Thanks. They will be offered at skydivecitty in November and Christmas (check the calendar at skydivecity.com). There may also be a load on October if ther is enough interest. B license required.

Come to FL in the winter...22K is normally ~$60 once a month IIRC. ETA: B required. The price for the 23,000' jump from halojumper.com is $150, not $250. Glad to be corrected. I was thinking about doing this in October. For $150, I may do i a couple of times. Good to know the difference. I think that would be worth the price for a special occasion.

Come to FL in the winter...22K is normally ~$60 once a month IIRC. ETA: B required. Gotta get my B (all I need is a canopy course). I was planning on going to FLA his winter... which DZs offer these jumps?

I love the place... but you are right... no heli jumps :(..

Nice. What options did you choose? Swoopcord? Athletic Mesh?

Uh, no we don't chuck Holy crap a SF jumper! Let's not divulge any trade secrets. The 23,000 ft H.A.L.O Skydive for $250.00 on HALOjumper.com seems reasonable. Not that the extra 50 seconds of freefall is worth $125, but just to have that experience for the price of a tandem can justify the cost. But just be prepared to do something on the video. Some of the youtuibe videos just show jumpers hanging out in bellly, not even doing a 360 on HALO jumps from 23k.

I know LS has a great reputation for quality & on time delivery for freefly suits. I don't think I have ever seen an LS RW suit other than here: http://www.liquidskysports.com/relative-work-suits . Does anyone have any experience with them?

I bet Joann K. Salter is being scammed too. She probably accepts the money & most of it to the scammer & keeps a small amount for herself. Then when the stuff hits the fan, she will get in trouble & be responsible. You can try to get a phone # for her & contact her.

That's nonsesne, you can't make a blanket statement like that. Maybe for your coach, 5 is their limit, but that's a personal thing and there are a ton of considerations. Yes it seems like an odd thing to say. In hindsight, I think he may have meant '5 is a good number for you'... but he was trying to be polite. I agree. I think this was a huge factor. It was in the high 70s low 80s on the ground (~32 at altiitude). A nice cool day. I didn't pack once that day. I am in much better shape this year compared to last... ran a couple of 5ks & a 10k earlier in the summer. All good point. Thanks.

Almost 30 min of freefall! Sweet. I didn't pack once the day I did 9.

Thanks for posting this. Alot of scammers prowling the web.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind and be extra vigilant about it.

Thanks.

How many skydives is too many in one day for a novice skydiver? I usually stop when I feel tired. In the past this caused me to stop at 5. Recently I jumped 9 times in one day. I felt fine in the end & felt like I could have jumped more but I had to leave for the day. Think I may have raised some eyebrows by one of the instructors though... although no one told me to stop. In the past one of my coaches did tell me the 5 was a good number for fun jumpers. I really learned alot in that one day... improved my tracking position that I think would have taken longer if I didn't get to jump so many times in a row. Any harm in doing 10... 15... if I feel fine doing it?

The 7 day forecast just is not that accurate. It projected a chance of rain yesterday. I got 4 jumps in. There have been days I have driven to my DZ while it was raining & by the time I got their it was blue skies.

Yes. I have rotator cuff issues. Not specifically skydiving related, but the stress jumping puts on them doesn't help. My doc pulled and twisted and manipulated my are while asking "Does this hurt?" and "How hard can you pull against this without pain?" She used that to decide that there's no tearing and only minor impingement. She said that a MRI was an opition, but she was confident in her diagnosis and didn't think it was necessary. She gave me a set of exercises to build up my shoulder muscles and said that if there wasn't improvement to come back and she would run me through the MRI. The exercises did wonders, and I'm far better than I was before. The exercises are just the basic shoulder rehab stuff. But I would suggest getting a real diagnosis before just grabbing a couple pounds of weight and swinging your arms around. Thanks to everyone who replied. I made 13 jumps in the last 2 days and the shoulder feels fine! I'm still going to sched an appt with a sports med doc, but since the pain, at least temporarily, seems to have subsided I think I am going to try some basic light weight shoulder exercises while I am waiting for my appointment.

Thanx. Will do.

i assumed it was a shot in the dark. Still, I have been noticing the asymmetry in my shoulders & clavicle since the pain started last year.
-
The humerus does appear to pulled forward at rest. The clavicle's position also appears to be somewhat asymmetrical compared to the left side. Do you think the rotator cuff stretching / strengthening exercises would work for this as well?
-
Thanks. I'll look those up.

Shoulder pain seems to be common to skydivers. My right shoulder started to hurt when I began jumping last year & took months to subside. I have only made a few jumps this year & the pain seems to be coming back. The pain is mild & doesn't prevent movements. I have read that strength training seems to help. Does anyone have any specific shoulder exercises that helped them prevent/recover from jumping related shoulder pain?

What are the wings on the camera jackets used for? I assume they make it easier to sitfly & take video but how come nobody else uses them other than camera men? How come they aren't used by Freeflyers, etc.
-
It was functional. The prevailing thought was that bigger jumpsuits gave a jumper an advantage in maneuverability. It let us log more ff time, as well. At the hight of the "wing wars", it let us legally log 73 sec of ff from 12,500'. .... If it really worked, how come spandex is so popular today? Is there a danger in wearing all of that extra material when freeflying?
