  1. Time for a new rigger. why not get both sides of the story first? It sounds like skyflower showed up and expected a full briefing on how the rig works, right then and there. Is it possible that her rigger wasn't planning on packing the second she got there ? Is it possible that the OP could be extremely annoying (she admitted to it herself), and as such the rigger didn't want to turn their A-I-R into a mini rigging seminar ? you know that old sign "Rates : $45 an hour, $65 if you watch, $90 if you help"
  2. ya know, he is a dz.com member... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?username=jerry9461;
  3. the DOM in the PIA doc indicates the DOM of the canopy that was tested. The doc shows 495 cu inches for the spectra lines 1994 PD210. doesn't really matter if it doesn't fit into the rig that you bought :(
  4. I highly recommend Pete Swan http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?username=PeteS;
  5. it will show up nice. here's a silver canopy with red crossbraces. It's the closest I can find :)
  6. I agree 100%. BSBD/Memory of - for skydivers, or at the very least people in the industry (some Jump Pilots may not have ever made a skydive, but are certainly part of the community).
  7. not to worry, it's now for sale on the classifieds here http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/detail_page.cgi?ID=103857&d=1 looks like a AZ local snatched it :)
  8. I was just wondering about him... He changed his username and his attitude. But he is still very much here. He is just much more pleasant :)
  9. the I44 is designed for a 170 ZP. According to PD the Pulse 190 packs half a size smaller than a Sabre170, and the same size as a Spectre 170 re : http://www.performancedesigns.com/packingchart.asp so based on that, and my experience with a new Saber2-170 in an I-44 I guess it should be no problem :)
  10. Those came on Infinity risers and looked like they were done at the factory. I no longer have the rig, but I remember that there was a stiffener in the top half. If this info and the factory don't help, I can get you in touch with the new owner. blue skies !
  11. Just to be clear - are you proposing that Senior riggers loose the legal ability to assemble ? the OP was wondering about what specific things do YOU think should be up to Master and up to Senior ticket holders ?
  12. Don Mayer http://www.parachuteshop.com/Used_pilot_parachutes_aerobat.htm Allen Silver http://www.silverparachutes.com/used_equip.html and I strongly recommend posting a Wanted ad in the classifieds.
  13. as it has been pointed out, the Sabre was an early ZP canopy. As such the original placard was just on an F111 canopy - weight limited to 1:1 WL. alter on, the Sabres got a new placard, which in the case of the 190 said : Advanced : 209lbs, Expert 219lbs, Max Wt 249 lbs. so no, I don't think you are going past what the manufacturer recommendations. I do think that you would have been safer to keep your wingloading closer to 1:1 ... I am attaching a copy of a label.
  14. Silhouette will have a slightly longer flare both are AWESOME canopies. also Silhouette will pack a bit easier due to being a hybrid. My bet is that you won't be disappointed with either.
  15. why not try to plug the card into another CX100 ? If the data is not corrupt, assuming the problem is just a proprietary file system, the resulting video should be worth the work. I guess I am also assuming the card is not locked to the specific camera :) here are a few pics of the canopy involved
  16. AAD depreciation is fairly linear, so if you got a budget, buying used is fine. The problem is the good old supply and demand - everyone wants to save a buck, so used AADs are hard to come by. some good reading : http://www.chutingstar.com/expertadvice_en/buying-gear/18-aads-which-one-to-buy.html and as usual I encourage you to use the search function and try to be less helpless and more proactive about educating yourself w/o needing to be spoon-fed.
  17. nope ya shure don't want the dynamic corners, cuz they don't lie when they say "open" Love my jav but thats one thing I wish I had never got, do you mean I don't want an open seam at the bottom corners or that I dont want the 90deg inserts that help the bag clear the container while in WS flight ? I have them in all my BASE rigs, and they have never been a problem. having videod my WS deployments with freepacked BASE canopies and d-bagged skydiving canopies I see where I can benefit from dynamic corners. Please explain/post pics. tnx
  18. I own two Javelins. I would want open corners for WS, spacer foam, and a pocket on the legpads for storing stuff, like shorts for naked jumps. of course everything but hte spacer foam is my winter project :)
  19. whoever I bought it from in June 2007. I am surprised only 2 people commented on that :)
  20. How much better is it than a Reflex or Teardrop ?
  21. not sure about Chinese, but it seems the Czech have done a good job http://www.marsjev.cz/products/sport-parachutes/n-1.html?lang=en
  22. pictured is a 1993 Racer NOS pud. it's stowage method is fairly flimsy, and can easy work it's way out by just moving around when sitting on the floor, so one can easily exit with a lost pud, let alone suffer one from combat RW :)
  23. you could probably get about 1200-1300 for it, alot of people think their gear is worth retail(similar to your condition) and ask for 1500-1800 spot on mr. petejones45, I concurr
  24. contact L&B http://www.l-and-b.dk/contact.html Their customer service is very, VERY customer friendly. And their products ROCK !
