East Coast trouble makers - Skydive Cape Cod
Krip replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi SS I always read the comments following the news reports. Sounds positive to me. It sounds like the DZ is trying, The screaming yelling and cussing in the air from the tandems (if true) can be taken care of. IMO just another whining NIMBY's. R. -
List of Jumpers I Should Have Heard of...?
Krip replied to Namowal's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi Duck Jay Stokes (most jumps) Cheryle Sterns (World syle and accracy champ) many times over. FWIW Anyone know the names of the pioneers from over there, french russians, etc. -
Hi Steve Thanks for the update

Glad you brought this up, as this was my take on it. My reccomenadation would be to go to HK, not tell her your going but also dont tell people to not tell her. Plan you trip and go enjoy yourself, deal with the mother issue as it arises, DONT take your mom with you. I understand the level of familial respect involved in Asian families, but it does have to go both ways. Dont be disrespectful towards her, just dont tell her. +1 R.

and a Crane atop a 66 floor building is looking like collapsing completely The angle of the dangle isn't looking good The video on CNN shows the hanging boom twisting in the wind. I suspect thats going to be the part to go. R.

Hi L Thanks I needed that. You can't make stuff like this up. I'm guessing her husband just gave up trying to explain. R.

Hi About 5 yr's before the rear window blew out in your . We were jumping a spare cessna without a door We were sitting in the back and Poof The damn window Iwas sitting next to shattered We did get to jump and I even offered to pay for the window. The pilot declined

Except Cost to much $$$$$ Why could that extra cost not be passed onto the "special needs" passenger? If done properly the extra costs for the time required could be negated versus a "normal" passenger. Factories gain their efficiencies and maintain quality by using identical parts.

Hi Damn tires don't last forever I've been keeping a eye on my set and their getting close to replacement time.A new set of tires will outlast my car Will start to lurk the new tire Take off shop's, to check the prices. Some peeps take off the OEM tires for those looking low profile tires. I know buyer beware, google etc etc, If it's to much trouble we'll buy new . R.

Heh, we just got a new flatscreen at work (only 42" or so though, sheesh) but the yellow sticker on the front said it had an estimated yearly operating cost of... $9! Nine bucks to rot my brain for a YEAR? Yes, please! Elvisio "the opiate of the masses is getting cheaper and cheaper" Rodriguez yeah i have a 60" Plasma, and 30 solar panels on the roof for free power so I don't give a toss about inefficiency Um yeah... Solar panels actually work where you are at in that freakin desert... but when the BIG TREES shade your home.. or the sky dumps 2+ foot of snow on the roof... not so much. My plasma on the wall just sucked up electicity ... and you could FEEL the amount of heat as you walked past it.. the LED.. nice and cool.. less AC to cool the place down.

Hi Jerry I thought the guy in the pic was the inventor of the low rider pants style for the boys in the hood. A man way ahead of his time When the home boys try and run from the Po po and their pants are falling down around their ankles. R.

Hi I've got this OLD thing going on. So my priorities are a little different. I just tell the boss of 40 yr's I love her

Yeah, in fact it gluts the market with a lot of used gear. Hi John But there's always a new guy who wants to downsize and is looking for a good deal on a smaller canopy. Rcyclying works R. One Jump Wonder

Thanks to DZ.com I found out about utube

Sounds adequate R. One Jump Wonder

Exactly. Although living in the PNW and working 4-5 days a week and having a family, I'm happy if I get 200 jumps a year. After I retire I hope to do a steady 400+ a year though. Hi John The stats are what they are. But they often don't tell the whole story. I'm guessing that the car insurance premiums for your packing machine ( son) is a lot higher than for your daughters. I don't remember why but for some reason males under the age of 25 pay high insurance premiums. Since we're retired we don't drive on wkends, rush hr, friday, Sat nights (bar thirty)etc etc.. Of course shit still happens, but at least we can minimize the risk by choosing when we drive and have lots of underinsured motorist coverage. R.

Drop zone with Pole Dancing facility
Krip replied to verticalflyer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Only in Holland... I'm sure the dropzones in Poland have lots of Poles in them. -
Hi Jim Yikes Have a happy B-day While you can still remember them R.

Hi BD Read the incident reports on DZ.com. The trend for the lat 15 yr's is most jumpers jumpers hurting themselves because they can't land a perfectly good parachute. The incident reports are a little misleading since no one is keeping track of the jumpers that are ending up being permently maimed for the same reason A canopy course can't fix stupid R.

There is no 12" version. If you fold it in half there is. One Jump Wonder

Wow. I wish our competition would adopt those rules. Some people are confusing Physical test with a Fiscal test. At some DZ's if you got the $$$$ you passed the test. Might be a good question for peeps running for USPA office.

Interesting stories a lot of us used the military to get out of the hood & away from challenging situations. We lucked out and made it. College degree with minimal debt Even without the draft in the same situation I would do it again. For me myself and I. No Hero stuff here. R.

Hi Chris My father in law jumped out of one over italy. When he was a teanager He Didn't talk about it much . Except when it's time to go you gotta go. I think he saved his nylon chute and had a nice italin lady take it apart dye some of the thread s and make it into a bedspred. Thats the story and y boss is lurking it after her mom joins her dad. Didn't think to ask My inlaw where he exited from. R.
