needs to simply eradicate the board of directors. Instead, he peacefully makes it known what happened. Sure, the league has the right to decide what sponsors it wants. The guy has the right to make it known. Funny - the system worked just as I like it. I agree that it is up to the league. Question for the law-educated: If this had been a city run league (public), they had asked for sponsors, he had applied to sponsor a team that would otherwise have gone unsponsored, and the directors refused....would that have been legal? I'm asking because I honestly don't know and could only guess it would not be legal for them to refuse. Agreed. If that's what you do for a living, and you're good at it, you shouldn't be afraid to say so, and say it proudly. That's why it was a bit of a mystery why he initially just used the generic term "equipment", which could mean anything at all. Funny, but I suspected from his first post he was referring to ergonomic office equipment. Could be because I have had the pleasure of using well designed and well crafted equipment HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
