  1. Anybody know what kind of plane? http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/weird/FAA-Investigates-Skydiving-Sex-Stunt--131818208.html
  2. Yep, I broke three matacarpals(sp) ring, middle , index left hand first AFF jump. Late flare, hand down to side, kind of landed like a tandem on my butt. Left hand caught some rough ground and bent hand back on altimeter. Cast for about six weeks and I jumped at eight weeks. Hand and wrist were weak and not really back to normal for about 4 more weeks. Heal soon.

  5. With about two more gallons he could have made it. 13 miles/180 kts = .0722 hrs x 26 gals per hr = 1.88 gals. These are not exact of course, but a good guess.
  6. Very nice water landing. 6Ps- Proper planning prevents piss poor performance. http://www.cnn.com/2011/10/08/us/hawaii-plane-emergency/index.html?hpt=us_c2
  7. Just google "density altitude' an you will find definition and graphs.
  8. Which is the VAST majority of the CONUS airspace. There's very little uncontrolled airspace above 800 ft. Sounds like a $100 per flight skydiving tax. Nonsense. User fees have been talked about for decades. Typical jump operations won't be significantly affected. I would like to keep the camel's nose out of the tent. That is simple.. stay out of the Middle East.. and the Australian desert... problem solved. Oh and that works on MANY MANY levels... for the clueless out there My tent, your nose.

  10. How many billions did you guys waste in Iraq again??? Blackwater... and many other war profiteers who were friends of the Administration did very very well at transferring our tax money into their pockets when their very well placed friendships in Halliburton and hunderds of others took us on that TRILLION dollar RIDE thru the deserts. Your guys were in on it too.
  11. You will need a permit. Restroom facilities are to be on site. Rats and other ugly animals must be served also. On the table and not under it. Do you accept EBT cards?
  12. I copied the referenced pages. More equitably share payments for air traffic services. Roughly two-thirds of the air traffic control system’s current costs are financed by aviation excise taxes. Most of the tax revenue is collected from commercial aviation through ticket taxes, segment fees, international head taxes, and fuel taxes. General aviation users currently pay a fuel tax, but this revenue does not cover their fair-share-use of air traffic services. All flights that use controlled air space require a similar level of air traffic services. However, commercial and general aviation can pay very different aviation fees for those same air traffic services. For exMANDATORY SAVINGS 23 ample, a large commercial aircraft would pay between $1,300 to $2,000 in taxes for a flight from Los Angles to San Francisco while a corporate jet flying the same route and using the same Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) air traffic services would pay about $60 in taxes. To reduce the deficit and more equitably share the cost of air traffic services across the aviation user community, the Administration proposes to establish a new mandatory surcharge for air traffic services. This proposal would create a $100 per flight fee, payable to the FAA, by aviation operators who fly in controlled airspace. Military aircraft, public aircraft, recreational piston aircraft, air ambulances, aircraft operating outside of controlled airspace, and Canada-to-Canada flights would be exempted. The revenues generated by the surcharge would be deposited into the Airport and Airway Trust Fund. This fee would generate an estimated $11 billion over 10 years. Assuming the enactment of the fee, total charges collected from aviation users would finance roughly three fourths of airport investments and air traffic control system costs.
  13. I'm sure earthquake predictions will increase now. But there may not be any scientists to predict them. http://www.myfoxny.com/dpp/news/international/italian-scientists-go-on-trial-for-failing-to-predict-earthquake-20110920-ncx
  14. Damn, I only he had invested into solar panel manufacturing and sucked 450 Million from the federal family; then went bust and laid off 1,100 employees. He would not be so insensitive and hurt peoples' feelings.
  15. p.s. - 'member when a lineover was a "Mae West"? Yeah, boobies! Now that was a name for a mallie. Too sexist to use that term now, and lineovers on modern squares don't look too much like Mae West.
