You could've just said "embryo" which typically IS aborted unlike a zygote, but you didn't because you apparently weren't familiar with that distinction. . . .and btw, zygotes don't have limbs, so why do you keep bringing it up when that is clearly not what I was talking about?

Which is I think quite telling then that the US government has effectively banned government funding to be used for research into gun violence. While that was the ultimate effect of the Dickey amendment it didn't explicitly state that funding for research was banned. This was clarified in language surrounding the new spending bill signed last year: "While appropriations language prohibits the CDC and other agencies from using appropriated funding to advocate or promote gun control, the Secretary of Health and Human Services has stated the CDC has the authority to conduct research on the causes of gun violence." Democrats recently proposed $50 million for gun crime prevention research starting next year. It better pass.

I never claimed when in the development of a pregnancy are performed. The question I asked was specifically related to doctors aborting a zygote, because you keep bringing it up every time we talk about abortions. If the type of abortions we were actually talking about aren't typically performed during this very brief period, then why do you keep bringing it up?

Yes, they enter through the vagina and exit back out from the vagina. Your trivial nitpicking is rather desperate. Depending on the state they are licensed to practice in, typically when requested to. Pretty much like a lot of medical procedures. When requested to and/or when medically required to. Dude, the zygote period only lasts for several days. Abortions are typically performed much later than that. And you say that I'm the one that doesn't understand female reproduction. I suppose this is all getting a little weird. Could you imagine Wendy and Trigirl arguing about penises and vasectomies?

It's very hard to respond to a vague anecdote like that. All I can say is that we need to trust women. Even if they do things we don't always agree with. You are implying, but not saying, that this woman you know chose to use "late term abortion" , a nebulous term if there ever was one, as birth control. Without details, and without her story from her words, your account means little. Women need to be trusted with their bodies on their terms. Period. Hey man, I'm not the one that called her an idiot.

Agreed. In that way it's similar to the abortion issue. Once people start to meet real women who have had abortions, and realize that they are usually not careless, promiscuous women with no regard for life, they tend to leave the "ban all abortions" group behind. I can agree with that. I will say however that I had a friend very close to me that had 3 late term abortions, and tho I never showed her any contempt, there was a pro-choice woman in this forum that called her an idiot.

Who knew? Anyone who cares to look at the mind numbing everyday carnage that occurs from accidental shootings in the USA. Again and again and again, over and over and over is not incorrect. In what way is it wrong? As I said, by your gorilla math and disregard for the stats/facts, Canada's gun problem is equal to the US gun problem.

Once again. A fetus is NOT a child. If it was then a miscarriage is a death. A fetus has never in the history of the world been a person. No matter what your emotions tell you. It's probably the vacuum that painfully rips apart the human offspring limb by limb from the woman's vagina that many people find troubling.
