  1. So friggin what? I get 30 paid days of leave per year, and if I get sick and am out of work it doesn't count against my leave days. Plus I dont have to pay for my healthcare, dental, housing, or food. Plus if I move to a state like AK where the cost of living is signifigantly higher my company pays me more money just for living there. I also work a 40hr week (most of the time), unless one of my co-workers decides to let me leave early to go skydiving or something. Beat that. Muff #5048
  2. So you mean to tell me that there ISN'T a guy named Haywood Jablomy? Muff #5048
  3. Wow! Your lazy ass expect some liability for a fast $5 packjob? Dream on! Ive heard many a packer say "you pay for the packjob not the opening", which is why I will nearly always pack my own rig. Muff #5048
  4. Just use those red SOLO plastic cups you see at keg parties. Or you could invest in a few 1L german beer mugs. Those damn things seem indestructable and they will hold an entire bottle of wine plus some. Muff #5048
  5. Nope. Numbers are just that...numbers. I'm just one of those crazy people who ABSOLUTELY must know how everything works and why. Muff #5048
  6. For us it usually starts around 2:00 and last until about 8:00ish. Everyone sits down to eat and eats what they want then people go do whatever and just keep grazing until they feel like going home. Muff #5048
  7. Ah. Makes sense now. Thanks all. Edit: I wasnt sure if aircraft weight included the actuall wings themselves (not the fuel in them mind you). Now I know. Muff #5048
  8. You add all gear you have on at the time of the jump in to the equation.( Helmet. rig and everything that goes with the rig , cameras ect.) What ever is going to be hanging from that said canopy in the air is part of the wing loading Right. But is that wing itself part of its own loading?...Now my heads staring to hurt. Muff #5048
  9. I was trying to understand why someone would say that you wouldn't and thought maybe since it supports the weight of the jumper (in an oppisite direction) then that might be why, but I truely dont know that much about the physical aspect of canopy flight. Muff #5048
  10. When figuring out ones WL do you add the weight the main canopy into the equasion or not? Ive talked to 2 different experienced jumpers (both over 5000+ jumps) about this. One said you add the wieght of the main (about 7lbs in my case) and the other said you dont. Any thoughts? Muff #5048
  11. My fav's Firehouse. LOVE the hot sauces. I heard they did away with the really hot sauces. My favorite was Mad Dog 357, but my brother tells me they dont have it anymore. Muff #5048
  12. "Yup. He ain't gonna make it out of the corner." Muff #5048
  13. I would say it really depends on where you are. I dont usually carry my Glock around, but if I'm going on a road trip then I'll stash it in the car for safety purposes. Generally though I try to avoid areas where I would deem it neccesary to have a gun on my person at all times. That help? Muff #5048
  14. You will be fine. Ive done it several times and never had to unpack it or show them an AAD card. Just remember to be polite and patient and they shouldnt give you shit about it. Muff #5048
  15. Well if you really want to keep it in the condition its in right now you could always cover it (inside and out not missing any parts) with cosmoline, put it in an air tight plastic bag, then put it away for a good long while. >>Disclaimer
  16. Don't go to bed with an itchy asshole or you'll wake up with a stinky finger. Muff #5048
  17. Why a bushy? Flexibility in a unique package. AR's are just too common. Blues, Dave I get that, but why not a Rock River, DPMS, etc..? Ive found that they shoot just as well, are just as flexible, and are usually a bit cheaper than the Bushmaster. Honestly, I believe the reason bushmasters cost so much is because people THINK they are top of the line and either havent heard of the other brands out there or just dont know any better. But, to each his own.
  18. Sounds like you're supplying a quality long range rifle, instead of one of those inaccurate Commie stamped sheet metal junkers. In a real world scenario I'll take my "Commie stamped sheet metal junker" AK which is a reliable zombie-killer/wounder out to 300+ yards and my extra five 30-rd magazines in my sneaky bag. I'm v-e-r-y mobile. You long-rangers can freeze in your ghili suits on the hill as the designated marksmen while the warriors shlep our "peasant rifles" into the fight. Oh, and the poodle shooters (ARs) can take all the prairie dogs they want. I take it you haven't bothered to check the ballistics of the .223 round have you (and I'm not talking about that military ball ammo crap either)? Have you seen what a Winchester .223 45 grain JHP will do to a mans shoulder? It damn sure aint pretty. Muff #5048
  19. To hell with politics. It is comments like these that make me proud to be not only a US Airman but an American as a whole. It shows that there is still tons of support for all those who serve and who have served. I would also like to thank all who serve and those who served before my time giving me the opportunity to do so. Muff #5048
  20. First of all, as mentioned above, for the amount of work done and the level of education of most military members, they are underpaid. I know some Lt Cols with their PHD making just over $60K a year base pay. Second, a "usual worker" doesn't risk getting deployed to a location where his life is at risk every day. Just got a briefing from an Air Force logistics officer (typically non-combative job) who got shot in the leg because the driver of his convoy took a wrong turn in Baghdad. So most companies appreciate the fact that military members are willing to risk their lives so citizens of the US can be guaranteed their freedom. They're just doing a good deed! This sounds good to me except the wages. $60k is twice what a equivalent military in France can get a year. It looks to be more a respect of what they give to your country. Holy crap! France has a military? Anyway, I'm pretty sure that Wings offers a 50% discount on their containers to mil members. At least thats what it was last time I was in Z-Hills and asked a rep. Muff #5048
  21. I know. Thats where I usually go to get a good laugh now and then. If they aren't talking about gay butt-secks loving people wanting to get married, then they go on and on about why who you're voting for is evil and wrong. It can be quite commical to watch. Muff #5048
  22. Don't do to the SC often do you? Muff #5048
  23. Hell, I was hoping that thread would at least last until lunch. Muff #5048
