Oh yeah, forgot about that one. The russian at perris? How soon we forget. Cars left at the DZ could mean a lot of things It wasn't until his travel buddies that he was supposeed to meet at another DZ (maybe eloy) called Perris and then the folks at perris checked the car and found the jumpers passport etc. The russian did have a backup to bad they weren't at the same DZ. Why try and reinvent the wheel every time there's the same we should already know what to do to protect ourselve's. Isn't that what the incident reports are for? I hear lots of people saying the DZ is to busy , How many of you are not employed in the industry (CYA) or jump with a clique One Jump Wonder

Since your new and a nice lady I'll let you into well known DZ secrete. Women don't have to tip male instructors, just give them a shy smile of gratitude . Trust me you will be remembered in a good way. One Jump Wonder

We had a field like that at our old DZ's location about a mile north. Big open building lot with one power line going to the mobile home. Bit more than one jumper. We used to specifically talk about that "out" in DZ briefings. Hi John Had the same problem landing on a road once. The mainline and transformer was on one side of the road the feeder into the well house cut actoss the road. One Jump Wonder

Lots of bells and whistles: to find the bad guys in the dark etc. We're located minute away from the port of tacoma. Gotta keep the commies Oops me bad terrorists away. http://www.thenewstribune.com/2012/12/17/2405419/new-police-airplane-on-its-way.html One Jump Wonder

Hi Abedy Here's the link to thewood burning regulations in our area http://www.pscleanair.org/actions/woodstoves/certifiedws.aspx Firewood isn't free, even if you harvest your own it can be labor intensive and expensive unless you like you like using a axe. Check out utube for info on firewood. If your in good shape it can be a good business to get into as long as you have access to the tree's. We were talking with a lady who's husband is a logger is upstate New York. He's getting $50/cord split and delivered. In this area its $200-$300 a cord We got all the tools the problem is finding the downed tree's in a reasonable driving distance. More demand than supply One Jump Wonder

There's lots of variables that can age a canopy besides # of jumps. In the PNW we never packed indoors, just under a nice tree in the shade, and flat packed it as soon as we landed on our carpet. Jumping in Houston in the summer in houston packing inside is probably a good idea due to the heat not the UV. Another thing that will age a canopy before its time is leaving it unpacked in the sun while you take a lunch break Or leaving your rig in your car trunk for extended periods of time. IMO you can tell a lot about a canopy by knowing the jumper your buying from and looking and feeling the canopy material. We saw a canopy at the LP boogie that had a split thru the top of canopy's center cell. The nice lady said the dude that sold it to her told it it only had 500 jumps. I'm not a rigger but we went for a lookie and we could tell from 10 ft away that the canopy was ragged out. It either had a mass qty of jumps on it or was used as a car cover. The fabric looked very dull and it felt paper thin. Buying a used canopy is like buying a used car. Have a rigger you trust check it out they can perform a objective tensil test on the material. Wanna buy a 10 yr old car with 500 miles on it that was driven to church by a little old lady every xmas. Don't be afraid of buying used gear just be carefull what you buying. One Jump Wonder

I am not suprised. When a parachute is packed inside of a rig enclosed by cordura, it tends to stay put....And of stored properly should last a LONG time with no problems. Hi Neon In a ideal world your rig sould only stay packed for 5 days because your jumping every weekend

Pssssst... we don't all talk like that. Well there are more who speak like Daisy and Mrs Patmore or even worse than those who are as well spoken as the Crawleys. Hi AJ Daisy and Mrs Patmore work downstairs and don't really count The properl Brits upstairs have their own issues In the US we have our own dialects The women from the south sound sexy, the women from the New york area are a immediate turn off. Even over the telephone When the beetles first hit the states (especially ringo) They had out standing accent.
