Same thing with Ron - I don't remember him ever making a PA even tho he probably got attacked more than anybody on this site, even more than that egg-headed Iranian dude - I can't remember his name. . .

?????? Both you and Joe have a history of letting anger out on these pages. I appreciate that you have found a way to reign that in for quite a while now. But "Joe's bitches?" Now you are getting personal too. Joe makes good posts for the most part and occasionally slips up. Which is something you used to do but seem to have mostly stopped. I think we all get the point now. Maybe it's time for both of you to reflect. I'll reflect too. Fair enough, I'm just showing how quickly shit can go back to the old way if that's what people want.
-
Would "Silly Goose" have passed your muster? I don't believe "sad figure" is an awful thing to say. We are all adults here, right? Well that's not all you've said, is it? Are you too "deluded" to see that? And I find it cute that all your little hypocrite bitches gave you a bunch of rep points for making excuses for your inability to have an adult conversation without making it personal.
-
Really? You have multiple strings of direct personal attacks across several threads, and you have the balls to call other people delusional?

So basically that would mean to stop shopping at practicality every family/locally owned grocer and dollar store for paying their employees the bare ass minimum wage they possibly can and charging the highest prices, and start shopping at Walmart that offers higher wages and lower prices. But let's say that even Walmart's $14-15/hr still isn't enough for stocking and bagging groceries, so we all just stop buying food until those wages go up. That might work out well for Walmart. They'll increases wages and offer even more rollback sales to bring customers back in, but now the pay structure would be so ridiculous that the local/family stores couldn't even compete anymore, so they all close up, and maybe we start seeing a bunch of little Walmart Express shops popping up in their place. They might as well even take over all the gas station-convenience stores while they're at it. Cheap-ass customers that don't want to pay more are typically those that can't afford to pay more. Even tho my cheap ass shops at 5 local family stores looking for the best deals in town, I'm still paying more than I would at Walmart in the next town over. But ya, I'll stop in there every once in awhile when I'm in town, especially when the mom n' pop shops feel like slapping their loyal customers across the face a couple times a year. It was disturbing a few years back when nobody bought their overpriced corn, not even the spoiled rich kids. Two weeks later you could see the minimum wage workers throwing it all in the garbage. Assholes. This is the same place that bought up the competition like 10 years ago or so and just let the building rot until the city finally said that this is a tourist destination and everyone's tired of seeing your abandoned bullshit eyesore right in the middle of town just because you're a bunch of greedy assholes - so either do something with it, or sell it to Roger. Anyway, I just think it's a shitty cop-out to blame the customers and call them cheap, because it's so easy to do: Do you own a computer and use the internet? Then you're part of the problem because those things makes it easier and cheaper to get shit done. Have you ever shopped online or used streaming media services? Then you're destroying brick and mortar! Are you trying to cut back on your consumption, do you have a windmill, use solar panels, drink groundwater, grow your own vegetables, shop at second hand thrift shops and own stuff made in China or Mexico? Then you're just a cheap ass, penny-pinching, job killing son of a bitch! Other people need that money you know!

This: "That's fine with me - at least that way the employees and customers are in control rather than the excessively greedy." You are inconsistent. Walk the walk. I support me getting rich while also supporting fair pay. Good, then you should be happy to know that Walmart starts it's employees at $11/hr with full time workers making an average of $14+/hr - That's just about double the federal minimum and more than what most people make doing other jobs up here with similar qualifications. That is most certainly not the reason I go grocery shopping at Walmart several times a year. I told you why, but like many people, you just make up your own bullshit and believe whatever the hell you want just so you can get all uppity and judgemental with people for no apparent reason. And as for the subsidies, how is that really different than where you prefer to shop, where employees are likely to make less than they do at Walmart?
-
So then what's your point other than to get all churchy about where others shop?
-
Nah, I simply live where I live and they're simply filling a void in the rural market and creating even more business opportunities. And btw, "predatory pay practices?" Really? You might as well just call it human trafficking and get all churchy about my shopping habits.

It's like that episode of Seinfeld when they tried to see how far they could get on an empty gas tank, hahaha.

Now tell the truth, do you shop Amazon? Have you ever bought from Walmart? Ya, and I'll tell you why. I live in a rural summer tourist town, so 10 out of 12 months we're keeping the local businesses alive. It's still a bit more expensive than most places, but it's more difficult/expensive to transport shit up here anyway so it's understandable - no biggie. But come summertime, $3/pints of berries becomes $9/pint, $4/lb hamburger becomes $6-8/lb, 4 for $1 corn becomes 3 for $4 just because a bunch of rich kids decide to piss away their family inheritance every fucking year up here. I can't really blame the businesses for taking advantage of that, but at least give the locals (many of which are elderly/below poverty) a break for keeping your asses afloat in the off season - but like most people they just don't give a shit about anybody else but themselves, so fuck ya I go 20 minutes further to Walmart. And Walmart really isn't that cheap when you think about it. They have cheaper canned food and a cheap line of kitchen utensils and home decor - and that's about it. Their clothes and higher end quality shit is just about the same price as anywhere else, if not more. And their pink slime fresh meat bullshit is just about the most expensive you can find - so It's really no different than a dollar store bringing you in for cheaper hygiene products and then up-selling you with overpriced candy, soda and unnecessary accessories. If you don't like it then go somewhere else, which is what I do. I'll go to 5 different places for the best deals, not because I don't have the money, but out of principle. It just pisses me off when people like my sister spend 8 dollars on 4 sticks of fucking organic butter without looking at the price - that's why it's 8 fucking dollars. I also shop amazon because that's the only fucking place I can get the shit I need to run my own business, so what's your point Joe? Amazon really isn't that much cheaper than most places - they're probably a tad more expensive but can deliver it to you within a day or two for practically nothing - and they've busted their asses to make that a possibility, so they deserve every fucking billion they've earned, and don't forget all the "mom and pop shops" doing business through them as well. This is all really beside the point tho. I no longer have a problem with the minimum wage situation here in Michigan. I posted here several years ago about how unemployment reform due to the automotive crises indirectly gave businesses a financial incentive to give minimum wage employees the least amount of hours possible with sporadic scheduling to make it more difficult to work 2nd jobs to make up the difference. That is no longer an issue given the minimum wage increase to 9.25, which IMO is fair, tho I think 10/hr is doable. If you can't afford to pay your employees 10/hr then you don't deserve to be in business. However, at this point, anything beyond 11/hr is excessive IMO, and I would actively fight against it. Edit - and to my original point, if those at Walmart up here are unhappy with 9.25/hr, there is a business directly behind them willing to pay $12/hr for the same qualifications but for a different job. I'd also suspect that the hotel I was talking about may have to up their pay rates as well to keep up with the competition. Like I said, really good news!
-
It's not always cheap-ass employers. It's also cheap-ass customers not wanting to pay more for quality goods & services. That's fine with me - at least that way the employees and customers are in control rather than the excessively greedy. If nobody wants to pay top dollar for your shit, then it's not worth it, and you shouldn't expect to have excessive margins.
-
While this isn't directly related to anything you've posted specifically, I just want to say that I was staying in a hotel the other day and overheard management talking about how their employees are leaving because they can go to such and such places and get $12/hr - and this is in Michigan, a State that has had more than it's fair share of tough times. It was just a bit surprising considering this was also a rural area and minimum wage had already increased significantly over the past several years from 7.15 to 9.25. It was just good news to hear. I love it when employees are empowered to leave cheap ass employers.

While it's good to be reminded of these incidents, they really are a different issue. None of the security measures outlined in this thread would prevent the Phillykev Effect. A VPN isn't going to prevent you from logging into social media and pissing somebody off. One thing I forgot to add earlier is that you can implement everything we've suggested, but if you're logged into your google account and using chrome or a google search engine, then they're still tracking your activity across various sites and adding details to your digital footprint. This is an even bigger issue with smartphones where you're basically required to be logged in - and it doesn't really matter if you turn off the location/gps - they'll just connect the dots using wifi/cell tower data, various info from other apps you've trusted and even info from other phones within proximity. At the end of the day tho, I try not to get to paranoid about it all because I see the positive life changing potential, but we still have a long way to go.

In the meantime you can still take action against known vulnerabilities: - Block WebRTC IP Detection or Disable WebRTC altogether - Convert HTTP websites to secure HTTPS websites with HTTPS Everywhere - Disable DNS prefetching/network prediction - Disable cross-site tracking - Use web fingerprinting protection - Disable website referrer - Disable hyperlink Auditing - Remove UTM Parameters Note - Some websites don't like some of these precautions such as fingerprint protection, but it's not typically an issue. But still, you may have to temporarily forgo some of these precautions for online banking and similar activities where institutions need to verify who you really are. Also, if manually handling all of these tasks seems a bit overwhelming, some VPN providers allow you to manage all these settings within one app so you can easily disable/enable when needed.

Don't pander to the Dems on this site. Stop feeling guilty for being Conservative. While your inability to see the liberals is just as staggering. Nah, unlike Trump they at least look around first to make sure no one's watching.

Meh, where are the tanks?

I was watching Little House on the Prairie awhile ago and the following quote really resonated with me: Charles Ingalls: "Half-pint (Laura Ingalls), if you don't stand up to people... bigots... then you're no better than they are. Worse, in fact, because you know that it's wrong and you allow them to think that you feel the same way they do." It really is a great show with quality content that's still relevant today, especially wrt to social issues and religion.
-
Which definition of “socialist” are you using? The funny sarcastic one. Is that OK with you John?
-
I must have missed those benefits in our company's benefits (or any benefits I have seen, really.) Which benefits would those be? Damn, I can't find it in mine either. What is this world comming to, no more women and children first?!?!
-
Just slip some $1 bills into their thong uniforms. That's fine, but they should be informed that by accepting equal or higher pay, they would no longer qualify for the "women and children first" benefits.
-
Dude, how can you not be familiar with this technique? You act like you never played sports, were in the military, or had a father.
-
Just tell him to disable your flag in the account settings if he doesn't want to see it. I think it's safe to say that you & I are on opposite sides of the spectrum most of the time. You have the fucking right to express your opinion about anything; anytime. Tell them to piss off. They don't have those freedoms in socialist countries, duh.

1. I honestly don't see Turtle as being a Trump supporter. 2. Asking when the trial was is a legitimate question, even if asked in a sarcastic way. 3. How can you expect Trump supporters to take seriously the rape allegation in question if even the liberal MSM couldn't take it seriously? 4. We're all effectively guilty of not caring and ignoring the allegations if all we do is bitch about it ad nauseam and fail to hold this guy accountable for once in his fucking life. 5. If Trump resigned, would most people really care anymore, or would they just move on with their lives and forget about justice for his alleged victims?
-
Fun fact - that wasn't in the script. TLJ made it up. Fun Fact - Harrison Ford was proclaiming his innocence, and TLJ replied, "I don't care!" So it doesn't really work the way Jerry intended, does it?
-
My mind is made up. Neither Trump nor Clinton should be in the White House, effective immediately. I knew someone was going to say something like that. The relevant part in that second link is the paragraph about Katie Johnson/Jane Doe which is what we're talking about, not Clinton.
