  1. That's hard to argue. I'm no politician. And yet you expect sympathy. The dude has my sympathy. The punishment (being banned from jumping at 99% of the DZ's in the US for life) doesn't fit the crime (being a PIA). Hopefully this isn't a backdoor payback by USPA for testifying as a expert witness, as some folks suggest. FWIW since I'm not jumping anymore after careful consideration I decided a couple yrs ago not to renew my USPA membership. If USPA needs to ban someone ban me and reinstate this guy. One Jump Wonder

If this is payback for something else like TK & others suggest . FWIW I 'm not jumping anymore and so don't have to be a USPA member. One Jump Wonder
  3. +1 Just have to find a effective way to manage the known threat. Bandana and helmet. or some kind of a skull cap & helmet. One Jump Wonder
  4. I disagree. I think there can be a balance between being a greedy fuck and a company that's giving away for farm. Some of the pay disparity in some companies can ONLY be described as "greedy fuck" no matter how you slice it. When you couple that with also running other companies out of business, well, then the head of the company isn't just a greedy fuck, but is also doing a disservice to others. I think Walmart as a whole fits that category. Microsoft One Jump Wonder

  6. And would the "right to carry" laws make you think twice about committing the robbery at all? Hi J&V Only in certain states with the right stuff ......... Like Texas One Jump Wonder
  7. The Washington State (duh, surely not D.C.) CPL is a flimsy piece of paper with no pic, just a thumbprint. I would much prefer something sturdier and with a picture, like a driver's license format. Hi J&V Tell us the truth John you just like looking at pics of yourself FWIW I went swiming with my Wa state CPL at LP a couple of years ago That flimsy piece of paper is still in one piece and I'll be finding out in a couple of weeks if it still works. OTOH a pic on my CPL wouldn't work if I ever had a facial hair displant. R.I.P.
  8. I feel like I jusst walked in on the middle of a movie I know "what" from the tittle
  9. His mental stability. After so many issues, somewhere along the line he should have been mentally disqualified. I tend to agree with you, Paul, but I can't quite figure out at which point he should have been "mentally disqualified." There was the tray-throwing, which got him discharged from the military but didn't seem to include a conviction. And then there was an alleged assault, which also apparently had no conviction, but it did lead to a protection from abuse order, which he then violated. I lean towards thinking that the point where he violated the protection from abuse order being the point where he should have had his rights to firearm possession taken away. Is that what you're thinking? Or are you thinking that he should have had them taken away before that? The military took the easy way out with the DD without the redflag that he was violent/nuts. The local courts failed when he beat on his girlfriend and didn't take his toys away. Wasn't there a guy who used to post on DZ.com who got into a domestic violence issue with his exotic dancing girlfriend maybe philly kiev who lost his guns for at least month's. The nutters family failed the guy and the dead cops by ignoring the warning signs. the nutter was out of control for a long time and his mommy finally calls the cops because his dog pissed in the house. Nice job Marines, Local court system, Mom. You all screwed up there are three cops dead and we have to respond to this mess in a reactive way rather than proactive/ Our mental health system is a faliure and will continue to be so until people stop taking the easy way out and get the nuttters some help. 10. The way I read the story Mom is pissed off because sons dog pissed in her house (again) and calls 911. Son gets pissed at mom for calling cops , Gets his guns, body armour and waits to ambush the cops when they show up, Why didn't Mom call 911 and warn the cops they were walkingi nto a trap. Or did mom call Another waste of human life, because people expect other people to solve their personnel problems. One Jump Wonder
  11. A bad man with a gun used it to take lives. Good men with guns arrived, ending the shooting spree, saving lives. What should you conclude from this? That we should do a far better job of ensuring that only good men get guns. I may be mistaken but I don't think that New york state has liberal gun laws It will be interesting to see how the nutter gained access to the guns he used in his senseless act of madness. During the great depression there were reports of people killing themselves by jumping off of buildings. Now due to the current economic situation people seem to be wanting to kill themselves and take others with them. IMO there's a hole in our mental health care system. Are the sueciide hot lines being shut down? One Jump Wonder
  12. I'll give odds it was probably the latter. Everyone has neighbors I know what to expect from my neighbors, all my dogs are registered. The county has a computer data base of registered dogs and address's. One Jump Wonder
  13. Hi Spence Of course you know thats $49 for this year. Next year due to "increased costs and declining membership" annual dues could go up or they could go down. OTOH Lodi
  14. Doesn't seem to apply to bridges however. Most toll bridges that I've driven on are state owned and maintained. Most toll roads that I've driven on are privately owned and maintained (generally by for-profit entities). I'd be curious to see what a private, for-profit toll bridge would end up looking like. I don't believe I've ever been on one. WE almost got one in Wa state. The new tacoma narrows bridge. After the dust settled the State decided to use their own bonds to pay for the bridge and collect tolls to retire the bonds. The bbridge design/construction would have been the same either way, with the contractor option hw would have had more input on the tolls charged and duration. FWIW the state decided to contract out the toll collection duties, due to under estimating the amount of bridge users that would use auto pay the toll collection company got a very good deal. Wa State will be replacing some other bridges so contractor financed projects are still on the table. The contractor like to help us out constructing our infra struture and reduce our bonding debt. Win Win for them
  15. Since you asked Forget about DZ A. No hard feelings, Time to move on.
  16. Quote 2- Do police departments no longer do psych evals? This woman was evaluated by the police and told to carry a gun as part of her job. She was a government employee, one of the few that would have a firearm if some people could have their way. How much further would you test private citizens to see if they were "fit" to possess firearms?lQuote Hi John AFAIK Police depts do pysch evals but what happens to the son or grandson of cop who's been on the job for 20-30yr's. Remember the chief of police from Tacoma? The police dept lost his pysch eval for 20 plus yrs until he made it to chief of police and killed his wife and himself. The misplaced report showed that the chief flunked his pysch eval when he applied o be a rookie cop. The police need to erase the thin blue line and clean their own house of their bad apples rather than the give the public the sad excuss of a impartial dept review board that gives their own a free pass.

  18. I can't change how you perceive things like this. I see video of the IDF using WP, not as a smokescreen on the battlefield (which is considered acceptable) but as a very crudely targeted weapon over one of the most densely populated places on the planet. With the weaponry we've given the IDF there is absolutely no reason for them to use white phosphorus, fleschettes, or cluster bombs in any of their campaigns. Period. They are used as a terror weapon period. and will be continued to be used as long as we supply these types of "defensive weapons" to our alllies. video and the free press is a bitch. One Jump Wonder
  19. Hi Riddler She was a LEO She needed her gun to protect herself from "them" The fact that the lady was suspended after the lastest incident without pay, tells me that her deptarment and union fnally get it. I hope this is the end of the story.

  21. I remember a guy that use to use a paking rubber band around each big toe to keep his on while tracking. I also thought it was funny as hell a couple years ago when we were doing the 100 way demo into Kitty Hawk 100 years to the day of the 'First Flight'... Roger Ponce, who always jumps barefoot regardless of the weather had on a pair to Tevas as we went through security at the site prior to jumping...understandable because of the amount of walking we had to do as well as the frost on the ground. I couldn't help but bust out laughing when the security guard noticed Roger's footwear and exclaimed..."I hope you don't plan on jumping with those on!" Roger simply said~With sandals?....of course not.... Hi T Feet are easier to keep clean
  22. The theory is called the BS factor aka propagnda its not supposed to clarify anything. The theory doesn't have to make any sense, just some of the people have to believe it thats why propaganda is a useful tool.
