    I second the motion. By trying out your idea here first, you can work out the kinks in it before you go public in a journal where you'll get ripped to shreds if there are problems with your idea. Of course, you'll also get ripped to shreds here, but better here in an internet forum, than to embarrass yourself in a professional technical journal.

    Yes that's the simple way but government will miss the chance to tax the electric cars. A couple years of more aggressive patdowns by the TSA, going into say little league games, starbucks, etc. The public will not care about the mileage tracking.

    Yes, I remember the government workers on the news saying they couldn't buy Christmas presents, boo-hoo. Whenever the government has shutdown in the past the workers end up getting their pay.     Some points: 1. Those formulas are for standard laspe rates. very seldom are things standard. Current temp here his about 61 Mobile winds aloft forecast says 35 at 12,000. Not standard lapse rate. 2. Wind chill effect does not increase directly proportionally as the wind speed increases. 3. Air is less dense at 13.5K so wind chill effect would be less than same conditions on the ground. There is no wind chill in space.
