  1. So how many have you had? Based on that, how do you know when to pull? When her pants come off you can stop jerkin' it! Oh I'm sorry that when not to pull...
  2. That wasn't premature. That was my standard 2-3 seconds. I just forgat that I was at 1200'.
  3. "When I get scared" Hell, I'm always scared. If that was my criteria I'd be pulling on the hike up or standing on the edge. You'd be calling me Mr. Premature Pilotchute Inflation or something like that.
  4. Thanks everyone! He and Rebecca, she was the pregnant woman who was with me at the Turkey Boogie, are doing great. Here's a picture we shot in the hospital.
  5. Ayden Zane Felber was born 4/3/06. I can't wait 'til his 5th b-day so I can take him off the bridge!!!
  6. I was told you and magot were doing a naked Mr. Bill for your first jump off a single story building into a swimming pool filled with marshmellow cream...

    skydive mag

I only stopped to watch the drama and see if those guys could actually save your puppet lookin' a$$. I had time to ponder how the hell you got yourself into that situation and to watch spectator after spectator get close enough to the edge without rigs on that I was sure their rescue would be much easier and far less urgent issue. It was just a mistake so give magot some slack. Magot bragging about his mstake effects me not!
  8. How about ten times in a week!!! When you guys going to be back around these parts? That was two of the scariest jumps I've done.
  9. Hey, you're going to have to PM me on that cause I don't have a clue what you're talking about...

    Cliff jump video

What was the thread regarding the skier who went off the cliff without a parachute???
  11. I was looking at an Ansel Adams Pic today and was wondering who's jumped these US marvils??? ---edited to add--- Sorry, not who, how many???
  12. Going the weekend of the the 14th, any one else going to be around???
  13. I've done it many times from different altitudes and different delays. I've experienced no adverse effecs using my Flik293 or my Nitro135. I've used a D-bag each time though. When I mentioned doing it slider-off, several people were quite amused. ---edited to add-- From 400', no d-bag, no-slider, and a 2-3 second delay I would think you would be clear of turbulent air. At 2-3 sec delay you would be 100-200 ft below the copter...
  14. I just took some visitors out there last week...I think it's a great jump, although I wouldn't swim accross...But what do I know, I'm just a youngster...
  15. Hey! I don't see any locals in those pictures...

    Fatality in the UK

Good point Tree...I was watching a friend pack the other day and he was using a black bungie, with black lines, wrapped around his lines to keep the lines together. I told him you miss it once and you'll never miss it again. I used a pullup a couple of times for the same task and decided it wasn't worth the risk! Even clamps can be forgotten. Doctors do it frequently...count your tools and then count them again... If your going to field pack your rig, for any reason, put your PC inside the container. Then there is no way you'll accidentally jump that rig. It has happened.
  17. 40, just had my 1 yr anniversary!
  18. When I took Tom's course there was a guy from the UK and a girl from Israel, myself and two others from the US.
  19. I know your not letting ANYBODY into your program, but are you considering candidates with zero skydives? No criticism intended just wondering... I will always be a advocate of your course. I think you offer a thorough course and touch on several aspects about BASE other than the jump itself. The approach is methodical and allows the student to get to the edge gradually rather than being overwhelmed standing at the exit point. My first jump off the bridge, I was confident in my actions and the fear was in the back of my head rather than staring me in the face. I was more unsure of that first jump out of the tree than I was of the first jump off the bridge.
  20. This seems a lot harder to get in than it was for me way back when. Has the demand risen that much? I also don't see a jump # requirement, are you really letting anybody do your course now Tom? Is that the reason for the increased demand? Feel free to PM me on this.
  21. You? Static-Line? I simply can't believe it! Has someone kidnapped Greeny and now trying to infiltrate the Base Board???
  22. Ray, I cannot understand what you are trying to say! And it sounds like it might be some useful info... ---edited to add--- Your last post was much clearer, thank you!
  23. 30 jumps (inexperienced) No strikes, no near strikes, I may never have a strike and then again it is definitely a possibility. I would prefer not to have one!
  24. Thanks for the info Tom. That was my plan and my concern. I don't think I will make it to TF before my next trip to Moab and was wondering if there were any other somewhat safe testing methods. BTW, I am jumping a vented Flik 293 so the note about the vented characteristics is appreciated. How much distance do people usually have between their Normal and deep settings? On vented Fliks?
